In this paper, we discuss the user-customized interaction for intelligent home environments. The interactive system is based upon the integrated techniques using speech recognition and fingerprint verification. For essential modules, the speech recognition and synthesis were basically used for a virtual interaction between the user and the proposed system. In experiments, particularly, the real-time speech recognizer based on the HM-Net(Hidden Markov Network) was incorporated into the integrated system. Besides, the fingerprint verification was adopted to customize home environments for a specific user. In evaluation, the results showed that the proposed system was easy to use for intelligent home environments, even though the performance of the speech recognizer was not better than the simulation results owing to the noisy environments
The web trend has been flowed from portal site to user created contents site, recently. Therefore, many companies have suggested web program of producing contents for user's convenience. However, web applications that are operated in various web browsers and heterogeneous devices have many problems regarding distribution and management so far. Because of diverse one-source data formats. In this paper, we present an integrative displaying and distributing tool (IDD-Tool) for editing, distributing and managing multimedia contents and environment so that users can work. It is inspected that the tool is widely used in the fields of education, publication, corporations and etc. because a user can participates in contents producing easily in personal customized workplace with IDD-Tool and contents made by IDD-Tool are distributed.

Objective: The present study developed a user-centered 3D virtual liver surgery planning (VLSP) system called Dr. Liver to provide preoperative information for safe and rational surgery. Background: Preoperative 3D VLSP is needed for patients' safety in liver surgery. Existing systems either do not provide functions specialized for liver surgery planning or do not provide functions for cross-check of the accuracy of analysis results. Method: Use scenarios of Dr. Liver were developed through literature review, benchmarking, and interviews with surgeons. User interfaces of Dr. Liver with various user-friendly features (e.g., context-sensitive hotkey menu and 3D view navigation box) was designed. Novel image processing algorithms (e.g., hybrid semi-automatic algorithm for liver extraction and customized region growing algorithm for vessel extraction) were developed for accurate and efficient liver surgery planning. Usability problems of a preliminary version of Dr. Liver were identified by surgeons and system developers and then design changes were made to resolve the identified usability problems. Results: A usability testing showed that the revised version of Dr. Liver achieved a high level of satisfaction ($6.1{\pm}0.8$ out of 7) and an acceptable time efficiency ($26.7{\pm}0.9 min$) in liver surgery planning. Conclusion: Involvement of usability testing in system development process from the beginning is useful to identify potential usability problems to improve for shortening system development period and cost. Application: The development and evaluation process of Dr. Liver in this study can be referred in designing a user-centered system.
With the development of sensor networks and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, personalized context information has been collected and customized services can be provided to related users. Currently, the context information system is at the level of analyzing and recognizing user specific behavioral characteristics and generating events. In the IoT environment, IoT products themselves should provide the required services with minimal user intervention, rather than acting for a specific purpose. In this paper, to minimize the user intervention in the IoT environment, we implemented an automatic attendance recognition system using context information from the ECG based on beacon. Environment of provided specific Context information, we compared and analyzed the degree of user intervention among the authentication method using ECG sensor in this paper and the existing authentication method. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed that the system implemented in this paper minimizes user intervention.
According to increasing SNS users and developing smart devices like smart phone and tablet PC recently, many techniques to classify user emotions with social network information are researching briskly. The use emotion classification stands for distinguishing its emotion with text and images listed on his/her SNS. This paper suggests a method to classify user emotions through sampling a value of a representative figure on a trigonometrical function, a representative adjective on text, and a canny algorithm on images. The sampling representative adjective on text is selected as one of high frequency in the samplings and measured values of positive-negative by SentiWordNet. Figures sampled on images are selected as the representative in figures; triangle, quadrangle, and circle as well as classified user emotions by measuring pleasure-unpleased values as a type of figures and inclines. Finally, this is re-defined as x-y graph that represents pleasure-unpleased and positive-negative values with wheel of emotions by Plutchik. Also, we are anticipating for applying user-customized service through classifying user emotions on wheel of emotions by Plutchik that is redefined the representative adjectives and figures.

