Objectives : The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant difference in the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio according to the history of suicide attempt in patients with psychiatric diseases. Methods : A medical record review was conducted on patients who had been hospitalized in Konyang University Hospital since 2021-03-01 to 2023-02-28 to collect demographic and clinical characteristics. T-test for continuous variables and Chi-square test for categorical variables were performed to determine demographic differences according to the history of suicide attempt, and the ANCOVA test was performed to compare the average value of peripheral inflammatory marker according to the history of suicide attempt with gender and age as covariates. One-way variance analysis was performed to determine whether the number of suicide attempt causes significant difference of the peripheral inflammatory marker. Results : The final analysis target of this study was 266 patients, 101 had history of suicide attempt, and 165 had no history of suicide attempt. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (p<0.001) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (p<0.001) were higher in patients with the history of suicide attempt than patients without the history of suicide attempt, but the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio were not significantly increased depending on the serial increase of number of suicide attempts. Conclusions : This study suggests that peripheral inflammatory markers are meaningful and easily accessible indicators for predicting the risk of suicide attempt in psychiatric patients. We expect that prospective follow-up study will be conducted with more subjects and controlled potential confounding variables.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of heated spreader on the sealing ability of lateral condensation, compared with regular cold spreader. Forty two extracted human teeth with single canal were randomly placed into 3 experimental groups, and four additional teeth were used as positive and negative controls. Each group was prepared with Ni-Ti Profile #40 using step-down technique and obturated with standardized colored gutta-percha cone by standard(cold) lateral condensation technique, warm lateral condensation technique with Endotec and hot spreader soaked in glass bead sterilizer, each with Sealapex sealer. Control groups were not obturated, but prepared. After 2 days in 2% methylene blue, the teeth were invested and made into transparent resin blocks. And then, each block was sectioned horizontally with microtome at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 mm levels from the apex. The linear extent of dye penetration was examined with stereomicroscope at ${\times}$20 magnification. At each of 5 levels, ratio of the area of gutta-percha was obtained by calculating the area of gutta-percha to the total area of the canal. The data collected were then analyzed statistically using an analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Scheffe test. The results were as follows ; 1. All experimental groups produced the apical microleakage. 2. The mean leakage was 1.57${\pm}$0.76mm for cold spreader group, 0.86${\pm}$0.95mm for Endotec spreader group, and 0.64${\pm}$0.93mm for hot spreader group. The difference between hot spreader group and cold spreader group was statistically significant(p<0.05). 1. At the 1 mm level, the mean ratio of area of gutta-percha was 74.58${\pm}$13.15(%) for cold spreader group, 65.42${\pm}$14.62(%) for Endotec spreader group, and 80.72${\pm}$14.63(%) for hot spreader group. There was statistically significant difference between hot spreader group and Endotec spreader group(p<0.05). 2. At the 2mm level, the mean ratio of area of gutta-percha was 87.86${\pm}$11.22(%) for cold spreader group, 66.55${\pm}$14.02(%) for Endotec spreader group, and 92.93${\pm}$7.24(%) for hot spreader group. There was statistically significant difference between Endotec spreader group and other two spreader groups(p<0.05). 3. At the level 3, 4, 5 mm, there was no statistically significant difference between each group. Within the limits of the results of this experiment, warm lateral condensation technique with hot spreader soaked in a glass bead sterilizer demonstrated favorable apical sealing effect and improved density of gutta-percha mass. Thus, it is thought that this obturation technique is effective for clinical use and beneficial to reduce condensation forces, also economical and easy. Lateral condensation, Heated spreader, canal sealing, Microleakage.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the CPR within ambulance. The Subjects were 890 emergency medical technicians in fire department in Gyeonggido. After continuing education program, the emergency medical technicians completed the questionnaires from January to February, 2012. Questionnaire consisted of demographic characteristics, method of chest compression (one handed or two handed), chest compression - ventilation ratio, and hands only CPR. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis and Chi-square test, t-test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was followed by Scheffe post-hoc test to analyze changes in all parameters between all groups. One handed chest compression accounted for 14.0% and two handed chest compression accounted for 86.0%. Hands only CPR accounted for 71.7% and standard CPR (30:2) accounted for 28.3%. In order to perform the high quality CPR, as least three persons must be dispatched in the ambulance. The flexible management of manpower may improve the survival from the cardiac arrest. A systemic approach for educating and training EMT's in CPR is needed.

