Traffic congestion is a severe problem in many modern cities around the world. Real-time and accurate traffic congestion identification can provide the advanced traffic management systems with a reliable basis to take measurements. The most used data sources for traffic congestion are loop detector, GPS data, and video surveillance. Video based traffic monitoring systems have gained much attention due to their enormous advantages, such as low cost, flexibility to redesign the system and providing a rich information source for human understanding. In general, most existing video based systems for monitoring road traffic rely on stationary cameras and multiple vehicle tracking method. However, most commonly used multiple vehicle tracking methods are lack of effective track initiation schemes. Based on the motion of the vehicle usually obeys constant velocity model, a novel vehicle recognition method is proposed. The state of recognized vehicle is sent to the GM-PHD filter as birth target. In this way, we relieve the insensitive of GM-PHD filter for new entering vehicle. Combining with the advanced vehicle detection and data association techniques, this multiple vehicle tracking method is used to identify traffic congestion. It can be implemented in real-time with high accuracy and robustness. The advantages of our proposed method are validated on four real traffic data.
In this paper, we propose an innovative super-resolution technique to address the issue of reduced accuracy in license plate recognition caused by low-resolution images. Conventional vehicle license plate recognition systems have relied on images obtained from fixed surveillance cameras for traffic detection to perform vehicle detection, tracking, and license plate recognition. However, during this process, image quality degradation occurred due to the physical distance between the camera and the vehicle, vehicle movement, and external environmental factors such as weather and lighting conditions. In particular, the acquisition of low-resolution images due to camera performance limitations has been a major cause of significantly reduced accuracy in license plate recognition. To solve this problem, we propose a Single Image Super-Resolution (SISR) model with a parallel structure that combines Multi-Scale and Attention Mechanism. This model is capable of effectively extracting features at various scales and focusing on important areas. Specifically, it generates feature maps of various sizes through a multi-branch structure and emphasizes the key features of license plates using an Attention Mechanism. Experimental results show that the proposed model demonstrates significantly improved recognition accuracy compared to existing vehicle license plate super-resolution methods using Bicubic Interpolation.

In this paper, we present design and implementation for identification and location tracking techniques for vehicle information terminals in high-speed mobile environment using IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN technology. RSU be installed at a specific point. RSU recognizes it and then aware identification and location tracking for target vehicle when target vehicle that is equipped with information terminals pass near point. Issue of quick recognition using IEEE 802.11 access management frame, issue of weak wireless LAN security and tracking a range of restrictions be raised and we present solutions. Vehicle information terminal, RSU and a server-side GUI-based management program be implemented based on proposed solution. Implementation system be performed experiment at actual road environment and effectiveness be verified.
This research was verified detection way of intercept vehicles and performance evaluation after system installation using image detector as detection way of ground installation. By image recognition algorithm was on the trace of moving orbit of violation vehicles for detection way of intercept vehicles. When moving orbit is located special site, utilized geometric image calibration and DC-notch filter. These are cognitive system of license plate by making signal. Then, Bright Evidence Detection and Dark Evidence Detection were applied to after mixing. It is applied to way of Backward tracking for detection way of intercept vehicles. After the field evaluation of developed system, it should be analyzed the more high than recognition rate of minimum standards 80%. It should rise in the estimation of the site applicability is highly from now.
A road recognition system or Lane departure warning system is an early stage technology that has been commercialized as early as 10 years but can be optional and used as an expensive premium vehicle, with a very small number of users. Since the system installed on a vehicle should not be error prone and operate reliably, the introduction of robust feature extraction and tracking techniques requires the development of algorithms that can provide reliable information. In this paper, we investigate and analyze various real-time road detection algorithms based on color information. Through these analyses, we would like to suggest the algorithms that are actually applicable.

This paper relates to the development of CCTV camera posture calibration algorithm that can simultaneously collect traffic information such as traffic volume and speed in the state of view of the CCTV camera set for traffic monitoring. The developed autonomous posture calibration algorithm uses vehicle recognition and tracking techniques to identify the road, and automatically determines the angle of view for the operator's traffic surveillance and traffic information collection. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a CCTV installed on site was used, and the results of the angle of view automatically calculated by the autonomous posture calibration algorithm for the angle of view set for traffic surveillance and traffic information collection were compared.

This paper proposes a method to recognize and track drivable lane areas to assist the driver. The main topic is designing a deep-based network that predicts drivable road areas using computer vision and deep learning technology based on images acquired in real time through a camera installed in the center of the windshield inside the vehicle. This study aims to develop a new model trained with data directly obtained from cameras using the YOLO algorithm. It is expected to play a role in assisting the driver's driving by visualizing the exact location of the vehicle on the actual road consistent with the actual image and displaying and tracking the drivable lane area. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to track the drivable road area in most cases, but in bad weather such as heavy rain at night, there were cases where lanes were not accurately recognized, so improvement in model performance is needed to solve this problem.
This paper introduces a video based traffic monitoring system for detecting vehicles and obstacles on the road. To segment moving objects from image sequence, we adopt the background subtraction algorithm based on the local binary patterns (LBP). Recently, LBP based texture analysis techniques are becoming popular tools for various machine vision applications such as face recognition, object classification and so on. In this paper, we adopt an extension of LBP, called the Diagonal LBP (DLBP), to handle the background subtraction problem arise in vision-based autonomous parking systems. It reduces the code length of LBP by half and improves the computation complexity drastically. An edge based shadow removal and blob merging procedure are also applied to the foreground blobs, and a pose estimation technique is utilized for calculating the position and heading angle of the moving object precisely. Experimental results revealed that our system works well for real-time vehicle localization and tracking applications.

In this paper, lane recognition, steering control and speed control algorithms were developed using Bluetooth wireless communication and image processing techniques. Instead of recognizing road traffic signals based on image processing techniques, a methodology for recognizing the permissible road speed by receiving speed codes from electronic traffic signals using Bluetooth wireless communication was developed. In addition, a steering control algorithm based on PWM control that tracks the lanes using the Canny algorithm and Hough transform was developed. A vehicle prototype and a driving test track were developed to prove the accuracy of the developed algorithm. Raspberry Pi and Arduino were applied as main control devices for steering control and speed control, respectively. Also, Python and OpenCV were used as implementation languages. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology was confirmed by demonstrating effectiveness in the lane tracking and driving control evaluation experiments using a vehicle prototypes and a test track.
