The utility grid has a supply of electric energy which is larger than the usually required power consumption under peak load condition. So, power distribution is required to have a heavy capacity because of peak-load period. To solve the problem, this paper proposes a 10kW rapid charger system which has a function of load compensation at the peak-load condition. The proposed system supplies power demanded by peak-load through transferring energy in the battery of electric vehicle to the grid. V2G operation is verified through simulation performed by 10kW rapid-charger.

ISO/IEC 15118 is a standard for communications and services for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Although this standard deals only with data communication between an electric vehicle and a charge station, communication with the outside is essential for establishing an authentication system for vehicle certification and V2G service for electric power transmission. In this study, it was designed to verify the information of electric car charging infrastructure in electric power system through communication link between ISO/IEC 15118 electric vehicle model and IEC 61850 standard MMS protocol. This is demonstrated in the field so that the electric vehicle communication data is linked with the micro grid management system. This could be used as an element technology in other distributed power sources as well as electric cars in the future.
The development of smart grid technologies will enable enhanced utilization of electric vehicles(EV) as portable energy storage devices which can provide power system-wide. Because significant increase of EV in the near future, V2G(Vehicle-to-Grid) system will soon become a reality. This paper presents the optimal method of a battery lifetime depending on depth of discharge(DOD) considering load leveling.

These days most of countries concern about eco-friendly energy. With this trend, the interests for Electric Vehicles(EVs) have been increased not only for its eco-friendly characteristics but also for the possibility that it can be used as Distributed Generation(DG). However, in terms of using EVs as DG, it requires specific standards. If there is no regulation and many of EVs start to discharge, it could cause severe unstability in power system. As there is no proper standards or regulations of Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G) system, we suggest the development direction of standardization of V2G system in the Republic of Korea by examining other countries' V2G standards.

Due to the depletion of fossil fuels and the increase in environmental pollution, electric vehicles are attracting attention as next-generation transportation and are becoming popular all over the world. As the interest in electric vehicles and the penetration rate increase, studies on the charging infrastructure with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and information technology are actively under way. In particular, communication with the grid network is the most important factor for stable charging and load management of electric vehicles. However, with the existing centralized infrastructure, there are problems when control-message requests increase and the charging infrastructure cannot efficiently operate due to slow response speed. In this paper, we propose a new charging infrastructure using mobile edge computing (MEC) that mitigates congestion and provides low latency by applying distributed cloud computing technology to wireless base stations. Through a performance evaluation, we confirm that the proposed charging infrastructure (with low latency) can cope with peak conditions more efficiently than the existing charging infrastructure.
Recently, the interest about Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G) system which can use the electric vehicles as generation sources or storage devices has rapidly increased. However, this technology does not use widely yet, and there is no clear standard or regulation for it. If electric vehicles are connected to the power system indiscreetly, it can cause problem to personnel safety and adverse effect on the power system. Therefore, it is important to analyze the related standards. In this paper, we introduce some international standard related with V2G system.
As the spreading speed of electric vehicles increases rapidly, those are expected to be able to use them as flexible resources in the power system beyond the concern for the supply of its charging power. Especially when the Renewable Energy sources (RES) which have no intrinsic control capability have replaced the synchronous generators more and more, the power system needs to secure the additional frequency control resources to ensure its stability. However, the feasibility of using electric vehicles as the frequency control resources should be analyzed from the perspective of the power system operation and it requires the existing simulation frameworks for the power system. Therefore, this paper proposes the grid connected modeling of the primary frequency control provided by electric vehicles which can be integrated into the existing power system model. In addition, the proposed model is implemented considering technical performances constrained by the characteristics of the Vehicle-Grid Integration (VGI) system so that the simulation results can be accepted by the power utilities operating the power system conservatively.
ISO 15118 is an international standard that defines communication between electric vehicles and electric vehicle chargers. Plug & Charge (PnC) was also defined as a technology to automatically authenticate users when using charging services. PnC indicates automatic authentication technology where all processes such as electric vehicle user authentication, charging and billing are automatically processed. According to the standard, certificates for chargers and CPSs (Certificate Provisioning Services) should be under the V2G (Vehicle to Grid) Root certificate. In Korea, the utility company operates its own PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), making it difficult to provide chargers under the V2G Root Certificate. Therefore, a method that can be authenticated is necessary even when you have different Root Certificates. This paper proposes to apply cross-certificate technology to PnC authentication. Automatic authentication of Cross Certification is to issue a cross-certificate of the Root CA and include it in the certificate chain to proceed with automatic authentication, even if you have different Root certificates. Applying cross-certificate technology enables verification of certificates under other Root certificates. In this paper, the PnC automatic authentication and cross certificate automatic authentication is implemented, so as to proceed with proof of concept proving that both methods are available. Define development requirements, certificate profiles, and user authentication sequences, and implement and execute them accordingly. This experiment confirms that two automatic authentication are practicable, especially the scalability of automatic authentication using cross-certificate PnC.

본 논문에서는 넓은 충전 전압 범위와 V2G 기능을 갖는 급속 충전기용 DC-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 SRC(Series Resonant Converter)와 2상 Buck/Boost 컨버터로 구성된 2-stage 구조로써 넓은 충전 전압 범위에 적합하며, 배터리 충전뿐만 아닌 V2G(Vehicle to Grid) 동작이 가능하다.
