Implementation of higo-speed vehicle state verification system using wireless network (무선 네트워크를 이용한 고속 차량 상태 확인 시스템 구현)

  • Recently, wireless network services are widely used, depending on the development of wireless network module technologies and the utilization gradually expanded, and thus is a trend that appears a lot of IT convergence industries. For this study, the OBD-II communication to Import your vehicle information, and other external devices in high-speed driving condition of the vehicle to verify the information system was developed to transfer data to an external server. From various sensors inside the vehicle using the OBD-II connector easily convert all users to read the information, then, Sent to the external server using the wireless network module, high-speed vehicle status check system was implemented. It was to test the performance of the system was developed using the actual circuit in a high-speed road racing vehicles. Transfer data generated from high-speed driving vehicles through the OBD-II scanner and check the status of a high-speed vehicle system was confirmed that this data is normally received. In the future, these new cars convergence of IT technology will grow as a new field of research.

  • Developed countries are operating an in-depth database in motor vehicle crashes nationwide. They do not rely solely on the police investigation reports that are responsible for motor vehicle crashes in each country but are developing into a useful database by expanding the categories of data through more indicators addition. In Korea, after implementing comprehensive measures to reduce traffic accident deaths in 2013, the medical centers participated in establishing the actual accident investigation system, which was called as the Korean In-Depth Accident Study (hereinafter KIDAS). This KIDAS database included more in-depth indicators as the types of accidents, types of vehicles, the injury severity, adequacy of safety devices, seating position of passengers. Although there are difficulties in establishing an actual accident investigation system including data collection due to various restrictions, if the system can cooperate with each other such as medical centers, insurance companies, police, fire and rescue services, towing companies, and car repair shops in the future, It would be expected to contribute to the development of safer vehicle, treatment system and traffic safety policy that lower the injury severity of occupant in the event of a motor vehicle crashes.

Advanced Channel Estimation Schemes Using CDP based Updated Matrix for IEEE802.11p/WAVE Systems

  • Today, cars have developed into intelligent automobiles that combine advanced control equipment and IT technology to provide driving assistance and convenience to users. These vehicles provide infotainment services to the driver, but this does not improve the safety of the driver. Accordingly, V2X communication, which forms a network between a vehicle and a vehicle, between a vehicle and an infrastructure, or between a vehicle and a human, is drawing attention. Therefore, various techniques for improving channel estimation performance without changing the IEEE 802.11p standard have been proposed, but they do not satisfy the packet error rate (PER) performance required by the C-ITS service. In this paper, we analyze existing channel estimation techniques and propose a new channel estimation scheme that achieves better performance than existing techniques. It does this by applying the updated matrix for the data pilot symbol to the construct data pilot (CDP) channel estimation scheme and by further performing the interpolation process in the frequency domain. Finally, through simulations based on the IEEE 802.11p standard, we confirmed the performance of the existing channel estimation schemes and the proposed channel estimation scheme by coded PER.

  • Studies on the intelligent vehicles that are fused with IT and intelligent vehicle technologies are currently under active discussion. And many new service models for them are being developed. As intelligent vehicles are being actively developed, a variety of wireless services are support. As such intelligent vehicles use wireless network, they are exposed to the diverse sources of security risk. This paper aims to examine the factors to threaten intelligent vehicle, which are usually intruded through network system and propose the security solution using biometric authentication technique. The proposed security system employs biometric authentication technique model that can distinguish the physical characteristics of user.

  • Application of demand-side resources to automatic generation control (AGC) has a great significance for improving the dynamic control performance of power system frequency regulation. This paper investigates the possibility of providing regulation services by demand-side energy storage in electric vehicle battery swapping stations (BSS). An interaction framework, namely station-to-grid (S2G), is presented to integrate BSS energy storage into power grid for giving benefits to frequency regulation. The BSS can be regarded as a lumped battery energy storage station through S2G framework. A supplementary AGC method using demand-side BSS energy storage is developed considering the vehicle user demand of battery swapping. The effects to the AGC performance are evaluated through simulations by using a two-area interconnected power grid model with step and random load disturbance. The results show that the demand-side BSS can significantly suppress the frequency deviation and tie-line power fluctuations.

