VANET technologies provide real-time traffic information for mitigating traffic jam and preventing traffic accidents, as well as in-vehicle infotainment service through Telematics/Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Due to the rapid increasement of various requirements, the vehicle communication with a limited resource and the fixed frame architecture of the conventional techniques is limited to provide an efficient communication service. Therefore, a new flexible operation depending on the surrounding situation information is required that needs an adaptive design of the network architecture and protocol for efficiently predicting, distributing and sharing the context-aware information. In this paper, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) based on communication between vehicle and a Road Side Units (RSU) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) based on communication between vehicles are effectively combined in a new MAC architecture and V2I and V2V vehicles collaborate in management. As a result, many vehicles and RSU can use more efficiently the resource and send data rapidly. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve high resource utilization in accordance. Also we can find out the optimal transmission relay time and 2nd relay vehicle selection probability value to spread out V2V/V2I collaborative schedule message rapidly.

The CAN (Controller Area Network) system is the most dominant protocol for in-vehicle networking system because it provides bounded transmission delay among ECUs (Electronic Control Units) at data rates between 125Kbps and 1Mbps. And, many automotive companies have chosen the CAN protocol for their in-vehicle networking system such as chassis network system because of its excellent communication characteristics. However, the increasing number of ECUs and the need for more intelligent functions such as ADASs (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) or IVISs (In-Vehicle Information Systems) require a network with more network capacity and the real-time QoS (Quality-of-Service). As one approach to enhancing the network capacity of a CAN system, this paper introduces a CAN system with dual communication channel. And, this paper presents a distributed message allocation method that allocates messages to the more appropriate channel using forecast traffic of each channel. Finally, an experimental testbed using commercial off-the-shelf microcontrollers with two CAN protocol controllers was used to demonstrate the feasibility of the CAN system with dual communication channel using the distributed message allocation method.
Driverless Train Control System has been recently introduced and commercialized in Korea. It is expected that the vehicle with driverless operation system will be used in new lines such as Sinbundang line soon. Therefore it is necessary to change the system operation and conception of the existing train operation system and the necessity of driverless vehicle monitoring system meeting a new paradigm is rising. In order to dispel concerning about safety issues caused by driverless train operation, the importance to establish vehicle error detection, useful fault diagnosis and rapid action plans is higher than ever. For this, efficient and higher level of vehicle supervision & control system should be essentially supported. In this study, remote driverless vehicle monitoring system using by radio communication is suggested to be used for monitoring and controlling important parts of the vehicle and diagnose and take quick actions when vehicles are in trouble at control tower at real time.

Distributing a Certificate Revocation List (CRL) quickly to all vehicles in the system requires a very large number of road side units (RSUs) to be deployed. In reality, initial deployment stage of vehicle networks would be characterized by limited infrastructure as a result in very limited vehicle to infrastructure communication. However, every vehicle wants the most recent CRLs to protect itself from malicious users and malfunctioning equipments, as well as to increase the overall security of the vehicle networks. To address this challenge, we design and implement a nomadic device based CRL acquisition method using nomadic device's communication capability with cellular networks. When a vehicle could not directly communicate with nearby RSUs, the nomadic device acts as a security mediator to perform vehicle's security functions continuously through cellular networks. Therefore, even if RSUs are not deployed or sparsely deployed, vehicle's security threats could be minimized by receiving the most recent CRLs in a reasonable time.
An adaptive nonlinear observer-based longitudinal control law for vehicles is presented in this paper. It is assumed that for vehicle i knows only the distance between vehicle i and the preceding vehicle, i-1. An adaptive nonlinear state observer for vehicle i is developed to estimate the velocity and acceleration of the preceding vehicle, i-1. The communication of the position, velocity, and acceleration information is not used in the proposed method. It will be shown by mathematical analysis that the longitudinal control of vehicle can be implemented without an communication of the informations. It will be proven that the observation errors of the nonlinear states converge to zero asymptotically. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, the simulation results are presented for the longitudinal control of the vehicle.

In this paper, we developed a vehicle condition monitoring system that checks vehicle conditions, and transmits and displays them to a driver for safety and effective maintenance. We used a CAN controller and transceiver to establish the CAN communication that has been used commonly inside an actual vehicle for the collection of vehicle's status information. To validate the operation of the developed system, we have confirmed the accuracy and stability of data transmission and reception of vehicle information.
It is necessary to establish a system suitable for the driving vehicle so that it can effectively search for and modify various data anywhere and anytime by effectively linking communication with the computer system in the running vehicle and to control the equipment properly for smooth operation on a limited platform do. Also, vehicle CAN communication is used to extract system engine information, and data is transmitted using ZigBee for this information transmission. Therefore, OBD-II protocol, which is provided by the vehicle itself, is used for vehicle CAN to obtain vehicle status information and exhaust gas using various sensor information of the vehicle and O2 sensor value, and transmits it to the ZigBee main control system. In this study, we implemented a system that can reduce the battery load damage to the maximum by reducing the power consumption to the maximum, and to monitor the internal state of the vehicle through ZigBee communication with the embedded system for low power vehicles.

With the advent of 5G communications, internet of vehicles technology has been widely used in vehicles. Then the dynamic spread of information between vehicles began to come into focus with more research. It is well known that the identification of nodes with great spread influence has always been a hot topic in the field of information spreading. Most of the existing work measures the propagation influence by degree centrality, betweenness centrality and closeness centrality. In this paper, we will identify influential vehicle nodes based on the mobility characteristics of vehicles to explore the information spreading between vehicles in VANETs. Different from the above methods, we mainly explore the influence of the radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel on information spreading. We use a real vehicle trajectory data to simulate the information transmission process between vehicles based on the susceptible-infected-recovered SIR model. The experimental results show that the influence of information spreading does not enhance with increasing radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel. The fact is that both the radius of gyration and the distance travelled have a significant influence on information spreading when they are close to the median. When the value of both is large or small, it has little influence on information spreading. In view of this results, we can use the radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel to better facilitate the transmission of information between vehicles.

The most common communication interface for automotive electronic control devices is CAN (Controller Area Network). Sine CAN was first adopted to Daimler vehicles in 1991, all of automobile manufacturers use the CAN communication for in-vehicle networks. However, as the number of electronic control devices connected to the CAN network rapidly increases, the CAN protocol reaches the limit of technology. To overcome this limitation, Bosch introduced the new communication protocol, that is CAN-FD (Flexible Data-rate). In this paper, we analyze the characteristics and limitations of CAN-FD communication according to the topology under the in-vehicle wiring harness environment designed based on the existing classic CAN communication.

Vehicular communication networking is one of the most important building blocks of Intelligent Transportation System(ITS). The vehicular communication network is a wireless communication system enabling vehicles to communicate with each other as well as with roadside base stations. Especially, Wi-Fi based vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I) communication is an emerging solution to improve the safety, traffic efficiency, and comfort of passengers. In this paper, we proposed a new communication hub platform for vehicles, and explained vehicle communication technology in short. Through car simulation results, we show thar our proposed system reduces signaling interference.
