  • The christian communities have been maintained and spreaded based on the great foundation of the holy bible. The printing and publishing technology made the holy bible popular at the end of the middle age. Namely, because of this remarkable development, the Bible have been became the best seller for centuries. Since the smart phone users have been growing, the number of people use the Bible Application have been increased. In this circumstance, the interface becomes a crucial element in the Age of Digital Media. Thus, developers have to regard the user's convenient. The user's characteristic is the important point to develop applications. This study is focusing on a particular using of the Bible, and how the using characteristic affects on application's UI. For this study, five bible applications reflecting particular using characteristics are chosen and compared in terms of function of services and elements of UI. Form this comparison and analysis, this study deduces the pattern of UI considering particular using characteristics such as patterns of reading, recording, sharing, and searching the bible. • This paper reports the results of a field study investigating the effect of user participation and attitude on the success of information system implementation during the system development process. The theoretical framework for this research is based on the organizational change theory, in which the attitude affects the effects of user's participation. User participation and attitude were defined as independent variables and the performance of system implementation as dependent variable. User participation was defined as a direct participation by end users in the process of the new information system development. This was measured by user's participation/non-participation. User attitude refers to user's opinions or feelings before a new system is developed. This was measured by user's favor toward a system. The performance of system implementation was measured by the surrogate variable, the degree of individual satisfaction on developed system. To achieve the objective of this research, a field research method utilizing questionnaires were employed. They were distributed to 221 users present during and/or after system development. Among 185 questionnaires returned, 175 questionnaires were used for analysis. The major findings can be summarized as follows: First, there was no significant effect of user participation on user satisfaction. Second, there was a significant effect of user attitude on user satisfaction. Third, there was no significant interaction effect of user participation and attitude on user satisfaction. It is worth to note that the user's participation did not have any significant effect on the user's satisfaction. It seems the reason for the above result is due to user's involuntary participation. In fact, the user does not have much leverage in the process of system development, which may result in poor performance of user participation. Since user attitude is an important factor in the success of system implementation, however, a method to overcome unfavorable attitude of user should proceed all others.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze the user requirements and developer requirements in virtual reality(VR), and suggest ways to increase the satisfaction of users who experience virtual reality. Specifically, focused on experience store of VR as a distribution retailer, user requirements were analyzed according to the results of previous research that the characteristics of Affordance, Presence, and Head Mounted Display (HMD) affect user satisfaction. Research, design, data, and methodology - Based on previous studies, in this study, we analyzed the importance of immerse, interaction, perception, and presence for the satisfaction of the user through the questionnaire, and the user experiences virtual reality (VR) The importance of HMD, Presence, Affordance, and experience satisfaction were analyzed. Based on this, we analyzed the user requirements and the developer requirements based on the questionnaires and interviews of the experts, starting from the user's desire or preference using QFD technique. Results - As a result of the analysis, the development factors that occupied a big part in the virtual reality field appeared to be visual. In detail, this showed that there was a lack of sense of presence for users. This should be improved. This paper shows that the requirements for visual, auditory, and tactile development are necessary. For the satisfaction of the users of virtual reality (VR) users, it is necessary to develop them according to their priority in consideration of importance and difficulty in the future. Conclusions - In this study, it was suggested that development according to priority should be considered, considering the difficulty level. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are made. First, we tried to search the list of user requirements as much as possible, but it is likely to change due to the development of VR technology. Therefore, it is necessary for developers to continually supplement user requirements with recent research literature. Second, development priorities according to difficulty level should be considered. This aspect should be considered in the actual VR development process, so if the numerical value of the difficulty is calculated, it should be presented in the research.

  • Nowadays, smartphones have become a portable multimedia computer because of a variety of useful applications in our daily lives, which can be downloaded and installed easily in smartphones. Despite of the fact that, however in the IS literature there has been little research on smartphone applications' user interface design. Specifically, there has been little understanding about smartphone users' cognitive functions as a mediating variable in the relationship between the user interface design of smartphone applications and users' work performance with the applications. Thus, the research aims of this study are to examine 1) the effects of the user interface design attributes including simplicity, consistency, and metaphor on the compliance with or the extension of users' mental models representing users' cognitive functions, and 2) the effects of the users' cognitive functions on their work performance with the applications. A survey was conducted and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) was employed to analyze the data. The results of this study showed that two of the user interface design attributes, simplicity and consistency, strongly affected users' cognitive functions. In addition, users' cognitive functions significantly influenced users' work performance. However, there was no relationship between the metaphors in the user interfaces of smartphone applications and the compliance with users' mental model. This study contributed theoretically not only to explore users' mental models that are rarely investigated in the IS field, but also to add some findings related to users' cognitive functions to the IS literature. This study also can help practitioners to develop more user friendly user interfaces of smartphone applications by suggesting the design attributes, such as simplicity, consistency, and metaphor.

  • Recently as the user experience's importance has been emphasized, there has been many tries of various research methodology in order to understand the user. Specially, as the political investigation method's user understanding method based on the statistical analysis so far has encountered a limit, there has been a continuous tendency to try to introduce a humanitarian or cultural anthropological methodology. As part of this effort, there has been many tries of various approach methods of the Ethnography which is the cultural anthropological typical research methodology, but among those the Diary Study Method is mentioned as one of the effective methodologies. Therefore this thesis applies the Diary Study Method to the notebook PC bundle SW's attitude research and tries a deep rooted research about the user attitude. Also centered to the project of understanding the notebook PC bundle SW's user receptivity. it shows a specific example of the Diary Study applied to the user understanding. Through this process, we will examine the summary about the Ethnography research method, and will discuss an effective research methodology by through the process of analyzing and deducting the user inclination by applying and designing the Diary Study to the project. That is to say, it was progressed by actually applying the research methodology through a specific case, with the purpose of breaking away from the textbook discussion and progress with an application aspect discussion. Through the current research, we will verify an active user-inclined process about the user's notebook PC SW, and it is expected to be useful in establishing a SW UX strategy and distribution related to the bundle software.
