This study identifies a factor structure regarding the criterion of terror awareness by using confirmatory factor analysis. The study provides information whether the criterion fits in the analysis of terror awareness in Korea or not. Data of 176 public officials working at the National Assembly collected in 「Study on the Improvement of Security in the National Assembly Building」(Choi O-Ho and others, 2016) was used in the analysis. Study results showed the fit statistics of 3 questions regarding concern in terror, 5 questions regarding cognition of terror occurrence, 3 questions regarding countermeasure of terror, and 3 questions regarding equipments against terror satisfied the standard. Also, standard regression coefficient exceeded the standard and was shown to be fit. Concern in terror, as a latent variable, was below the standard value of average variance extracted. However, focused validity was secured by obtaining other values fit. This study proceeded distinct validation test to supplement data. The test results showed that the criterion level was fit. Thus, further survey should include questions that are appropriate to measure the awareness of terror based not only on theories and previous studies but also on questions of terror awareness tested in this study. Such development in surveys will support the means of data measurement.
Thermoelectric bismuth telluride thin films were prepared on $SiO_{2}$/Si substrate with co-sputtering of bismuth and tellurium targets. The effects of deposition temperature on surface morphology, crystallinity and electrical transport properties were investigated. Hexagonal crystallites were clearly visible at the surface of films deposited above $290 ^{\circ}C$. Change of dominant phase from rhombohedral $Bi_2Te_3$ to hexagonal BiTe was confirmed with X-ray diffraction analysis. The deviation from stoichiometric composition at high deposition temperature resulted in the change of structural and electrical characteristics. Seebeck coefficients of all samples have negative value, indicating the prepared $Bi_XTe_Y$ films are n-type thermoelectric. Optimum of Seebeck coefficient and power factor were obtained at the deposition temperature of $225 \^{circ}$C (about -55 $\mu$V/K and $3\times10^{-4}$ W/$k^{2}$m, respectively). This study was performed to evaluate the seasonal variation of intraocular pressure (IOP) values in normal Sapsaree dogs. Sapsaree dogs (n = 474) clinically free from ophthalmic disease were included in this study, and both eyes were examined in each dog. An applanation tonometer (Tonopen$^{(R)}$ XL) was used to measure IOP values in both eyes. Data obtained from both eyes were stratified by factors thought to affect IOP values including age, gender, hair coat type as well as season of measurement. The IOP results were compared by ANCOVA to verify the effect each factor had on IOP, and an ANOVA test followed by a Bonferroni post hoc test was used for further analysis. The overall mean ${\pm}$ SD IOP value was $19.1{\pm}3.7$ mmHg (range: 8 to 28 mmHg) in the present study. Only seasonal variation showed a significant effect (P < 0.001), on IOP values. IOP values measured in winter ($20.4{\pm}3.4$ mmHg) and summer ($17.1{\pm}3.6$ mmHg) were significantly higher and lower, respectively, than those measured in other seasons. These results suggest a seasonal variation has a significant effect on the IOP of normal dogs. This may prompt further research and possible modification of current veterinary ophthalmic references.
Objectives : To develop a physical functioning instrument for older adults living in the community. Methods : A representative sample of 979 people aged 65 years or over were interviewed in-person. Of these, 199 people also completed a detailed in-hospital examination. The scale items were selected based on the frequency of endorsement, along with the item-total and inter-item correlations. The associations of the scale with their physical performance and clinical examination were analyzed to evaluate the criterion-related validity. Construct validity was assessed using factor analysis, and internal consistency through Cronbach's alpha and item-total correlations. Test-retest reliability was measured by agreement between the household survey and the repeat survey at the in-hospital examination. Results : Initially, 23 items on the level of difficulty, ranging from no difficulty to an inability to complete a task, with the specific mobility and self-care tasks were included. Those with a high frequency of endorsement and a low inter-item or item-total correlations were excluded, resulting in a 10-item Physical Functioning (PT) scale. Equal weights were given to each item and a summated score was calculated. Significant associations were found between the PF scores and the physical performance, surrey and clinical data. The scale revealed a 2-factor (mobility and self-care) structure. Cronbach's alpha was 0.92 and the item-total correlations were in the 0.63 to 0.78 range. Pearson's correlations for the test-retest ranged between 0.56 and 0.61. Conclusions : The newly developed Physical Functioning (PF) scale showed good psychometric properties in older people. Further work, however, is needed to improve its sensitivity to discriminate higher levels of functioning, in addition to assessing its predictive value in detecting changes in health.
