Objective : The purpose of this experimental-controlled study was to investigate the characteristics of the autonomic nervous system in students with Keongke by using HRV(Heart rate variability) and PSV(Pupil size variability). Method : The study group was consisted of 11 students with self recognition as the experimental group, and 25 normal students as the control group. Informations on gender and age were obtained by medical charts and personal interviews. By using heart rate variability and pupil size variability, we measured the value of HRT(Heart rate), SDNN(Standard deviation of NN intervals), LFnorm(Low frequency normalization), HFnorm(High frequency normalization), LF/HF ratio, Pupil area, B.S.(Basic size), C.R.(Max Constriction Rate) and 1s.d.(1sec Dilation Rate). I compared the degrees of the sympathetic and parasympathetic activity. Result : 1. In the result of heart rate variability between experimental and control group, none of the parameters of experimental group were significantly different from control group. And even though there were no statistical significance, there were some numerical differences in SDNN, LF norm, HF norm. 2. In pupil size variability, C.R. and 1s.d. of the experimental group were increased compared to control group. Conclusion : The study results suggest that the group with Keongke has differences of autonomic nervous system as compared to those in normal state. Measurement value of PSV is a new technical approach to estimate the autonomic nervous system.

Optical variability is one way to probe the nature of the central engine of AGN at smaller linear scales, and previous studies have shown that optical variability of AGN is more prevalent at longer timescales and at shorter wavelengths. To understand the properties and physical mechanism of variability, we are performing the KMTNet Active Nuclei Variability Survey (KANVaS). Especially, we investigated intra-night variability of AGN with KMTNet data which observed COSMOS field during 3 separate nights from 2015 to 2016 in B, V, R, and I bands. Each night was composed of 5, 9, and 11 epochs with 20-30 min cadence. To find AGN in the COSMOS field, we applied multi-wavelength selection methods. Using X-ray, mid-infrared, and radio selection methods, 50-60, 130-220, 20-40 number of AGN are detected, respectively. Achieving photometric uncertainty ~0.01mag by differential photometry, we employed a standard time-series analysis tool to identify variable AGN, chi-square test. Preliminary results indicate that there is no evidence of intra-night optical variability of AGN. It is possible that previous studies discovered intra-night variability used inappropriate photometric error. However, main reason seems that our targets have fainter magnitude (higher photometric error) than that of previous studies. To discover variability of AGN, we will investigate longer timescale variability of AGN.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in the stride-to-stride variability between two treadmill conditions; traditional treadmill and special treadmill whose speed can be adjusted automatically by subject's walking speed. Eight male subjects (25.1 years, 172.7 cm, 66.6 kg) were participated in treadmill walking experiment. First, preferred walking speed (PWS) of each subject was determined. Second, each subject performed walking experiment with fixed PWS condition and with free PWS condition for 10 minutes. 3D motion capture system (Motion analysis Corp., USA) with 6 cameras was used to collect motion data with sampling frequency of 120Hz. Temporal and spatial variables for stride-to-stride variability were calculated. Coefficient of variance (CV) which quantifies the amount of variability and Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) which explains the structure (self-similarity) of the variability were used for analysis. Results showed that the amount of variability during free PWS condition was greater than that of fixed PWS condition. DFA results showed that there was a statistical difference between two treadmill conditions for the variables of step length, stance time, and double support time. From these results, it is possible that traditional treadmill study might give incorrect conclusion about gait variability study. Further study is necessary to clarify these matters by considering the number of subjects, experimental time, and gait variables for the study of stride-to-stride variability.
