시간교환법과 시각화척도 방법을 이용한 폐경 후 에스트로겐 결핍증에 대한 효용 측정 (Measuring Utility for Menopausal Symptoms Based on Time Trade-Off and Visual Analogue Scale Methods)

  • The present study was conducted to measure health-related utility for post-menopausal symptoms among Korean woman. A survey questionnaire was developed to measure utility based on visual analogue scale(VAS) and time trade-off method (TTO). From January 29 to February 3, 2007, a face-to-face interview was conducted with 274 women aged 45 to 60 to ask about their subjective utility for hypothetical health status of mild or severe post-menopausal symptoms. Among the participants, 160 were recruited from outpatient departments of 3 hospitals and 114 from 2 sports centers located in Seoul. For mild symptom, the average utility score of the respondents was $0.63{\pm}0.14$ based on VAS and $0.61{\pm}0.26$ based on ITO. For severe symptoms, the average utility was $0.39{\pm}0.16$(VAS) and $0.44{\pm}0.27$ (TTO). For severe symptom, a higher utility score was observed for TTO than for VAS, which is consistent with earlier studies and thus supports the validity of the utility measurement in this study. Overall, the severity of post-menopausal symptoms of the respondents themselves was not significantly associated with the utility score that the respondents answered for hypothetical health status. Multiple regression analysis results showed that the utility score was significantly higher among respondents with older age, higher education, higher family income, and from hospitals. It is expected that the utility score measured in this study will enhance the understanding of the quality of life of women after menopause and will be used to conduct cost-utility analysis of health care interventions to treat post-menopausal symptoms.

  • This paper describes the distribution power system econimical PQMS(Power quality monitoring system) of Utility. Recently, the korea power quality standard has been established based on the IEC Std. By IEC Std., the power quality assessment point is measured in PCC(Point of common coupling). In this case, the utility has to construct PQM system in all customer PCC point and the PQ meter cost would be very high in order to acquire the suitable data. Also the distribution system would be encounter the communication overload problem due to the huge data. Accordingly the utilities could not apply to PQM system in the distribution power system by the cost and communication problem. In this paper, the proposed economical PQMS has the voltage and current signal reiteration function and FFT operation function is transferred the server. Also the voltage and current measurement channels are minimized by a classified substation construction.

  • As the number of deteriorated infrastructures increases, research on decision-making methods for efficient budget allocation is required. Thus, this study considered the application of utility theory for asset management of deteriorated infrastructure. In decision-making, methods that enable quantitative measurement were proposed, attributing the aging, economic feasibility, and ripple effects. This study is meaningful as a basic study of decision-making methods, and we will conduct research applied to case studies in the future.

  • A single active capacitor snubber-assisted soft-switching sinewave pulse modulation utility-interactive power conditioner with a three-winding flyback high frequency transformer link and a bidirectional active power switch in its secondary side has been proposed. With the aid of the switched-capacitor quasi-resonant snubber cell, the high frequency switching devices in the primary side of the proposed DC-to-AC sinewave power inverter can be turned-off with ZVS commutation. In addition to this, the proposed power conditioner in the DCM can effectively take the advantages of ZCS turn-on commutation. Its output port is connected directly to the utility AC power source grid. At the end, the prototype of the proposed HF-UPC is built and tested in experiment. Its power conversion conditioning and processing circuit with a high frequency flyback transformer link is verified and the output sinewave current is qualified in accordance with the power quality guidelines of the utility AC interactive power systems.

  • 하드디스크의 속도 성능을 탐색해 볼 수 있는 유틸리티를 개발하였다. 하드디스크에 적용하여 속도 곡선을 자세히 볼 수 있음을 보이고, 이동평균 방법을 적용하면 하드디스크의 실린더 구조와 속도 곡선의 변화를 선명하게 볼 수 있도록 하였다. 확장성을 위해 일반 대용량 스토리지에 적용하였으며, 최근에 새로운 저장 매체로 각광 받고 있는 SSD의 I/O 성능을 측정하였다. 10Gbps급 이상의 속도를 보이는 M.2 NVME를 이용하여, 리눅스 O/S에서 제공하는 cp와 속도 비교 실험을 수행함으로써, 유틸리티의 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