Purpose The change in uniformity due to the decreasement in dose should be known. $^{57}Co$ sealed sources are easy to manage and use as QC sources replacing $^{99m}Tc$. Overlapping sealed sources are expected to show variations in dose due to attenuation between sealed sources. Materials and Methods A total of three experiments were conducted. The first experiment is to observe the change in the degree of senescence of the $^{57}Co$ sealed source. The second experiment is to compare the single source and overlaped source at similar doses. In the third experiment, the sources of different doses were compared on each other to determine the changes due to the attenuation between the overlapping sources. Results The results of the first experiment did not exceed the acceptable range. but each crew showed a difference. There was no statistically significant difference in the measurement of uniformity on second and third experiment Conclusion It is believed that a $^{57}Co$ sealed source can be used as a superimposed source. It is not only economical but also convenient to use. daily uniformity measurements will help reduce scan time and speed up the testing process.
Organic agriculture seeks sustainable agriculture. Organic agriculture is based on circulating agriculture of a family farm unit. However, as of the end of 2016, only 33 out of the total organic farming farms were implementing Crop-Livestock cycling organic farming. The reason seems to be a matter of income after all. The optimal size combination refers to the scale by which family farms can maintain their quality of life while engaging in farming activities. In other words. it is a farm scale that maintains optimal income through stable labor costs. In the meantime, there has been no previous study on the optimal economical combination of Crop-Livestock cycling farming. Choi (2016) analyzed whether the economies of scope (EOS) were realized in the combined production by using the management data of the farmers who practiced Crop-Livestock cycling organic farming for four years. As a result, it has been revealed that the EOS measurement value is 0 or more so the economies of scope are being realized. Therefore, the purpose of this empirical analysis is to identify farm incomes under this circumstance. It is assumed that the optimum production is achieved by balancing the total income curve and the total cost curve in the optimal scale production range. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the income after the conversion to Crop-Livestock cycling farming was 44,789,280 won, the sum of the seedling-livestock sector, which was 17,873,120 won higher when the non-Crop-Livestock cycling farming was assumed. The same is true for 2014 and 2015. The reason for this is that pig droppings were composted from organic seedlings, and the cost of selling pork was 150,000 won/per pig more expensive even though the manufacturing cost of organic feeds was higher than the purchasing cost. Secondly, this study simulated the result that the economic index varies when the farm size combination is changed by the farm size of 100% standard (S100) as of 2014. S130 is the increase in size from 100% of 2014, whereas S30 is the result of 3ha crop and 66 livestock (pigs). As a result of this simulation, Crop-Livestock cycling farming income decreased more than non-Crop-Livestock cycling farming as the farm size decreased, whereas the income decreased as the farm size increased. When the size was reduced below S50, the income tended to decrease. In this situation, EOS changed in the same direction. The results showed that when the farming size was reorganized and reduced to 50% compared to 2014, the income and income difference was the highest. At the same time, economies of scope (EOS) were the highest at 0.12985. In other words, it was found that the income of farm houses in a family farm unit sector was the best in the combination of 1.5ha crop agriculture and 110 livestock (pigs).
This study evaluated the influence of light quality and intensity during healing and acclimatization on the $CO_2$ exchange rate, growth, and morphogenesis of grafted pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) transplants, using a system for the continuous measurement of the $CO_2$ exchange rate. C. annuum L. 'Nokkwang' and 'Tantan' were used as scions and rootstocks, respectively. Before grafting, the transplants were grown for four weeks in a growth chamber with artificial light, where the temperature was set at $25/18^{\circ}C$ (light/dark period) and the light period was 14 hours $d^{-1}$. The grafted pepper transplants were then healed and acclimatized under different light quality conditions using fluorescent lamps (control) and red, blue, and red + blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs). All the transplants were irradiated for 12 hours per day, for six days, at a photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) of 50, 100, or 180 ${\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. The higher PPF levels increased the $CO_2$ exchange rate during the healing and acclimatization. A smaller increase in the $CO_2$ exchange rates was observed in the transplants under red LEDs. At a PPF of 180 ${\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, the $CO_2$ exchange rate of the transplants irradiated with red LEDs was lowest and it was 37% lower than those irradiated with fluorescent lamps. The $CO_2$ exchange rates of transplants irradiated with blue LEDs was the highest and 20% higher than those irradiated under fluorescent lamps. The graft take was not affected by the light quality. The grafted pepper transplants irradiated with red LEDs had a lower SPAD value, leaf dry weight, and dry matter content. The transplants irradiated with blue LEDs had longer shoot length and heavier stem fresh weight than those irradiated with the other treatments. Leaves irradiated with the red LED had the smallest leaf area and showed leaf epinasty. In addition, the palisade and spongy cells of the pepper leaves were dysplastic and exhibited hyperplasia. Grafted pepper transplants treated with red + blue LEDs showed similar growth and morphology to those transplants irradiated with fluorescent lamps. These results suggest that high-quality grafted pepper transplants can be obtained by healing and acclimatization under a combination of blue and red lights at a high PPF level.