Being popularized the use of portable entertainment/information devices, the demand on flash memory has been also increased radically. In general, flash memory reveals various error patterns by the devices it is mounted, and thus the memory makers are trying to minimize error ratio in the final process through not only the electric test but also the data integrity test under the same condition as real application devices. This process is called an application-level memory test. Though currently various flash memory testing devices have been used in the production lines, most of the works related to memory test depend on the sensual abilities of human testers. In case of testing the flash memory for MP3 devices, the human testers are checking if the memory has some errors by hearing the audio played on the memory testing device. The memory testing process like this has become a bottleneck in the flash memory production line. In this paper, we propose an audio comparison technique to support the efficient flash memory test for MP3 devices. The technique proposed in this paper compares the variance change rate between the source binary file and the decoded analog signal and checks automatically if the memory errors are occurred or not.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two levofloxacin tablets, Jeil $Cravit^{TM}$ tablet (Jeil Pharm. Co., Ltd., Korea, reference drug) and $Lesacin^{TM}$ tablet (Ilhwa. Co., Ltd., Korea, test drug), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received two tablets containing levofloxacin 200 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of levofloxacin were monitored for over a period of 24 hr after administration by using a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 24 hr ($AUC_t$), maximum plasma drug concentration ($C_{max}$) and time to reach $C_{max}\;(T_{max})$ were complied from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_t$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for $Lesacin^{TM}$/Jeil $Cravit^{TM}$ were $\log\;0.9527{\sim}\log\;0.9981$ and $\log\;0.8712{\sim}\log\;1.0556$, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of $\log\;0.80{\sim}\log\;1.25$, recommended by KFDA. In all of these results, we concluded that $Lesacin^{TM}$ tablet was bioequivalent to Jeil $Cravit^{TM}$ tablet, in terms of rate and extent of absorption.
The purposes of this paper are to build theoretical and empirically testable model to identify determining factors of ownership structure, and to analyze this model empirically using th Korea Stock Exchange panel data, and to test the impact of opening the stock market on the determinants of ownership structure. The determining factors of ownership structure identified in this paper include debt ratio, dividend, asset characteristics, profitability, growth business risk, size, institutional investors and chaebol-non chaebol dummy variable. Empirical panel estimation test reveals that this model can explain about $9\sim11%$ of the cross sectional variance in the equity ratio of large shareholders. The reasons that this model has too explanatory power are that some variables were measured with errors, and that there were some omitted variables in tested model. The regression results on the model variables ar generally in line with predictions. But the coefficient estimates on size is never significant. And it appears that the exogenous variable which explains opening the stock market has positive effect on the determinants of ownership structure.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two torasemide tablets, Torem tablet (Roche Korea Co., Ltd., Korea, reference drug) and Boryung Torsemide tablet (Boryung Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Korea, test drug), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). After adding an internal standard (furosemide) to human serum, serum samples were extracted using 5 mL of ethyl acetate. Compounds were analyzed by reverse-phase HPLC method with UV detection. This method showed linear response over the concentration range of 0.05 ug/mL with correlation coefficient of 0.999. The lower limit of quantitation using 0.5 mL of serum was 0.05 ug/mL which was sensitive enough for pharmacokinetic studies. Twenty-eight healthy male Korean volunteers received each medicine at the torasemide dose of 20 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week washout period between the doses. Serum concentrations of torasemide were monitored by an HPLC-UV for over a period of 12 hr after the administration. $AUC_{t}$(the area under the serum concentration-time curve from time zero to 12 hr) was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule method. $C_{max}$ (maximum serum drug concentration) and $T_{max}$ (time to reach $C_{max}$) were compiled from the serum concentration-time data. