Funtional metal prototypes are often required in numerous industrial applications. These components are typically needed in the early stage of a project to determine form, fit and function. Recent R/P(Rapid Prototyping) part are made of soft materials such as plastics, wax, paper, these master models cannot be employed durable test in real harsh working environment. Parts by direct metal rapid tooling method, such as laser sintering, by now are hard to get net shape, pores of the green parts of powder casting method must be infiltrated to get proper strength as tool, and new type of 3D direct tooling system combining fabrication welding arc and cutting process is reported by song etc. But a system which can build directly 3D parts of high performance functional material as metal part would need long period of system development, massive investment and other serious obstacles, such as patent. In this paper, through the rapid tooling process as silicon rubber molding using R/P master model, and fabricate wax pattern in that silicon rubber mold using vacuum casting method, then we tranlsated the wax patterns to numerous metal prototypes by new investment casting process combined conventional investment casting with rapid pototyping & rapid tooling process. with this wax-injection-mold-free investment casting, we developed new investment casting process of fabricating numerous functional metal prototypes from one master model, combined 3-D CAD, R/P and conventional investment casting and tried to expect net shape measuring total dimension shrinkage from R/P part to metal part.
Multiferroic materials have been widely studied in recent years, because of their abundant physics and potential applications in the sensors, data storage, and spintronics. $BiFeO_3$ is one of the well-known single-phase multiferroic materials with $ABO_3$ structure and G-type antiferromagnetic behavior below the Neel temperature $T_N$ ~ 643 K, but the ferroelectric behavior below the Curie temperature $T_c$~1,103 K. In this study, the $BiFe_{1-x}Ni_xO_3$ (x=0 and 0.05) bulk ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction and rapid sintering with high-purity $Bi_2O_32$, $Fe_3O_4$ and NiO powders. The powders of stoichiometric proportions were mixed, as in the previous investigations, and calcined at 450$^{\circ}C$ for $BiFe_{1-x}Ni_xO_3$ for 24 h. The obtained powders were grinded, and pressed into 5-mm-thick disks of 1/2-inch diameter. The disks were directly put into the oven, which has been heated up to 800$^{\circ}C$ and sintered in air for 20 min. The sintered disks were taken out from the oven and cooled to room temperature within several min. The phase of samples was checked at room temperature by powder x-ray diffraction using a Rigaku Miniflex diffractometer with Cu K${\alpha}$ radiation. The Raman measurements were carried out by employing a hand-made Raman spectrometer with 514.5-nm-excitation $Ar^+$ laser source under air ambient condition on a focused area of 1-${\mu}m$ diameter. The field-dependent magnetization measurements were performed with a superconducting quantum-interference-device magnetometer.
Recently, demand for thermally stable metal nanoparticles suitable for chemical reactions at high temperatures has increased to the point to require a solution to nanoparticle coalescence. Thermal stability of metal nanoparticles can be achieved by adopting core-shell models and encapsulating supported metal nanoparticles with mesoporous oxides [1,2]. However, to understand the role of metal-support interactions on catalytic activity and for surface analysis of complex structures, we developed a novel catalyst design by coating an ultra-thin layer of titania on Pt supported silica ($SiO_2/Pt@TiO_2$). This structure provides higher metal dispersion (~52% Pt/silica), high thermal stability (~600$^{\circ}C$) and maximization of the interaction between Pt and titania. The high thermal stability of $SiO_2/Pt@TiO_2$ enabled the investigation of CO oxidation studies at high temperatures, including ignition behavior, which is otherwise not possible on bare Pt nanoparticles due to sintering [3]. It was found that this hybrid catalyst exhibited a lower activation energy for CO oxidation because of the metal-support interaction. The concept of an ultra-thin active metal oxide coating on supported nanoparticles opens-up new avenues for synthesis of various hybrid nanocatalysts with combinations of different metals and oxides to investigate important model reactions at high-temperatures and in industrial reactions.

Ultrathin oxide encapsulated metal-oxide hybrid nanocatalysts have been fabricated by a soft chemical and facile route. First, SiO2 nanoparticles of 25~30 nm size have been synthesized by modified Stobber's method followed by amine functionalization. Metal nanoparticles (Ru, Rh, Pt) capped with polymer/citrate have been deposited on functionalized SiO2 and finally an ultrathin layer of TiO2 coated on surface which prevents sintering and provides high thermal stability while maximizing the metal-oxide interface for higher catalytic activity. TEM studies confirmed that 2.5 nm sized metal nanoparticles are well dispersed and distributed throughout the surface of 25 nm SiO2 nanoparticles with a 3-4 nm TiO2 ultrathin layer. The metal nanoparticles are still well exposed to outer surface, being enabled for surface characterization and catalytic activity. Even after calcination at $600^{\circ}C$, the structure and morphology of hybrid nanocatalysts remain intact confirm the high thermal stability. XPS spectra of hybrid nanocatalyst suggest the metallic states as well as their corresponding oxide states. The catalytic activity has been evaluated for high temperature CO oxidation reaction as well as photocatalytic H2 generation under solar simulation. The design of hybrid structure, high thermal stability, and better exposure of metal active sites are the key parameters for the high catalytic activity. The maximization of metal-TiO2 interface interaction has the great role in photocatalytic H2 production.

Machining pressed compacts of ceramic and WC-Co materials can be the most cost effective way of forming the bodies prior to sintering when the required number of pieces is small. In this study, in order to clarify the machinability for turning, the $Si_3N_4$ and the WC-Co green compacts unsintered were machined under different cutting conditions with various tools. Absorbing chips by vacuum hose decreases tool wear. The tool wear becomes larger in the order of the ceramic, CBN and cemented carbide tools in machining the $Si_3N_4$ green compacts. In machining the WC-Co green compacts, the tool wear becomes larger in the order of the ceramic, cemented carbide and CBN tools. The land of cutting edge does not affect tool wear. When machining with cemented carbide tool, the tool wear i equal cutting length is nearly identical in spite of the increase of cutting spee, and the roughness of machined surface was the best in the cutting speed of 90 m/min. The tool wear decreases with the increase of rake angle and relief angle and with the decrease of nose radius. The machined surfaces become worse with the increase of feed rate and depth of cut, and with the decrease of rake angle and relief angle. The tool wear is not affected by the feed and depth of cut.
