  • The progress of urbanization has been accelerated by the development of machinery after the Industrial Revolution and the speed of change has been increased after the invention of computers. However, the problem of residence, the space for human life in the city, is still not complete. Ever since apartments rose as a solution for the residential problem caused by urbanization after the 1970s and now after 30 years, remodelling is preferred among the 2 choices, reconstruction and remodelling of apartments, in respect of economy and efficiency. Especially, in remodelling collective residence, construction, equipment environment, sight, etc. are considered and only after testing these various aspects can remodelling succeed. Aiming at studying the need of visual identity among many considerations in remodelling, this study investigates and analyzes the remodelling cases of domestic and overseas common residence and suggests the need of visual identity. In Korea where construction design for common residence is monotonous, expressing visual identity can be even more important. The common residence area that symbolizes its unique characteristic will elevate not only its economic value but also the psychological value of its residents.

  • Information of video can be percieved as the form of visual rhythm through temporal ordering systems. The shot, the base unit of video analysis, affects audience psychologicaliy with various temporal combination. Here, psychological stress and density of the story can be adjusted by the point of view shot of character. Acordingly the correlation analysis of shot duration and point of view shot can be useful for visual rhythm research. Identity one of the thriller genre works was selected for analyzing.   • As expanding of service robots into the human life, the needs of robots are increased. The experts group forecasted that the robot market would grow rapidly in a short time, robot companies should compete with others for prior occupation in a market. In this research, we proposed a framework of robot identity design based on building methods of product identity and developed a case study. Identity is one of the strategies to distinguish from competitors through managing image united. It is possible to apply this identity approach on robot area, which was used for making image of companies, brands, and products. In general, identity has visual, invisual features, which can be classified into three elements; Robot Philosophy, Functional Affordance, Family Look. Robot philosophy means the vision or philosophy of a company through robot development, functional affordance is a character or role to serve and family look includes visual design elements like as shape, color, material, graphic, behavior etc. We suggest that this guide will be applied to build identity of following series of a model, models of same service group and all models of a company or commercial space.

  • A case study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of the visual components affecting the integrated identity design of Winter Olympics for its establishment. The targets of the investigation were limited to the Winter Olympics held after 2010, including the Vancouver, Sochi, and Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The first survey investigated the characteristics of the visual components, and the second survey analyzed the design characteristics, including connectivity, variability, expandability, and connectivity and could draw the following results. The integrated identity of Winter Olympics maintained the connectivity, providing the integrated recognition of visual components, and there was a variability according to its use. In addition, connective images were maintained with each other. However, it was noted that there was little expandability utilized flexibly according to the applied media in the emblem and slogan even in the various changes. Hopefully, these results will be utilized as the basic data for the development of integrated identity strategies, effective for the production of the design of the emblem of the Olympics in the future.
