  • The aim of this paper is to suggest a design guideline for a teaching assistant robot by finding out images that satisfy the role of the teaching assistant robot, and to search for a body features that show such images. Role images of teaching assistant robots were established from literature review and factor analysis. And eight elements of body features were extracted from human's elements of body feature. Robot external form samples varied according to the body feature was modeled three-dimensionally. Children, who are the main users of teaching assistant robots, valuated the 3D robot samples projected onto wall in real size. The valuation basis was role images of teaching assistant robots, adjectives about age and gender, preference, and appropriateness as teaching assistant robots. The result of valuation was analyzed by analysis of variance, and analysis of correlation. The result revealed the fact that four elements of body feature (the ratio of head length, height, the ratio of breast girth, and waist girth) were related to role images. Among these elements, height and waist girth was more important than the rest, particularly, waist girth had strong relation with all the role images. Also, in order to reveal tender and kind image, the ratio of head length was proved to have to be adjusted according to waist girth. On the basis of these result, a design guideline for a teaching assistant robot was suggested.

  • The current study attempted to assess the environmental value of Geum-river estuary for rational management decision-making. To investigate the comprehensive properties of the Geum-river estuary, we applied the contingent valuation method based on multi-attribute utility theory. We surveyed a randomly selected sample of 400 and 600 households of the Geum-river estuary-neighboring area (Jeollabuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do), and other nation-wide large districts (except Jeollabuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do, and Jeju-do), respectively, and carried out person-to-person interviews with subjects on their willingness-to-pay for the estuary conservation and management program. Respondents, overall, accepted the contingent market system and were willing to contribute a significant amount, that is 1,497 won for the residents from the Geum-river estuary-neighboring area and 4,343 won for the residents from other nation-wide large districts on average, per household per year. These results implied that there were large difference between the two groups. The aggregate values of the Geum-river estuary for the estuary-neighboring area and other nation-wide large districts amount to 2.13 and 70.15 billion won, respectively, per year. This quantitative value deduced from the current study, could be a useful baseline fact for any decision-making process particularly in the establishment of management policies for the Geum-river estuary.

  • This paper attempts to quantitatively assess the public value that has been assigned to this government plan by employing a contingent valuation technique. Data gathering performed that professional research firm administrated a face-to-face national survey of 1,000 randomly-selected households. A one-and-one-half-bound model was adopted to elicit willingness to pay (WTP) responses, and the payment vehicle used was income tax. The WTP model used in this study is based on a utility difference approach and the spike model. The results showed that the public value of conserving green turtles was estimated to be 2,570 Korean Won per household over the next 10 years as of 2016, statistically significant at the 1% level. Expanding the values considered to include the national population gives a public value of 48.7 billion Korean Won. Thus, the public value of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing green turtles that have been caught by fishermen, collided with fishing boats, and died in nets through the government program is not small.

  • This study accomplished technology improvement assessment of Gashydrate R&D project using ANP method which can deal with the sophisticated decisions involving a variety of interactions and dependencies. Criteria were selected by consultation and questionnaires with experts in four technology parts of gas hydrate project, and then the network was formed from relation with criteria and alternatives. As the result of analysis, the weight matrix was derived and the various relation in the network was able to be verified. The analysis was accomplished with four technology parts - geophysical exploration technology, geological and geochemical technology, analysis of deep-drill cores and stability technology, production technology - and the 'reliability' criterion ranked the highest of all parts. The rank of other criteria and the result of technology improvement assessment reflected the level of each technology. Thus, the result of this study will contribute to policy decision-making for developing and evaluating gas hydrate technology and other R&D projects.

  • It is very important that we try to keep our traditional historical assets in the original form for a long time. Seoggur-Am has a very long and old history of about 1200 years. Yet, for the past several years there are many factors ruinning this historical treasure. Recently, specialist are new scientifically examining Seoggur-Am and evaluating its current condition, If you only judge these historical assets from the exterior structural environmental approach your scientific conclusion will not be complete. No one has studied Seoggur-Am from the viewpoint of indoor environmental climate. Therefore, I have surveyed and prepared a report of investigation as well as countermeasure so to understand the impact of indoor environmental climate on Seoggur-Am. The purpose of this paper is to first survey the existing research data based on exterior structural environment. Secondly, closely evaluate the new data of Seoggur-Am from the viewpoint of indoor environmental climate.

  • Micromachining technology using a ultra-precision micromachining system is widely applied in the fields of optics, biotechnology and analytical chemistry, etc. specially in microfabrication of fresnel lens, light guide panels of TFT-LED and PDP ribs with micro-patterns, machining errors have an effect on the performance of those products. The deflection of tool and tool holder is known to be one of the very important factors that is due to machining errors in micromachining. The deflections of diamond tool and tool holder used in micro-grooving are analysed by FEM. We analysed by FEM. With an linearity valuation of FEM, deflection of tool and tool holder is calculated by using the data of cutting force which is acquired from micro-V groove machining experiments in micromachining system.

  • In this study, we found that it is important to have a specific management of standards which are the $12{\pm}3{\mu}m$ of plating thickness and $2{\pm}1%$ of tuning. To verify these standards, we checked the plating thickness and density of tuning through marginal valuation of each and checked size of a plating particle, adhesion of solder and condition of reflow after a section chief.

  • Let 𝓗0 be the set of rings R such that Nil(R) = Z(R) is a divided prime ideal of R. The concept of maximal non φ-chained subrings is a generalization of maximal non valuation subrings from domains to rings in 𝓗0. This generalization was introduced in [20] where the authors proved that if R ∈ 𝓗0 is an integrally closed ring with finite Krull dimension, then R is a maximal non φ-chained subring of T(R) if and only if R is not local and |[R, T(R)]| = dim(R) + 3. This motivates us to investigate the other natural numbers n for which R is a maximal non φ-chained subring of some overring S. The existence of such an overring S of R is shown for 3 ≤ n ≤ 6, and no such overring exists for n = 7.

  • The aim of this work is to analyse and discuss the use of the Economic Evaluation and of some new "metrics" for an appropriate valuation of membrane operations in the logic of Process Intensification. In particular, the proposed approach has the goal to show how the utilized indicators can drive to the choice of the most convenient process. Although in this work the planned procedure is applied, as a case study, to the membrane-based systems for boron and arsenic removal from waters, the suggested approach can be generally applied to any other process of interest.