의료 비정형 텍스트 비식별화 및 속성기반 유용도 측정 기법 (De-identifying Unstructured Medical Text and Attribute-based Utility Measurement)

  • 비식별화는 데이터셋으로부터 개인정보를 제거함으로써 개인을 식별할 수 없도록 하는 방법으로, 정보를 수집, 가공, 저장, 배포하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 개인정보 노출 위험도를 낮추기 위해 사용한다. 그간 비식별화와 관련된 알고리즘, 모델 등의 관점에서 많은 연구가 이루어졌지만, 대부분은 정형 데이터를 대상으로 하는 제한적인 연구로, 비정형 데이터에 대한 고려는 상대적으로 많지 않은 실정이다. 특히 비정형 텍스트가 빈번히 사용되는 의료 분야의 경우에서는 개인 식별 정보들을 단순 제거함으로써 개인정보 노출 위험도는 낮추지만, 그에 따른 데이터 활용성이 떨어지는 점을 감수하는 실정이다. 본 연구는 개인정보 보호 이슈가 가장 중요하고 따라서 비식별화가 활발하게 연구되고 있는 의료분야 데이터 중 비정형 텍스트를 대상으로 k-익명성 보호모델을 적용한 비식별화 수행 방안을 제시하고, 비식별화 결과에 대한 새로운 유용도 측정 기법을 제안하여 이를 통해 직관적으로 데이터 활용성을 판단할 수 있도록 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과물이 의료 분야뿐만 아니라 비정형 텍스트가 활용되는 모든 산업 분야에서 활용될 경우, 개인 식별 정보가 포함된 비정형 텍스트의 활용도를 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

A Study on response time measurement of FPD using statistical techniques of histogram

  • As FPD technology is getting improved, there are a lot of issues on signal processing and analysis, and its relative importance has been increasing day by day. In particular, response time sad in the evaluation item of FPD has been measured by oscilloscope. In this paper, we propose an effective measurement method of response time in FPD. The proposed method is to calculate the rising/ falling time by using statistical techniques of histogram and analyzing an energy distribution. Ultimately, the method has proved the utility and reliability by comparison of oscilloscope

디젤기관의 속도제어를 위한 최적회전수 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimun Speed Measurement for the Speed Control of a Diesel Engine)

  • A diesel Engine rotates vibratively because of alternative explosion strokes. Traditional measurement of a diesel engine speed is carried out by measuring output voltage of FV convertor from input signals of MPU(magnetic pickup unit) or of DC tachometer. Because these measurement include also vibrative rotation of a diesel engine, an analog filter is often used to eliminate high frequency noises due to periodic explosion stroke. But by this method these high frequency noises do not eliminated effectively because noise frequencies are changed according to diesel engine speed. In this paper, author proposes a new measurement method of a diesel engine revolution which read digital signal directly from MPU and prove the utility of proposed method through the real experiment.

Compensation Strategy to Eliminate the Effect of Current Measurement Offsets in Grid-Connected Inverters

  • For the digital control of systems such as grid-connected inverters, measuring inverter output currents accurately is essential. However, current measurement offsets are inevitably generated by current measurement paths and cause DC current components in real inverter output currents. Real inverter output currents with DC components cause the DC-link capacitor voltage to oscillate at the frequency of a utility voltage. For these reasons, current measurement offsets deteriorate the overall system performance. A compensation strategy to eliminate the effect of current measurement offsets in grid-connected inverters is proposed in this study. The validity of the proposed compensation strategy is verified through simulations and experiments. Results show that the proposed compensation strategy improves the performance of grid-connected inverters.

The Advent of Cuffless Mobile Device Blood Pressure Measurement: Remaining Challenges and Pitfalls

  • Blood pressure measurement (BPM) is an essential part of medical examination, and therefore accuracy of BPM devices is crucial. Over the past few years, there has been a rise in new BPM techniques using photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals and complex algorithms for blood pressure estimation. Especially the combination of a mobile device or a smartphone with a camera using PPG may potentially revolutionize BPM in the future. The first-ever BPM application to be approved as a medical device was one by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2020, despite the lack of robust scientific evidence proving its validity. While the prospect of using these novel BPM devices is an opportunity, there are also some critical issues around calibration and utility in different patient groups that need to be resolved before they can be incorporated into daily clinical practice.
