A Study on the Development Strategy of VR Game Content by Group Based on Conjoint Analysis (컨조인트 분석을 통한 집단별 VR게임콘텐츠의 개발 전략에 관한 연구)

  • VR(Virtual Reality), which has drawn attention as a major area in ICT, is currently being used in various fields, including medical care, movies and architecture. Although VR technology is used in various fields, contents are mainly developed by creators where needs of users are easily left out of consideration leading to failure in forming a consensus between UI(User Interface) and UX(user experience). To identify the consumer preference and attribute level of VR game content, which is responsible for the largest proportion of VR contents, this study was designed to examine the consumers' preference properties of VR game contents through a Conjoint Analysis and derive the relative importance and weightings of each group. The study collected 166 questionnaires over a total of three months from May to July 2019, 150 of which were completed (90.4%). Statistic analysis was conducted using SPSS Ver. 25.0. The results of the study showed that the genre of the game (42.6%), number of players (24.0%), price for payment (20.3%) and game planning (13.1%) were important attributes in choosing VR games. The optimal mix of attributes was derived with new games, RPGs, multi-play and medium price (22,000 KRW). Before mentioning technology in the expectations of users who use VR game content, which is the most preferred among VR contents, this study recognized the need to have a fun and new experience through VR game content. Therefore, it is expected that this will serve as a reference for consumer behavior of VR game contents and research on VR game contents development.

Design and verification of VR gamification contents for cooperative thinking (협력적 사고 함양을 위한 VR 게이미피케이션 콘텐츠 설계 및 검증)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of cooperative thinking and communication ability through gamified VR contents. For the experiment, we designed the Forum VR content using gamification approach and validated its effectiveness with a survey tool. The experiment was answered after 63 elementary school students played the Forum VR content. According to the survey results, Forum VR content has positive effects on the development of collaborative spirit and communication skills of elementary school students. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to study the systematic and technical measures to spread VR contents at educational sites, and to differentiate them according to the characteristics of the curriculum for connecting various educational topics and VR contents.

  • Recently, interest in safety education based on VR has been increasing, but it started rising doubts are growing over its effectiveness. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis project is to research the current status of safety education contents based on VR and present situations and future prospects for safety education based on VR. As a result of researching about safety education contents using VR, the movement or condition of characters in the contents in the VR environment was very unnatural. Especially, in simulations such as driving a VR device, the controller was skeptical about its efficiency because the operation was different from the actual environment. As a result, we would like to make suggestions and forecasts as follows: First, the production of real and twin environment in VR should be realized. Second, the natural movement of the character should be performed. Third, various controllers should be released in VR devices. Fourth, a realistic scenario should be developed.

A Study on The Application of VR Technology for The Contents of Petroglyph Museum (VR기술을 활용한 암각화 박물관의 콘텐츠 개발 연구)

  • The Petroglyph is a drawing on the rock which reflects the art, religion, myth, and life style of prehistoric society. Recently lots of researches have been studied to develop the contents applying the petroglyphs in the fields of exhibition, education, entertainment, and commercial. This research aims to find some possible VR contents based on the petroglyphs text. The review on the Ulsan petroglyph museum which is the first and the only petroglyph museum in Korea was the first step. Some limitation and problems were found in the current contents which could be overcome by using VR technology. The next step was the overall review of VR system and devices, and then I analyzed five cases of VR contents which specifically applied to the cultural heritages. Based on the analysis of case studies I propose some possible VR contents more immersive and interactive covered with whole range of petroglyphs context, environmental, social, cultural, technical and artistic.

  • This study reviewed research and design directions on VR-Tangible interaction and explored market-driven approach of VR-tangible interaction applications. As a case study, we studied autism remedy system based on VR-tangible interaction design. Literature and field study has done on autism and its remedy methodologies. Based on observation process about patients, therapists, and remedy programs, interaction factors for autism remedy are found and then design strategy, system configuration, and remedy contents scenarios are set up to solve time and resource problems, presence problems, and efficiency issues of remedy results.

