This paper describes the safety assessment of power cable splices connecting different sized 6/10[kV] class power cables. To assess the safety, AC withstand voltage tests, partial discharge tests and impulse tests were carried out to the cable splice specimens and thermal rise due to overload and cross section of joint were examined as well. As a result, a breakdown due to the $4.5[U_0](27[kV_{ac}])$ application could not found for 5 minutes. Under $1.73[U_0](10.4[kV_{ac}])$ application, partial discharges of 4~8[pC] were detected. In impulse tests, all the specimens withstood to the standard waveforms of $75[kV_{peak}](1.2{\times}50[{\mu}s])$ without any breakdowns. In addition, the temperature on the splice rose by $3[^{\circ}C]$ when the 200[A] flew through the splice for 20minutes, however the thermal rise of $3[^{\circ}C]$ was considered due to the atmospheric temperature. After all the electrical tests, the cross section of the splice was visually examined. The conditions of the conductors of both $185[mm^2]$ and $240[mm^2]$ were good.
Several multilevel converter topologies have been proposed and compared. The three-level (3L) neutral-point-clamped (NPC) topology is promising and widely accepted. However, this topology suffers from uneven loss distribution among switches due to its fixed switching strategy. The 3L active NPC (ANPC) topology, which exhibits improved loss distribution profile, was proposed to address this disadvantage. The 3L T-NPC topology, a hybrid configuration of 2L and 3L NPC topologies, was introduced to address not only the loss distribution problem but also the reduction in the number of switches. In the present research, the application of these three topologies in PMSG-based medium-voltage wind turbines was investigated. The power devices considered were 10 kV IGCTs. Performance was evaluated in terms of a power loss of 10 kV IGCT for each NPC topology, which is a crucial indicator of thermal behavior, reliability, cost, and lifetime of any converter. The comparison was performed using ABB make 10 kV IGCT 5SHY17L9000 and the simulation tool PLECS.
Currently, to overcome the limit of a 14V power supply system and to enhance the stability of this system high and to make the fuel efficiency better, a research development of a 42V power supply system is actively the progress. As an intermediate step to change into an unity power supply system, a 42V/14V dual power supply system uses a DC/DC Converter as one of structure elements. Considering the main electric power sources in the next generation of the car is a 42V system a 14V power supply system has advantages as follows : In be managed efficiently and to increase the redundancy at start, to jump start with any vehicles, etc. We need the introduction of a hi-directional converter that can flow the energy each other in a dual 42V-l2V system. This paper proposed the ZVS hi-directional CUK DC/DC converter which decrease the weight with the size of the DC/DC Converter and minimize the loss when the switching happen. In this paper, a circuit design method and an action principle of the circuit was proposed. To verify the proposed circuit, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation results is presented.
In the present paper, we characterize, for a class of almost Kenmotsu manifolds, those that admit quasi Yamabe solitons. We show that if a (k, 𝜇)'-almost Kenmotsu manifold admits a quasi Yamabe soliton (g, V, 𝜆, 𝛼) where V is pointwise collinear with 𝜉, then (1) V is a constant multiple of 𝜉, (2) V is a strict infinitesimal contact transformation, and (3) (£Vh')X = 0 holds for any vector field X. We present an illustrative example to support the result.
In this paper, a sensorless V/f control based on maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) operation for PMSMs is proposed. Given that the MTPA operation is not considered in the conventional sensorless V/f control, efficient PMSM drives cannot be achieved. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved technique based on the d-axis current control to enable the MTPA operation in the V/f control for PMSMs. A stabilization technique is also proposed to improve the dynamic characteristics and stability against load variation. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified by conducting experiments with a 250 W SPMSM for driving a blower.
In this paper, we consider the quasilinear elliptic system $\\div(|{\nabla}u|^{p-2}{\nabla}u)=u(a_1u^{m1}+b_1(x)u^m+{\delta}_1v^n),\;\\div(|{\nabla}_v|^{q-2}{\nabla}v)=v(a_2v^{r1}+b_2(x)v^r+{\delta}_2u^s)$, in $\Omega$ where m > $m_1$ > p-2, r > $r_1$ > q-, p, q $\geq$ 2, and ${\Omega}{\subset}R^N$ is a smooth bounded domain. By constructing certain super and subsolutions, we show the existence of positive blow-up solutions and give a global estimate.