Variability in Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) can be caused by time-dependent accretion rates, geometric changes in the circumstellar disks, the stochastic hydromagnetic interactions between stellar surfaces and inner disk edges, reconnections within the stellar magnetosphere, and hot/cold spots on stellar surfaces. We uncover ~1400 variables from a sample of ~5300 YSOs in nearby low-mass star-forming regions using mid-IR light curves obtained from the 5.5-years NEOWISE All Sky Survey. The mid-IR variability traces a wide range of dynamical, physical, and geometrical phenomenon. We classify six types of YSO variability based on their light curves: secular variability (Linear, Curved, Periodic) and stochastic variability (Burst, Drop, Irregular). YSOs in earlier evolutionary stages have higher fractions of variables at all types and higher amplitudes for the variability. Along with brightness variability, we also find a diverse range of secular color variations, which can be attributed to a competitive interplay between the variable accretion luminosity of the central source and the variable extinction by material associated with the accretion process. We compare the variability of known FUors/EXors and VeLLOs/LLSs, which represent two extreme ends (burst versus quiescent) of the episodic accretion process; FUors/EXors have a higher fraction of variables (65%) than VeLLOs/LLSs (41%). Short-term (few day) and long-term (decades) variability, as well as possible AGB contamination in the YSO catalogues, are also discussed.molecules become more complex by surface chemistry induced directly by high energy photons or by the thermal energy diffused over heated grain surface. An initial approach for the identification of physical causes underlying the spatial coherency of seismic ground motions it presented. The approach relies on the observation that amplitude and phase variability of seismic data recorded over extended areas around the amplitude and phase of a common, coherent component are correlated. It suffices then to examine the physical causes for the amplitude variability in the seismic motions, in order to recognize the causes for the phase variability and, consequently, the spatial coherency. In this study, the effect of randomness in the shear wave velocity at a site on the amplitude variability of the surface motions mi investigated by means of simulations. The amplitude variability of the simulated motions around the amplitude of the common component is contained within envelope functions, the shape of which suggests, on a preliminary basis, the trend of the decay of coherency with frequency.
Marine organisms in Antarctica live in an environment which exhibits variability in physical processes over a wide range of temporal scales, from seconds to millennia. This time scale tends to be correlated with the spatial scale over which a given process operates, though this relationship is influenced by biology. The way organisms respond to variability in the physical environment depends on the time-scale of that variability in relation to life-span. Short-term variations are perceived largely as noise and probably have little direct impact on ecology. Of much greater importance to organisms in Antarctica are seasonal and decadal variations. Although seasonality has long been recognised as a key feature of polar environments, the realization that decadal scale variability is important is relatively recent. Long-term change has always been a feature of polar environments and may be a key factor in the evolution of the communities we see today.
We present a comprehensive re-analysis of stellar photometric variability in the field of open cluster M37, using our new high-precision light curves. This dataset provides a rare opportunity to explore different types of variability between short (-minutes) and long (-one month) time-scales. To investigate the variability properties of -30,000 objects, we developed new algorithms for detecting periodic, aperiodic, and sporadic variability in their light curves. About 7.5% (2,284) of the total sample exhibits convincing variations that are induced by flares, pulsations, eclipses, starspots and, in some cases, unknown causes. The benefits of our new photometry and analysis package are evident. The discovery rate of new variables is increased by 63% in comparison with the existing catalog of variables, and 51 previously identified variables were found to be false positives resulting from time-dependent systematic effects. Based on extended and improved catalog of variables, we will review the basic properties (e.g., periodicity, amplitude, type) of the variability and how different they are for different spectral types and for cluster memberships.
It is not easy to correctly predict deflections of reinforced concrete beams and one-way slabs due to the variability of parameters involved in the calculation of deflections. Monte Carlo simulation is used to assess the variability of deflections with known statistical data and probability distributions of variables. A deterministic deflection value is obtained using the layered beam model based on the finite element approach in which a finite element is divided into a number of layers over the depth. The model takes into account nonlinear effects such as cracking, creep and shrinkage. Statistical parameters were obtained from the literature. For the assessment of variability of deflections, 12 cases of one-way slabs and T-beams are designed on the basis of ultimate moment capacity. Several results of a probabilistic study are presented to indicate general trends indicated by results and demonstrate the effect of certain design parameters on the variability of deflections. From simulation results, the variability of deflections relies primarily on the ratio of applied moment to cracking moment and the corre-sponding reinforcement ratio.
We derive a generalized statistic form of Q control chart, which is especially suitable for short run productions and start-up processes, for the detection of process mean shifts. The generalization means that the derived control chart statistic concurrently uses within lot variability and between lot variability to explain the process variability. The latter variability source is noticeably prevalent in lot type production processes including semiconductor wafer fabrications. We first obtain the generalized Q control chart statistic when both the process mean and process variance are unknown, which represents the case of implementing statistical process control charting for short run productions and start-up processes. Also, we provide the corresponding generalized Q control chart statistics for the rest of three cases of previous Q control chart statistics : (1) both the process mean and process variance are known (2) only the process mean is unknown and (3) only the process variance is unknown.
