Thermochromic Property of Tungsten Doped VO2 Prepared by Hydrothermal Method (수열합성법으로 제조된 텅스텐이 도핑된 VO2의 열변색 특성)

  • Vanadium oxide ($VO_2$) and tungsten-doped vanadium oxide (W-$VO_2$) powder, well known as thermochromic materials, were prepared from vanadium pentoxide ($V_2O_5$) and oxalic acid dihydrate by hydrothermal and calcination process. The crystal structure and thermochromic property of samples were analyzed using FE-SEM, XRD, XPS, DSC, and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy. With increasing the doping amount of W, the phase transition temperature of W-$VO_2$ sample decreased from $70^{\circ}C$ to $42^{\circ}C$. When heating W-$VO_2$ sample above the phase transition temperature, the UV-Vis-NIR spectrum was not changed in the visible range and shifted towards a low transparency in the full name (NIR) region.

  • $VO_2$ thermistor was fabricated on $Al_2O_3$ substrate. and has a CTR (Critical Temperature Resistor) characteristic. $VO_2$ thermistor has a about $10^6$ resistance($\Omega$) in normal temperature. But When temperature is a about $80^{\circ}C$, Resistance of $VO_2$ thermistor is a about some hundred resistance: The resistance of $VO_2$ thermistor increased with increasing length and decreasing width.

The Phase Transition and Thermochromic Characteristics of W/Mg-codoped Monoclinic VO2 Nanoparticle and Its Composite Film

  • Monoclinic $VO_2(M)$ nanoparticles codoped with 1.5 at. % W and 2.9 at. % Mg were synthesized by the hydrothermal treatment and post-thermal transformation method of $V_2O_5-H_2C_2O_4-H_2O$ with $Na_2WO_4$ and $Mg(NO_3)_2$. The composite thin film of the W/Mg-codoped $VO_2(M)$ with a commercial acrylic block copolymer was also prepared on PET substrate by wet-coating method. The reversible phase transition characteristics of the codoped $VO_2(M)$ nanoparticles and the composite film were investigated from DSC, resistivity and Vis-NIR transmittance measurements compared with the undoped and Wdoped $VO_2(M)$ samples. Mg-codoping into W-doped $VO_2(M)$ nanoparticles synergistically enhanced the transition characteristics by increasing the sharpness of transition while the transition temperature ($T_c$) lowered by W-doping was maintained. The codoped composite film showed the prominently enhanced NIR switching efficiency compared to only W-doped $VO_2(M)$ film with a lowered $T_c$.

  • In order to investigate the photo-electric property in $VO_2$ film grown by a sol-gel method, the currents generated by the light irradiation and nonirradiation were measured as functions of the bias voltage and the temperature. From the result, the generated current in the film changed with the light irradiation and nonirradiation, and it gradually increased with the bias voltage. In particular, the maximum current was generated at $50^{\circ}C$ under the light irradiation; the temperature is lower comparing the MIT (metal-insulator transition) temperature in $VO_2$. This result indicates that $VO_2$ shows the photo-voltaic effect, and so that, it is expected that the $VO_2$ film is applied for a photo-voltaic device.

  • The kinetics of the reaction of $[Mo_3O_4(H_2O)_9]^{4+}$ with $VO_2^+$have been studied at $25^{\circ}C$ by spectrophotometric method. With$VO_2^+$ in excess, the $[Mo_3O_4(H_2O)_9]^{4+}$ reaction can be expressed as $Mo^{IV}_3+6V^V{\rightleftarrows}3Mo^{IV}+6V^IV}$. Observed rate constants for the reaction are dependent on [$H^+$] and [$VO_2^+$]. Mechanism for the redox of $[Mo_3O_4(H_2O)_9]^{4+}$and $VO_2^+$ is proposed and discussed.

  • In this study, we propose the multiple VoIP service networks for P2P network environments based on portable internet. We found that voiceservice using portable internet is possible for real time services. After we designe the multiple VoIP service networks for P2P network environments based on portable internet, evaluate the performances. from the performance evaluations, we found satisfactory results and so we can expect the possibility of the portable internet services.

  • VoIP that conveys voice in internet is getting into the spotlight as means to alternate existing PSTN in corporation as well as users. Current VoIP is furnishing voice efficiently, but it needs to support various services for VoIP acceleration. IETF is developing CPL standard which is call processing language for supporting various services. User has to store script to specific server for the use of CPL, therefore it is required client to support CPL. This paper describes about design and implementation of SP-based CPL client for various services. The CPL client was implemented using LINUX 2.4.x, C, and GTK1.2.

  • Currently, VoIP service related companies have different telephone number system according to the problem of VoIP which Have no unique number system, and they develop/use different number bits, shortening button, and so on. In this paper, for solving this problem, we analyzed the standadization trend of ITU-T and IEIE, and reserched domestic trend of VoIP number system standardization trend and use case of number system of VoIP services. According to this, we proposes three number allocation plan that satisfies the globe trend, simpleness of number allocation, and VoIP service provider's actual conditions.

Temperature vs. Resistance Characteristics by Dopants of VO2 Thick-Film Critical Temperature Sensors (불순물 첨가에 따른 VO2 후막 급변온도센서의 온도-저항 특성)

  • For various additives doped-$VO_2$ critical temperature sensors using the nature of semiconductor to metal transition, the crystallinity, microstructure, and temperature vs. resistance characteristics were systematically investigated. As a starting material of $VO_2$ sensor, vanadium pentoxide ($V_2O_5$) powders were used, and CaO, SrO, $Bi_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, and PbO dopants were used, respectively. The $V_2O_5$ powders with dopants were mixed with a vehicle to form paste. This paste was silk screen-printed on $Al_2O_3$ substrates and then $V_2O_5$-based thick films were heat-treated at $500^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours in $N_2$ gas atmosphere for the reduction to $VO_2$. From X-ray diffraction analysis, $VO_2$ phases for pure $VO_2$, and CaO and SrO-doped $VO_2$ thick films were confirmed and their grain sizes were 0.57 to $0.59{\mu}m$. The on/off resistance ratio of the $VO_2$ sensor in phase transition temperature range was $5.3{\times}10^3$ and that of the 0.5 wt.% CaO-doped $VO_2$ sensor was $5.46{\times}10^3$. The presented critical temperature sensors could be commercialized for fire-protection and control systems.

  • Internet telephone uses VoIP as its communication protocol, where it provides various additional services with inexpensive fare when the terminal is connected to the Internet. The existing auto provisioning systems that manage Internet telephone terminals are targeting large size VoIP service providers or enterprises, and has few consideration on the convenience of management for small size environments. The difficult installation and management procedures of the current auto provisioning systems prevents Internet telephone system from getting popular. Easy installation and management system is needed in order to spread out Internet telephone system. In this paper, we design and implement the auto provisioning system that provides easy installation and management services in small size environments such as SOHO environments.