The dependence of the catalytic properties of horseradish peroxidase on the structural changes of ionic liquids was investigated with two water-miscible ionic liquids, N-butyl-3methypyridinium tetraftuoroborate ([$BMP_y$][$BF_4$]) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate ([BMIM][$MeSO_4$]), each of which shares an anion ($BF_4^-$) or a cation ($BMIM^+$) with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetraftuoroborate ([BMIM][$BF_4$]), respectively. The oxidation of guaiacol (2-methoxyphenol) with $H_2O_2$was used as a model reaction. In order to minimize the effect of solution viscosity on the kinetic constants of the enzymatic catalysis, the enzymatic reactions for the kinetic study were performed in water-ionic liquid mixtures containing 25% (v/v) ionic liquid at maximum. Similarly to the previously reported results for [BMIM][$BF_4$], as the concentration of [$BMP_y$][$BF_4$] increased, the $K_m$value increased with a decrease in the $k_{cat}$value: the $K_m$value increased markedly from 2.8 mM in 100% water to 12.6 mM in 25% (v/v) ionic liquid, indicating that ionic liquid significantly weakens the binding affinity of guaiacol to the enzyme. On the contrary, [BMIM][$MeSO_4$] decreased the Km value to 1.4 mM in 25% (v/v) ionic liquid. [BMIM][$MeSO_4$] also decreased $k_{cat}$more than 3-folds [from 13.8 $s^{-1}$in 100% water to 4.1 $s^{-1}$in 25% (v/v) ionic liquid]. These results indicate that the ionic liquids interact with the enzyme at the molecular level as well as at a macroscopic thermodynamic scale. Specifically, the anionic component of the ionic liquids influenced the catalysis of horseradish peroxidase in different ways.
Grapevine rupestris stem pitting-associated virus (GRSPaV) is a worldwide-distributed pathogen in grapevines with a high genetic variability. Our study revealed differences in the complexity of GRSPaV population in a single host. A single-variant GRSPaV infection was detected from the SK30 grapevine plant. On the contrary, SK704 grapevine was infected by three different GRSPaV variants. Variant-specific RT-PCR detection protocols have been developed in this work to study distribution of the three different variants in the same plant during the season. This study showed their randomized distribution in the infected SK704 grapevine plant. Comparative analysis of full-length genome sequences of four Slovak GRSPaV isolates determined in this work and 14 database sequences showed that population of the virus cluster into four major phylogenetic lineages. Moreover, our analyses suggest that genetic recombination along with point mutations could play a significant role in shaping evolutionary history of GRSPaV and contributed to its extant genetic diversification.
This paper describes the verification and the validation about the development of the integrated interoperability system for live, virtual, and constructive simulations on the aircraft weapon system. The proposed integrated interoperability system provides the framework and application softwares for implementing a synthetic environment emulating real-world environment among distributed simulation models, which are a mission model and an air combat model of a constructive level, an tactical simulator of a virtual level, and simulated ACMI of a live level. In this paper, we verify requested functions through an developmental test and evaluation, and validate operability and usability through conducing integrated LVC scenarios on the integrated interoperability system.
The objectives of this study were to compare the growth of Vitex rotundifolia as affected by the difference of soil depth and mixture ratio in a shallow-extensive green roof module system, and to identify the level of soil thickness and mixture ratio as suitable growing condition to achieve the desired plant growth in green roof. Different soil thickness levels were achieved under 7cm, 15cm and 25cm of shallow-extensive green roof module systems made by woody frame of $500{\times}500{\times}300mm$. Soil mixture ratio were eight types for perlite : peatmoss : leafmold = 7 : 1 : 2 (v/v/v, $P_7P_1L_2$), perlite : peatmoss : leafmold = 6 : 2 : 2 (v/v/v, $P_6P_2L_2$), perlite : peatmoss : leafmold = 5 : 3 : 2 (v/v/v, $P_5P_3L_2$), perlite : peatmoss : leafmold = 4 : 4 : 2 (v/v/v, $P_4P_4L_2$), only sand ($S_{10}$), sand : leafmold = 7 : 3 (v/v, $S_7L_3$), sand : leafmold = 5 : 5 (v/v, $S_5L_5$) and only leafmold ($L_{10}$). The growth response of Vitex rotundifolia had fine and sustain condition in $P_6P_2L_2$, $P_5P_3L_2$ and $P_4P_4L_2$., Especially, in case of $P_6P_2L_2$, growth response appeared to be good even in soil thickness 7cm, which showed low survival rates of Vitex rotundifolia in other soil mixtures. Tree height, root diameter, photosynthesis and chlorophyll contents tended to increase with increased soil thickness.