  • Biogas production and utilisation is an emerging alternative energy technology. Biogas is produced from the biological breakdown of organic matter through anaerobic digestion. Biogas can be utilized for various energy services such as heating, electricity generation and vehicle fuel. Especially, to be utilized as vehicle fuel, raw biogas needs to be upgraded, that is, mainly the removal of carbon dioxide to increase the methane content, up to more than 95% in some cases, similar to the composition of fossil-based natural gas. Biogas fuelled vehicles can reduce $CO_2$ emission by between 75% and 200% compared with fossil fuels. Biomethane development is largely driven by national initiative and predominately by concerns for national air pollution and waste management. Recently, biogas projects for vehicle fuels by some companies are ongoing and Korea government also announced investment to develop biogas as a transport fuel. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the feasibility of biomethane as a transport fuel in Korea. In this study, we investigated quality characteristics, quality standard and upgrading technology to use vehicle fuel of transport sector in Korea.

  • With developing vehicle and communication technologies, cars can communicate with road-side infrastructures and among other cars. As autonomous driving cars have been developed, the cars are equipped with many sensors and powerful processing units. There are many studies related to provide cloud services to users by using available resources of connected cars. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic task size decision scheme that considers communication environment between a vehicle and a base station as well as available resources while allocating a proper task to each vehicle. Simulation results based on the proposed model show that a vehicle can complete its allocated task when we considers available resources and communication environments.

  • WAVE(Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment) System is a communication technology to monitor system failure and vehicle functions and management services to prevent possible incidents of driving a vehicle. In this paper, we have designed and implemented the mutual message processing through parameter between WME management module that manages WAVE system and MLME that manages the upper layer MAC(Media Access Control) module. Also, in order to verify the validity, we have carried out experiments to compare the speed of data processing by dividing data of 1Mbyte, 2Mbyte, 3Mbyte into the packets of 2KByte and 4KByte. Experiments data processing speed of 2KByte packet were shown about 173.62ms in 1MByte, 2MByte about 352.61ms, 3MByte about 550.13ms and, data processing speed of 4KByte packet, 1MByte approximately 87.56ms, 2MByte about 177.94ms, 3MByte about 277.18ms. Therefore, in WAVE system, the mutual messages processing through the parameters between WME and MLME module can be utilized in the various service of ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems) depending on the speed of data processing.

  • With increasing need of transportation services for people with disabilities and the aged, wheelchairs are used as their assistive devices to participate in daily and recreational activities and as seats of motor vehicle. However, as wheelchairs are primarily designed fer mobility assistive devices, not for vehicle seats, wheelchair users may experience serious injury when they meet car crashes. To date, neither engineering guidance for a wheelchair mounting system on the vehicle floor nor safety assessment analysis by a car crash has been studied for the domestic users. In this paper, in accordance with the ANSVRESNA WC-19, a fixed vehicle mounted wheelchair occupant restraint system (FWORS), wheelchair integrated restraint system (WIRS), and wheelchair integrated x-bend restraint system (WIXRS) subjected to frontal impact (20 g, 48 U) were analyzed using compute. simulations for domestic users. We present surrogate wheelchair occupant safety by head injury criteria (HIC), motion criteria (MC), and combined injury criteria (CIC).

Service Realization of WAVE based Vehicular Communication Systems in the Testbed (테스트베드상에서 WAVE기반 차량통신 시스템의 서비스 구현)

  • Vehicular communication is one of representative convergence technology which combines information technology and vehicle industry. Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) technology is vehicular communication standard which is widely used in the world. In this paper, we introduce service realization of WAVE based vehicular communication systems in the practical testbed. We review the overall WAVE based systems in brief and introduce the testbed. Then, we investigate various applications using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Based on realization of systems, we discuss practical implementation issues and the convergence area of WAVE systems.
