A Design of Digital Instrumentation Amplifier converting standard sensor output signals into 5V voltage-output (표준 센서 출력신호를 5V 전압-출력을 변환하는 디지털 계측 증폭기 설계)

  • A novel digital instrumentation amplifier(DIA) converting universal signal inputs into 5V voltage-output for industry standard sensor signal processing was designed. The circuit consists of a commercial instrumentation amplifier, seven analog switches, two voltage references of 1.0V and -10.0V, and four resistors. The converting principle is the circuit reconstruction by switches for resistor values and reference voltages according to input signals. The simulation result shows that the DIA has a good output voltage characteristics of 0~5V for the input voltage of 0V~5V, 1V~5V, -10V~+10V, and 4mA~20mA. The nonlinearity error was less than 0.1% for the four type signal inputs.

  • This paper describes electrical environmental study of a 765kV double circuit test line. Corona performance on several candidate conductor bundles has been investigated in the corona cage (single phase simulation facility) since 1984. We have known that six RAIL conductor bundle is the most suitable for the 765kV transmission Line, [3] To investigate electrical environmental impact of the future commerciale line, we build a full sacle 765kV test line in 1993. The test results of Audible Noise, Radio Interference, TV Interference from August, 1993 to Jan. 1994 were measured as $48.7[dBA](L_{50})$. $57.4[dB{\mu}V/m]$(Fair weather, $L_{50})$. $14.5[dB${\mu}$V/m]$(Fair weather, $L_{50}$). We have found that the Audible Noise data were very close to the predicted(48.5 [dBA]) by BPA Corona and Field Effects Computer program, however, the RI and TVI data were much higher than predicted(42 [dBmV/m], $7.9[dB{\mu}V/m)$ by the BPA program. We have investigating the reason of the difference. In the constructing of full scale test line, we developed the tubular tower, 765kV test transformer and hardwares of 765kV transmission line insulator strings. Also we will investigate the effects of plants under the 765kV test Line.

  • Continuously variable transmission(CVT) mechanisms considered here combine the functions of a K-H-V type differential gear unit and a V-belt type continuously variable unit(CVU). As combining the functions of a K-H-V type differential gear unit and a V-belt type CVU, 24 different mechanisms are presented. Some useful theoretical formula related to speed ratio, power flow and efficiency are derived and analyzed. These mechanisms have many advantages which are the decrease of CVT size, the increase of overall efficiency, the extension of speed ratio range, and the generation of geared neutral.

  • Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) is caused by SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory SyndromeCoronavirus 2). To date, seven coronaviruses that can infect humans were reported. Among them, infections with four coronavirus strains (HCoV-229E, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-NL63, and HCoV-HKU1) resulted in mild symptoms such as common cold, whereas SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV caused severe symptoms and epidemics in 2002 and 2012, respectively. In the most recent, SARS-CoV-2 was first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and became a notorious cause of the ongoing global pandemics. To diagnose, treat, and prevent COVID-19, the development of rapid and accurate diagnostic tools, specific therapeutic drugs, and safe vaccines essentially are required. In order to develop these powerful tools, it is prerequisite to understand a phenotype, a genotype, and life cycle of SARS-CoV-2. Diagnostic techniques have been developing rapidly around world and many countries take the fast track system to accelerate approval. Approved diagnostic devices are rapidly growing facing to urgent demand to identify carriers. Currently developed commercial diagnostic devices are divided into mainly two categories: molecular assay and serological & immunological assay. Molecular assays begins the reverse transcription step following polymerase chain reaction or isothermal amplification. Immunological assay targets SARS-CoV-2 antigen or anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody of samples. In this review, we summarize the phenotype, genome structure and gene expression of SARS-CoV-2 and provide the knowledge on various diagnostic techniques for SARS-CoV-2.

Characteristics of loci on Line-to-Earth Voltage according to Earth Fault in Earthing System for Ships (선박의 접지 시스템에서 지락 고장에 따른 대지 전압 변동 특성)

  • The voltages mainly used in ships are 450 [V], 6.6 [kV], and 11 [kV], and an earthed system is applied to ensure the stability of the power distribution system. In general, low-voltage ships using 450 [V] apply an unearthed system, while high-voltage ships using 6.6 [kV] or 11 [kV] use a high-resistance earthed system. When an earth fault occurs in a ship's power distribution system, the voltage of the healthy phase increases to the line-to-line voltage or higher, which causes an excessive impact on the insulation of the cable. Thus, analyzing this behavior is very important. In this paper, we investigate the characteristics of the line-to-earth voltage variation according to earth faults and a recognition procedure of a faulty phase using the symmetrical coordinate method for a high-resistance earthed system and unearthed system. A mathematical model of the line-to-earth voltage was derived through the symmetric coordinate method, and the ship voltage for simulations was selected as 6.6 [kV] and 450 [V]. A MATLAB simulation proved that this method can determine the highest increase of the line-to-earth voltage, which leads by 120° on the faulty phase, and it accurately judges the faulty phase in both earthed systems.

A Highly Power-Efficient Single-Inductor Multiple-Outputs (SIMO) DC-DC Converter with Gate Charge Sharing Method

  • This paper proposes a highly power-efficient single-inductor multiple-outputs (SIMO) DC-DC converter with a gate charge sharing method in which gate charges of output switches are shared to improve the power efficiency and to reduce the switching power loss. The proposed converter was fabricated by using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process technology with high voltage devices of 5 V. The input voltage range of the converter is from 2.8 V to 4.2 V, which is based on a single cell lithium-ion battery, and the output voltages are 1.0 V, 1.2 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V. Using the proposed gate charge sharing method, the maximum power efficiency is measured to be 87.2% at the total output current of 450 mA. The measured power efficiency improved by 2.1% compared with that of the SIMO DC-DC converter without the proposed gate charge sharing method.

  • The objectives of this study are to examine combustion characteristics of E.V.A. and rubber wastes by fixed-bed incinerator, The results are as follows. Combustion temperature with time rises rapidly, and mass of E.V.A. reduces at short time in E.V.A. combustion. In variation of air-fuel ratio (m), ice ideal values of m of E.V.A. and rubber are 2.5, 1.5 respectively. Mixed-waste combustion is more economic than single E.V.A. combustion, because we can get high combustion efficiency (94.0~99.0%) at 2.0 air-fuel ratio of mixed-waste combustion. Removal efficiencies of SO2 at cooling tower are about 20%. The combustion efficiencies of rubber are over 98.0% according to the experimental conditions.

  • KEPCO is planning to operate 765kV Sin-Tao-Back and Sin-Ga-Pyong substations from 2004. A preventive diagnostic system to obtain the reliability of transformer and GIS is being adopted in 765kV substations. KEPRI has developed a preventive diagnostic system for 765kV substation since 1997. The preventive diagnostic system developed in that project was installed to the 345kV Eui-Ryung substation in June, 2000, and it is under circumstance durability test and operation capacity tests. In this paper, we analyze data of the preventive diagnostic system in 345kV Eui-Ryung substation.
