  • Recent years, a smartphone has been playing a role of searching, booking, and decision-makings in the tourism industry through tourists' user experiences and engagements. This study investigated the tourists' behavior toward smartphone usage regarding Chinese visitors who were ranked in Korea inbound tourism. This research model formulated two types of usage which identified explorlative use and exploitive use and the antecedent relationships of user empowerment including user competence, user impact, usage meaning, user trust. We analyzed SmartPLS2.0 for the hypotheses and found that first, user competence has a positive influence both of exploitative use and explorative use, second, user impact has a positive influence on exploitative use, but has not influenced on explorative use, third, usage meaning has not influence on exploitive use, but has a postitive influence on explorative use, and finally user trust has influence on both of exploitive and explorative use. Based on the results we found, we suggested Chinese tourists' smartphone usages' behaviors and theoretical and practical implications.

  • Business models in open market systems targeting smart phone users are determined by several important factors. First, by providing developers efficient technical platforms, it contains a setting for developers to learn, apply and improve the skills relating to the product category easily while they stay beyond a corporate boundary. Second, by the first condition, a huge population of talented developers becomes to join a specific open market where will invite more customers to use their applications. Hence it will attract more and more developer participants who will finally give a rise to a persistent market growth. Third, the evaluation system between platform providers and application producers, and one between application producers and application users may underlie the trust relationships between them. The research conducted a multiple embedded case study to test the success factors of open market based business models. It focused on smart phone game communities that have installed user evaluation, and feedback systems. The user innovation empowerment model within the social game networks has highlighted the theories on the roles and characteristics of lead users, and lead user network behaviors for future NPD participations.

  • As one of the successful brand activism ad campaigns in recent years, the current study focuses on the Always #LikeAGirl campaign that took on the issue of girls and female empowerment. As a viral video marketing campaign with YouTube as their main vehicle for campaign dissemination, this study examined how Always brand activism campaigns spread on YouTube by conducting a network analysis of YouTube video networks generated by the #LikeAGirl campaign spanning across five campaign periods. Quantifiable data (i.e., views, comments, likes, dislikes, user-generated videos) and structural network patterns show that the Always #LikeAGirl campaign was successful by both standards. Although the follow-up campaign periods were not as successful as the initial campaign, the substantial amount of views, comments, likes, and user-generated content showed that the consecutive campaigns still had impact. As shown through the network patterns, the main campaign ads were central in the diffusion of the campaign during the earlier periods but that role was passed onto the user-generated contents in the later periods. Implications of the findings and future social network analysis studies in brand advertising and brand activism campaigns are further discussed.

  • In current role-based systems, security officers handle assignments of users to roles. This may increase management efforts in a distributed environment because of the continuous involvement from security officers. The technology of role-based delegation provides a means for implementing RBAC in a distributed environment with empowerment of individual users. The basic idea behind a role-based delegation is that users themselves may delegate role authorities to other users to carry out some functions on behalf of the former. This paper presents a rule-based framework for user-level delegation model in which a user can delegate role authority by creating new delegation roles. Also, a rule-based language for specifying and enforcing the policies is introduced.

  • Each equipment has a durable life. The state of the equipment may change or fail until it is introduced, operated and disposed of. It is difficult for each organization to have a significant amount of these equipment and to understand each issue. Therefore, systematic life cycle management of equipment is more necessary than just for inventory purposes. In this paper, we design and implement an integrated management system for information assets. If it is an environment that can use the Internet based on the web, it can easily and easily access computerized information resource data through PCs, tablets, and smartphones. In addition, an integrated management system was established to limit the functions of higher and lower institutions through centralized management and user-level empowerment methods and to understand the overall status of resources.