Effects of substrates on the relative immigration activities (RIAs) of epilithic diatoms were examined in Sum River, a tributary of South Han River, Korea. Two hundreds of tile substrates coated with 5% agar were deposited at seven study stations (30 tiles per site) for one month from March 7 to April 7, 2008. Water sampling, physico-chemical factor measurement, and diatom analysis were performed in the field and laboratory. Over the study, major epilithic diatom species were Nitzschia amphibia, Navicula subminuscula, Cymbella minuta in both the natural and artificial substrates. Two dominant species, Nitzschia amphibia and Cymbella minuta often found at seven stations. Among all observed taxa, Nav. subminuscula and Caloneis silicula showed the highest RIA, with the value over 15 throughout the study. Regarding the algal morphology, the biraphe type species showed higher RIA than any other morph, while they comprised over 55% of total biomass, indicating a density effect. Additionally, a significant relationship between RIA and 20-day deposited substrate (p<0.05) showed in two diatom species, Nitzschia fonticola, Gomphonema quadripunctatum, which showed relatively high RIAs. These results indicate that the relative immigration activities of epilithic diatom species can be influenced by algal density in the water and substrate, nutrients, and deposited time at least 20 days.

Library standards have been the source of considerable controversy, whereas many problems are involved in developing stardard for university library collections. For evaluation purposes, standards should be precise, quantifiable and measurable. In the United States, however, standards for academic libraries are limited to qualitative statements and principles. Quantitative standards, when given, are ususally related to the number of population in the institution being served, or the prescribed quantitative objectives are often arbitrarily formulated by value judgements. The study in this paper attempts to explain the problems involved in developing quantitative standard for academic library collections. Two problems facing in the formulation of the optimal size of collection are identified. One is the theoretically faulty concept of adequacy of collection to meet the situations of diversity of university libraies, and the other is the difficulties in quantification and measurement, along with the lack of concept of adequacy of collection. However, quantification of adequate size of collection is proved to be useful on the pratical level, even though not valid theoretically. ACRL, Clapp/Jordan and Voigt developed formulas or models for setting the optimal size of a library collection for any particular university library. The main purpose of this study is the analysis of the above formulas. ACRL standard was drawn from obervation and analysis of statistcs in leading library collections. In academic field, this judgement appears to have been based on the assumption that a high-grade institution would be apt to have a good library collection. This study criticizes ACRL standard for its failure to include some determinants of measurements, and points out the limitations of the standard. In contrast. Clapp/Jordan developed a formula rather scientifically based upon bibliographical sources. This is similarly empirical but has the advantage of bringing into play the elements which make universities diverse in nature. Both ACRL and Clapp/Jordan formulas share two major defects. (1) the specific subject needs of the collection are not indiacted directly, and (2) percentage rate of growth is an indicator in measuring the potential utility of a collection. Thus both formulas failed to provide a basis for meaningful evaluation. Voigt further developed a model for determining acquisition rates for currently published materials based on bibliographic technique. Voigt model encourages experimentation with different programs and different allocations of input resources, designed to meet the needs of the library's particular population. Standard for university library collections can be formulated in terms of input(traditional indicator), or additionally, in terms of output(cost-effectiveness). Cost effectiveness is expressed as user satisfaction, ability to provide wanted materials within a reasonable time period. Thus simple quantitative method does not cover all the situations of diversity of university library collections, nor measures the effectiveness of collections. Valid standard could not be established without further research.

This study attempted to determine whether Photostimulated Luminescence (PSL) is applicable for the detection of post-irradiated foods by measuring the PSL photon counts of unirradiated and irradiated dried spices and herbs. A total of 19 dried spices and herbs was irradiated with a $^{60}Co$$\gamma$-ray source at 1, 5 and 10 kGy followed by measurement of PSL photon. The photon counts of unirradiated samples below 700 correspond to negative. Fifteen samples irradiated over 1 kGy showed photon counts of more than 5,000, indicating irradiation treatment. Intermediate counts (photon count 700-5,000) were observed in irradiated white/black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon bark at 10 kGy. These results suggest that it is possible to detect whether dried spices and herbs were irradiated by analyzing PSL, with the exception of white/black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon bark. Irradiated white/black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon bark containing low levels of minerals were not sensitive to PSL. Therefore, further investigation is sugguested to be performed by Thermoluminescence (TL) analysis or another validated or standardized method.