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed $AUC_{t}$ and $C_{max}$. No significant sequence effect was found for all of the bioavailability parameters indicating that the crossover design was properly performed. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_{t}$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for Boryung Torsemide/Torem were log 0.97-10g 1.03 and log 0.93log 1.12, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.80-log 1.25. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating Boryung Torsemide tablet and Torem tablet are bioequivalent.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two pioglitazone HCl tablets, $Actos^{TM}$, tablets (Lilly Korea. Ltd., Korea) as a reference drug and $Piros^{TM}$, tablets (Reyon Pharm. Co., Ltd., Korea) as test drug, according to the guideline of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received one tablet containing pioglitazone HCl 15 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of pioglitazone were monitored for over a period of 36 hr after administration by using a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 36 hr ($AUC_{0-36hr}$), maximum plasma drug concentration ($C_{max}$) and time to reach $C_{max}$ ($T_{max}$) were complied from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_{0-36hr}$ and $C_{max}$. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_{0-36hr}$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for $Piros^{TM}$/$Actos^{TM}$. were log 0.8753-log 1.1286 and log 0.8669-log 1.1734, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.80-log 1.25, recommended by KFDA. In all of these results, we concluded that the $Piros^{TM}$. tablet was bioequivalent to the $Actos^{TM}$. tablet, based on the rate and extent of absorption.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two nateglinide tablets, $PASTIC^{(R)}$ tablet (ILDONG Pharm. Co., Ltd., Seoul, Korea, reference drug) and $GLUNATE^{(R)}$ tablet (ILHWA. Co., Ltd., Seoul, Korea, test drug), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Thirty-five healthy male volunteers, $23.1{\pm}2.3$ years in age and $69.2{\pm}8.8\;kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After a tablet containing 90 mg of nateglinide was orally administrated, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals over a period of 8 hr and concentrations of nateglinide in plasma were monitored using LC-MS/MS. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUCt (the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time 0 to 8 hr), $C_{max}$ (maximum plasma drug concentration) and $TC_{max}$ (time to reach $CC_{max}$) were calculated and analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$ and untransformed $T_{max}$. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_t$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for $GLUNATE^{(R)}/PASTIC^{(R)}$ were ${\log}1.0782{\sim}{\log}1.1626$ and ${\log}0.9621{\sim}{\log}1.1679$, respectively. Since these values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of ${\log}0.80{\sim}{\log}1.25$, recommended by KFDA, it was concluded that $GLUNATER^{(R)}$ tablet was bioequivalent to $PASTIC^{(R)}$ tablet, in terms of both rate and extent of absorption.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of meloxicam capsule, $Mobic^{TM}$ capsule( Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd., Korea) as a reference drug and $Meloxifen^{TM}$ capsule (Kukje Pharma Ind. Co., Ltd., Korea) as a test drug, according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration(KFDA). Thirty two healthy male Korean volunteers received capsule containing meloxicam 7.5 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week above washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of meloxicam were monitored for over a period of 72 hr after administration by using a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer(LC-MS/MS). $AUC_t$(the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 72 hr), $C_{max}$(maximum plasma drug concentration) and $T_{max}$(time to reach $C_{max}$) were complied from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance(ANOVA) test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_t$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for $Meloxifen^{TM}/Mobic^{TM}$ were log 0.8605-log 0.9847 and log 0.9765-log 1.1503, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.80-log 1.25, recommended by KFDA. In all of these results, we concluded that $Meloxifen^{TM}$ capsule was bioequivalent to $Mobic^{TM}$ capsule, based on the rate and extent of absorption.