The Effect of 360-degree VR Tourism Contents Motivations, Flow, Continuance Usage Intention on Visit Intention - For Chinese Student in Korea (360° VR 관광 콘텐츠의 이용동기, 플로우, 지속사용의도가 방문의도에 미치는 영향 - 한국 체류 중국인 유학생 대상으로)

  • Recently, tourism and leisure related VR contents have gained attention of potential tourists. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze investigate the effects of 360-degree VR tourism contents motivations, flow, continuance usage intention on visit intention for Chinese student in Korea. This study found that hedonic benefit and personal benefit exerted a positive influence on visit intention of contents users. However, vividness and usability did not influence on visit intention. Moreover, flow exerted a significant influence on visit intention but continuance usage intention did not influence on visit intention. The study is significant in shedding light on whether the motivations, flow, continuance usage intention of 360-degree VR tourism contents influences visit intention. It is suggested that the consumption of 360-degree VR tourism contents can be a useful marketing tool for strength of intention to visit.

  • Recently as a result of covid 19, it has emphasis on the importance of non-contact. VR content has been attracting attention as an alternative to visual arts, media art, new media exhibitions and performances with limited offline activities. Although interest in 360 VR video contents such as VR contents for exhibitions and performances is increasing, research on immersion and satisfaction is focused on games and animation VR contents. In this paper, it verified the effect of the difference in the position and height of the VR camera in exhibitions and performances on the user's presence and satisfaction. For this experiment, the presence and satisfaction were measured after experiencing the VR contents of the convergence exhibition and performance filmed at different locations and heights. As a result of the experiment, the difference of VR camera's position had a significant effect on presence and satisfaction, the difference of VR camera's height had a significant effect only Realistic immersion of the presence.

  • 본 논문에서는 VR 시뮬레이션 플랫폼의 프레임 웍에 기반하여 게임 엔진을 활용한 통합훈련 VR 시뮬레이션 플랫폼을 제작하고 그 사례를 소개한다. 본 VR 시뮬레이션 플랫폼을 활용하면 전문 직종 종사자들이 아닌 일반인들이 실생활에서 겪을 수 있는 재난 상황에 대해 행동요령을 훈련할 수 있다. 이 VR 시뮬레이션 플랫폼은 재난 상황에 대해 반복적이고 안전하게 행동요령을 익힐 수 있으며, 본 제작 과정은 VR 시뮬레이션 플랫폼 개발의 제작단계에서 유용하게 참고 될 자료라 사료된다.

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대의 핵심 기술 분야라고 불리는 가상현실(Virtual Realityl VR)/증강현실(Augmented Reality; AR) 기술은 그 동안 IT 시장을 주도해 온 스마트폰 시장이 포화상태에 도달함에 따라 주요 IT기업들의 차세대 비즈니스로 떠오르고 있으며, 미디어 플랫폼인 VR에 대한 연구 또한 계속해서 진행되고 있다. 또한 최근 들어 디스플레이 해상도가 높아지고 PC의 성능이 좋아지면서 많은 회사에서 VR 콘텐츠에 대응하여 VR기기를 출시하고 있다. 하지만 아직까지 VR에 대한 호환성 테스팅 방법은 제대로 제시되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 연구를 통해서 효과적이고 효율적인 호환성 테스트 방법을 제시한다.

Effect of Flow Factors on the Continuing Use of VR video Contents and HMD (플로우(flow)의 요인이 VR 영상콘텐츠와 HMD의 지속이용에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Recently, VR technology has been able to enjoy VR content using HMD due to changes in hardware and displays. VR video contents and HMD are becoming interactive through human senses and computer interfaces. Based on flow based on VR user's perspective, VR video contents and HMD were approached as subjects for continuous use. The components of the independent variable Flow were set up in real life, immersion, and interaction. Data from 400 male and female users of 450 users commissioned by the survey agency were used in the study. Research shows that first flow influences VR video contents and continuous use. Second, flow has been shown to affect HMD and its continued use. Among the flow factors that enhance the persistence of VR video content and HMD, which act as the greatest influence was studied. Through this research, the company aims to help establish direction of the next-generation VR industry
