LARGE EDDY SIMULATION OF FULLY TURBULENT WAVY CHANNEL FLOW USING RESIDUAL-BASED VARIATIONAL MULTI-SCALE METHOD (변분다중스케일법을 이용한 파형벽면이 있는 채널 난류 유동의 대와류모사)

  • Turbulent flows with wavy wall are simulated using Residual-based Variational Multiscale Method (RB-VMS) which is proposed by Bazilves et al(2007) as new Large Eddy Simulation methodology. Incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are integrated using Isogeometric analysis which adopt the basis function as NURBS. The Reynolds number is 6760 based on the bulk velocity and averaged channel height. And the amplitude (${\alpha}/{\lambda}$) of wavy wall is 0.05. The computational domain is $2{\lambda}{\times}1.05{\lambda}{\times}{\lambda}$ in the streamwise, wall normal and spanwise direction. Mean quantities and turbulent statistics near wavy wall are compared with DNS results of Cherukat et al.(1998). The predicted results show good agreement with reference data.

  • Presented in the paper is an approach to developing an intelligent mold shop as a means to overcome the difficulties faced by mold-makers due to skill shortages and increased global competition. A machine shop where as much as of the human skills are replaced by a set of intelligent systems is called an intelligent machine shop, and an intelligent mold-making machine shop is called an intelligent mold shop(MS). By analyzing the contents of operator's skill. three intelligent S/W stations have been designed: Technical Data Processing(TDP) Station, Loading Schedule Station, and Real-time Monitoring Station. A detailed architecture of the TDP station is described, and measures of effectiveness of IMS are elaborated.

  • In this paper, the efficient layout method for generating common and continuous cutting path of flat-bar profile. The ‘flat -bar’ is a stiffener and has long rectangular shape. This paper describes a fast nesting algorithm of the flat-bar, and a procedure to generate cutting path of gas/plasma torch, which is operated by a NC (numerically controlled) gas/plasma cutting machine. By using this common and continuous path, the machining-time for cutting and the maintenance-cost of plasma-torch could be reduced. Proposed procedures are written in C-language and applied to the Interactive Flat-Bar-Nesting System executable on Open VMS with X-Window system.

The On-Line Voltage Management and Control Solution of Distribution Systems Based on the Pattern Recognition Method

  • This paper proposes an on-line voltage management and control solution for a distribution system which can improve the efficiency and accuracy of existing off-line work by collecting customer voltage on-line as well as the voltage compensation capability of the existing ULTC (Under Load Tap Changer) operation and control strategy by controlling the ULTC tap based on pattern clustering and recognition. The proposed solution consists of an ADVMD (Advanced Digital Voltage Management Device), a VMS (Voltage Management Solution) and an OLDUC (On-Line Digital ULTC Controller). An on-line voltage management emulator based on multi-thread programming and the shared memory method is developed to emulate on-line voltage management and digital ULTC control methodology based on the on-line collection of the customer's voltage. In addition, using this emulator, the effectiveness of the proposed pattern clustering and recognition based ULTC control strategy is proven for the worst voltage environments for three days.

  • 본 논문에서는 TMS320C549 를 사용하여 4 채널 G.729A 음성 부호화기를 실시간 구현하였으며, 실제로 음성 사서함 서비스 시스템에 응용하였다. 구현된 G.729A 는 패널 당 부호화기와 복호화기에 각각 14.5MIPS 와 3.6 MIPS 를 소요하였으며, 메모리는 코드와 데이터 부분에 각각 9.88K 워드, 1.69 K 워드를 필요로 하였다. 결과적으로 개발된 VMS 시스템에는 두 개의 DSP 를 사용하여 DSP 당 4 채널씩 총 8 채널을 수용하였다. 실험 결과, ITU-T에서 제공된 모든 테스트 벡터 결과와 비트 단위로 동일하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 가변안내표지판(VMS)용 멀티-채널 LED Driver IC를 설계 연구 하였다. 설계한 LED Driver IC의 채널 수는 96 채널을 기본으로 하여 여분의 64채널을 추가로 구성하였다. VDD는 동작 환경에 따라 사용할 수 있게 12V, 6V, 3.3V로 구성하였다. 각 채널당 전류는 20mA로 일정한 전류가 흐를 수 있도록 하였다. 온도 변화에 따른 전류 변화로 인한 LED 휘도특성 변화를 줄이기 위해 트랜지스터를 여러단으로 쌓아 회로를 구성하였으며 내부 회로에 PTAT과 Bandgap Reference를 이용하여 트랜지스터에 안정적인 전원이 공급될 수 있게 구성하였다. 본 논문에 사용된 공정은 동부 0.13um 공정으로 최대 3.3V까지 사용할 수 있지만 12V및 6V에도 사용할 수 있게 트랜스지터를 쌓는 회로를 구성하였다.

