This study aims to analyse the necessity of the subject heading construction for the word based classification and to suggest a methodology that uses various knowledge organization systems(KOS). For this purpose, six kinds of KOS were collected for the 20 selected works in each subject. The collected subjects were analysed in terms of constructing a subject heading for the word based classification. The result of the analysis shows that there is a noticeable difference between the library oriented KOS and commercial oriented KOS. In addition, user oriented tags are more similar to the commercial sector's concerning subject categorization than the library oriented ones. However, there is no noticeable difference among the library oriented KOS, commercial sector oriented KOS, and user oriented tags regarding the subject vocabulary. Some practical implications were suggested for the application to the Korean libraries based on the findings of this study.

The pre-processor for finite to element structural analysis considering the user-friendly device is developed by using GUI. This can be used on WINDOWS' environment which is realized the multi-tasking and the concurrency by object-oriented paradigm. Data input can be done easily through menu, dialog box, automatic stepwise input and concurrent representation with the structural geometry on multiple windows. It in designed to control integratedly the pre-processing, execution and the post-processing of the finite element structural analysis program on multiple windows, and input data can be seen with result outputs at the same time. In addition, the object-oriented programming environment makes convenient revision and addition of the program components for expanding the scope of analysis and making better user environment.

This paper is to design the user interface of the groundwater well based on an object oriented. In order to implementation geographic data base of the an complex geo-object of the real world, this paper is the study of analysis pattern at the level By specifying the pattern appropriate to the application domain and designing the analysis pattern using the UML based on the object oriented methodology, this paper shall contribute to enhance the reuse of components that can develop and distribute a large scale open system.

This study aims to provide the results of a case study, based on the action research approach, in which an user-oriented management system for enterprise information systems operational performance is successful developed and applied. This study performs the research and summarizes the results by adopting 5-step approach of action research, i.e., diagnosing, action planning, action taking, evaluating and specifying learning. The most important lessons learned from the study include (1) operation performance measures should be established to be shared by the management and users; (2) evaluation and improvement activities should be performed continually; and (3) formula to calculate the measure should be evolved so that improvement initiatives can be identified. The results of the study are expected to provide the companies intending to develop a management system for enterprise information systems operational performance with the practical and useful information. In addition, it is expected to suggest the research results that can be utilized as a basis for future research in this area.

This research has studied developing the persona model based on alan cooper's user oriented design which is newly in the limelight in the field of product design process. As developing the persona model, In-depth interview and FGI(focus group interview) has been conducted for extracting car navigation user group's motivation and using attribute. Based on research, three different car navigation user group were divided-low using & understanding the function group, medium using & well understanding the function group, heavy using & well understanding the function group. This research yielded the foundation for setting the persona model and this persona gives the key factor for producing the user oriented user Interface design after all.

An advanced and proactive response mechanism against diverse attacks should be proposed for enhance its security and reliability on android based commercial smart work device. In this study, we propose a user-oriented vulnerability analysis and response system on commercial smart work device based on android when diverse attacks are activated. Proposed mechanism uses simplified and optimized memory for monitoring and detecting the abnormal behavior on commercial smart work device, with which we can find and determine the attacker's attempts. Additionally, proposed mechanism provides advanced vulnerability analysis and monitoring/control module.

This research investigates a kill probability model for the performance evaluation of guided missile system, and also develops the user interface implementation for the output of the model based on the visual object-oriented programming application. This paper describes in detail the methodology for the kill probability attained by a missile warhead detonating near an airborne target. The major simulation events used in this research are missile guidance homing point, burst points, and kill mechanism(direct kill, blast kill and fragment kill). For the user interface, we also design and implement the visualization system that can show the graphic style of the kill probability attained by the model. This research will bridge the gap between the sophisticated kill probability model and users who want to see the results interactively with visualization, which can benefit many of other military systems. Some examples are shown, but these will be improved to be better with visual simulation which can visualize all the simulation process of the model.

Because of the development of digital technologies and information-oriented products, the importance of user interface design and usability are increasing in recent year. So we need a systematic and rational way to measure and manage how effective the improvement of user interface is. The purpose of this study is to develop measurable ‘Usability Improvement Index' which signify how much usability has improved in user interface design. First, I made the framework of measuring and evaluating usability through analysis of existing usability metrics and previous studies. Then, I suggested the process of calculating 'Usability Improvement Index' based on categorizing characteristics of measurable usability and definition of usability metrics. The process is as in the following : measuring the present level of usability, analysis of problems, making alternative user interface design, measuring the improved level of usability, calculating Usability Improvement Index. For verification, the case study on application of Usability Improvement Index to usability improvement of application software of digital camcorder presented. This study is expected to assist 'goal oriented user interface design' and to manage usability systematically.

The contemporary concept of publicness is reinterpreted from the point of view of contemporary publicness. Contemporary perception of public space has now branched and grown into a multitude of non-traditional sites with a variety of programs in mind. In this study, the aim is to discuss how contemporary public library has been evolved as public space and how to create User-centered interaction. In the case of developed countries, the Public Libraries have showed the expected effects because they have more systematic and efficient plan. Also, these libraries are placed with each facility, not distributed separately. It promotes the accumulation of profit on the space and Increases the efficiency. They support more effectively users' activities through the linkages between each facility and create the active interaction between users. Formation of the various interactions and synergies between space had been induced. Publicity means that the state will relate a combination of a number of specific public area. In addition, open space, public place, shall be directed to: This place as one of the users in order to have meaning, must be equipped with the facilities and space to communicate and understand the local role. Methods of the study are to analyze the concept and role of the users with the concept of modern publicity, to examine the concept of multi-complexity of public libraries for the user-oriented publicness, to learn about the characteristics of public spaces in the public libraries that appear in the advanced countries, to examine how to affect these characteristics in the public libraries, and to suggest the possibility and the various application methods on the characteristics of a public space. In the end, the public libraries for the realization of the publicity, support program complexity such as education and culture, welfare facilities, and public service facilities. In the 21st century, these complexity to improve the quality of service in public libraries. These spaces can be an alternative to be kept comfortable in a more vibrant area, and can affect the social, natural, cultural, and environmental aspects of the physical environment and the objects and relationships, as well as expand.

The recent Web service field emerges as the fastest growing IT paradigm as a result of the increasing interest in SOA (Services-Oriented Architecture) and the expansion of B2B market. With an increasing number of Web service that provide similar features, it becomes more important to provide the most appropriate service for the user's request. A service user in general requires the quality information of Web service when selecting a service among a number of similar Web services. Yet, finding a service through UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration) does not consider the non-functional aspects of users because it is only based on the functional aspects. That is, the quality, non-functional aspect will be an important factor for the mutual success of the user and provider. Using 3 factors in the Qos factors of the existing studies: the execution cost, reliability, and the quality level, the QoS of Web service is saved and the factors for the QoS are recorded in order to consider non-functional factors when selecting a Web service in this study. The Quality Broker determines the rank and shows the desired result of the service for users. The Quality Broker suggested in this thesis can be used to select a Web Service that considers the user-oriented and non-functional factors.