A chatbot is an important area of mobile service, which understands informal data of a user as a conversational form and provides a customized service information for user. However, there is still a lack of a service way to fully understand the user's natural language typed query dialogue. Therefore, in this paper, we extract meaningful words, such a region, a food category, and a restaurant name from user's dialogue sentences for recommending a restaurant. and by comparing the extracted words against the contents of the knowledge database that is built from the hashtag for recommending a restaurant in SNS, and provides user target information having statistically much the word-similarity. In order to evaluate the performance of the restaurant recommendation chatbot system implemented in this paper, we measured the accessibility of various user query information by constructing a web-based mobile environment. As a results by comparing a previous similar system, our chabot is reduced by 37.2% and 73.3% with respect to the touch-count and the cutaway-count respectively.
Web services are standardized software technologies that enable interoperability of operating systems and programming languages through networks and related standards. Web services are distributed computing services that provide and discover services making it possible to access various services. Since the search method of web service considers only the functional aspect, it has a limitation on user-oriented search when selecting a service. In order to solve these problems, this study proposes an automatic IoT information generation tool, and provides IoT extension information when searching a web service, thereby improving the problem so that a suitable service can be selected for a user. Automatic IoT extension information generation tool proposed in this study collects and stores various information generated in the process of sensing, networking, and information processing by collaborating autonomously in a distributed environment of user, object, and service. The proposed method supports the service search suitable for the user by providing the information generated by the user as extended information when searching the web service. The proposed method can be applied to the 4th industry sector to provide a customized service that meets various environment requirements.
In today's business landscape, collaboration and interoperability are crucial for organizational success and profitability. However, integrating operations across multiple organizations is challenging due to differing roles and policies in Identity and Access Management (IAM). User-centric identity (UCI) adopts a personalized approach to digital identity management, centering on the end-user for authentication and access control. It provides a decentralized system that ensures secure and customized access for each user. UCI aims to address complex security challenges by aligning access privileges with individual user requirements. This research delves into UCI's ability to streamline resource access amidst conflicting IAM roles and protocols across various organizations. The study presents a UCI-based multi-domain access control (MDAC) framework, which encompasses an ontology, a unified method for articulating access roles and policies across domains, and software services melding with UCI infrastructure. The goal is to enhance organizational resource management and decision-making by offering clear guidelines on access roles and policy management across diverse domains, ultimately boosting companies' return on investment.
Recently, the rapid progress of a number of standardized web technologies and the proliferation of web users in the world bring an explosive increase of producing and consuming information documents on the web. In addition, most companies have produced, shared, and managed a huge number of information documents that are needed to perform their businesses. They also have discretionally raked, stored and managed a number of web documents published on the web for their business. Along with this increase of information documents that should be managed in the companies, the need of a solution to locate information documents more accurately among a huge number of information sources have increased. In order to satisfy the need of accurate search, the market size of search engine solution market is becoming increasingly expended. The most important functionality among much functionality provided by search engine is to locate accurate information documents from a huge information sources. The major metric to evaluate the accuracy of search engine is relevance that consists of two measures, precision and recall. Precision is thought of as a measure of exactness, that is, what percentage of information considered as true answer are actually such, whereas recall is a measure of completeness, that is, what percentage of true answer are retrieved as such. These two measures can be used differently according to the applied domain. If we need to exhaustively search information such as patent documents and research papers, it is better to increase the recall. On the other hand, when the amount of information is small scale, it is better to increase precision. Most of existing web search engines typically uses a keyword search method that returns web documents including keywords which correspond to search words entered by a user. This method has a virtue of locating all web documents quickly, even though many search words are inputted. However, this method has a fundamental imitation of not considering search intention of a user, thereby retrieving irrelevant results as well as relevant ones. Thus, it takes additional time and effort to set relevant ones out from all results returned by a search engine. That is, keyword search method can increase recall, while it is difficult to locate web documents which a user actually want to find because it does not provide a means of understanding the intention of a user and reflecting it to a progress of searching information. Thus, this research suggests a new method of combining ontology-based search solution with core search functionalities provided by existing search engine solutions. The method enables a search engine to provide optimal search results by inferenceing the search intention of a user. To that end, we build an ontology which contains concepts and relationships among them in a specific domain. The ontology is used to inference synonyms of a set of search keywords inputted by a user, thereby making the search intention of the user reflected into the progress of searching information more actively compared to existing search engines. Based on the proposed method we implement a prototype search system and test the system in the patent domain where we experiment on searching relevant documents associated with a patent. The experiment shows that our system increases the both recall and precision in accuracy and augments the search productivity by using improved user interface that enables a user to interact with our search system effectively. In the future research, we will study a means of validating the better performance of our prototype system by comparing other search engine solution and will extend the applied domain into other domains for searching information such as portal.