  • 한국전력공사 전력연구원에서는 2005년 전력IT 과제인 "전력계통 무효전력 관리시스템 개발"을 통하여 '전압관리시스템(VMS, Voltage Management System'을 개발하여 시범사업지역인 제주지역에 설치, 스마트그리드 실증사업에 참여하여 2013년 까지 운영할 예정이다. 전압관리시스템은 발전기 등의 순동무효전력원을 제어하여 계통 전압을 유지하는 중앙집중형 전압/무효전력 제어기이다. 이와 함께 한국전력공사에서는 제주지역의 전압/무효전력 특성 개선을 위하여 신제주변전소, 한라변전소에 각각 50MVA급 STATCOM을 설치하여 2011년 하반기부터 운영에 들어갈 예정이다. STATCOM 설비는 국부적인 전압/무효전력 개선을 위한 순동 무효전력원이다. 본 논문에서는 중앙집중형 전압/무효전력제어기인 전압관리시스템과 국부적인 전압/무효전력제어기인 STATCOM과 병렬 운전 에 따른 효과를 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검토하였다.

  • 전력IT 성과물인 지능형송전, 능동형텔레메트리스, 디지털 변전, 배전지능화 시스템의 데이터를 CIM 기반의 국제 표준 프로토콜을 사용하여 취득할 SPG 주장치인 PGOMS를 구축하였다. 또한 전력계통의 안정도를 평가하는 위기관리시스템, 계통전압이 정격 범위내에서 유지되도록 발전기 출력 등을 자동제어하는 VMS(Voltage Management System)시스템. 송전선로용 볼센서, 변전소 주변압기 열화감시용 센서, GIS(Gas Insulation Switchgear) 감시용 센서 등을 사용하여 전력기기의 열화감시를 온라인 감시하는 능동형텔레메트릭스 시스템. 변전소내의 보호계전기와 제어부, 통신부가 통합된 (IED: Intelligent Electronic Device)기반의 디지털 변전시스템. 변전소 SCADA와 배전자동화를 하나의 시스템에서 처리하고, 분산전원을 통합 운영할 수 있는 배전지능화 시스템을 구축하였다.

  • From the 1978 Seasat synthetic aperture radar(SAR) to present systems, spaceborne SAR has demonstrated the capability to image the Earth's ocean and land features over broad areas, day and night, and under most weather conditions. The application of SAR for surveillance of commercial fishing grounds can did in the detection of illegal fishing activities and provides more efficient use cf limited aircraft or patron craft resources. In the area of vessel traffic monitoring for commercial vessels, Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) which uses the ground-based radar system has some difficulties in detecting moving ships due to the limited detection range cf about 10 miles. This paper introduces the field testing results of ship detection by RADARSAT SAR imagery, and proposes a new approach for a Vessel Monitoring System(VMS), including VTS, and SAR combination service.

  • A transportation problem is a serious theme to be solved urgently in the motor era of 20 million vehicles. Recently ITS has been introduced to optimize the efficiency of the current roads, because a excess budget and a long term construction are necessary to build new roads. In this paper an outline and major systems of ITS for Ulsan metropolitan city are presented.
