User Factor Analysis and Evaluation of Virtual Reality 3D Color Picker (가상현실 3차원 색상 선택기의 사용자 요인 분석 및 평가)

  • 3D interaction between humans and computers has been possible with the popularization of virtual reality, and it is important to study natural and efficient virtual reality user interfaces. In user interface development, it is essential to analyze and evaluate user factors. In order to analyze the influence of factors on users who use the virtual reality color picker, this paper divides the user groups based on whether they major in art or design, whether they have experience in virtual reality, and whether they have prior knowledge about 3D color space. The color selection error and color selection time of all user groups were compared and analyzed. Although there were statistically significant differences according to the user groups, all user groups used the virtual reality color picker accurately and effectively without any difficulties.

  • In this study, the factors affecting reality aspect of virtual reality system were identified through Quality Function Deployment. The influence of some selected factors was evaluated in simulated performance test. It was shown that the factor of whether user can break through the objects in virtual space is the most sensitive to performance, followed by the factors of rotation angle and movement step. Also, the results implied that as more referents were provided to user, feeling of reality was enhanced.

  • Cloud storage service has the potential to be a core infrastructure for the future mobile and Internet service; thus related service providers have been investing in it and trying to attract as many users as possible. In addition, those need to find out what motivates the users to keep using their service not only to attract new customers but also to secure their subscribers. Therefore, this study will examine its relationship with user's motivation based on the extended TAM model with external variables for objective research about continuous use of cloud storage service. As a result, it was found that personal innovativeness, self efficacy, functional attributes, and psychological switching cost influence the continuous use of cloud storage service. Also, it is expected they can guide service providers to the right track when setting up their business strategy in the future.

  • In the fintech field, financial transactions with smart phones are actively conducted. User authentication technology is essential for safe financial transactions. PIN authentication through the existing security keypads is convenient to input but has weaknesses in security and others. The biometric authentication technique is secure, but there is a possibility of false positive and false negative authentication. To compensate for this, two-factor authentication is used. In this paper, we propose the 1.5-factor authentication that can increase convenience and security through PIN input with biometric authentication. It provides the stability of fingerprint authentication and convenience of two or three PIN inputs, and this makes safe financial transaction possible. Since biometric authentication is performed at the same time when entering PIN, while security is required by applying fingerprint authentication to the area touched while entering PIN. The User authentication is performed while ensuring convenience to input through additional PIN input in situations where high safety is required, and Safe financial transactions are possible.

Developing and Evaluating New ICT Innovation System: Case Study of Korea's Smart Media Industry

  • The smart media (SM) industry has demonstrated that it has the characteristics to increase user innovative activities, enhance open innovativeness, and increase the segmentation of innovation value. This study introduces and evaluates an innovation system that reflects the characteristics of the SM industry. We categorize the SM industry into hardware, network, platform, and content industries and perform an AHP analysis (based on a survey of 96 experts) to evaluate the relative importance of the factors/factor groups affecting the creation of innovation. The results show that 'collaboration activity" is a more important factor than other innovation factor groups (financial support, R&D, policy environment, human resources) in the SM industry. The results also show that the important factors/factor groups differ by industry.

  • An ecological learning center is defined as a place which can establish the correct relationship between human and environment. Human can learn ecosystem and importance of environment throughout observation of nature and participation in program of ecological learning center. The most important aspects of ecological learning center planning are to reflect on user's demand and preservation of ecosystem. The prime goals of this study is to analyze user's characteristics in the Young Wheol Mulmurigol Ecological Learning Center. The second goal of this study is to find out the satisfaction model based on user's perceived performance of each program and facility in the center. For this study, questionnaire survey with 204 individuals was completed. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed statistical method by SPSS. There are several significant results from the study as following First, this ecological learning center as a newly operating facility is used not for educational purpose but for resting and relaxation purpose. It is due to that the most of users in this center are package tourists with historic scenes. Second, user's perceived performance evaluated by 23 attributions of programs and facilities, and these attributions could be classified by 5 factors such as environment friendly design, educational function, preservation of environment, provision of various bio-top and provision of resting area. Third, the user satisfaction model indicates that user satisfaction is depended on various factors such as preservation of environment, provision of various bio-top, provision of resting area. Among these factor affecting the satisfaction, provision of various bio-top is the most influence on user satisfaction.

  • It is generally agreed that realizing the full potential of the internet shopping mall(ISM) requires careful identification of customer needs and expectations. However, a quantitative framework to explain and predict users' behavior toward ISM has not been well established because the research on the user acceptance of ISM is still in its infancy. This study proposes a model which uses factor analysis to identify factors of ISM characteristics and individual characteristics affecting user acceptance of ISM. Predictive models based on the multiple regression analyses select the factors and their interactions with individual characteristics that significantly influence user acceptance. Results show that five factors including economy, convenience, credibility, reliability, information risks, and performance risks affects user acceptance. In addition, individual differences in terms of innovativeness, playfulness, and recreational shopping traits have both direct and interaction effects on user acceptance. The implication of this study is that, although user attitudes towards ISM characteristics in general are important to their acceptance behavior, the level of importance depends upon different user groups.

  • The identified research result can be outlined more specifically as follows: first, informativeness of SNS was giving positive impact to some degree on the user satisfaction; second, connectivity of SNS was giving very positive impact on the user satisfaction; third, accessibility was giving very positive impact on the user satisfaction; forth, usability of SNS was giving very positive impact on the user satisfaction; fifth, amusement of SNS was giving very positive impact on the user satisfaction; the satisfaction level of SNS users gave positive impact on the further intention of SNS users. It was identified, however, that interactiveness of SNS was the factor that did not give much impact on the user satisfaction. This result comes from the analysis that SNS is convenient to actively explore and get further information that users wish to find, while they are insufficient in function to provide the information other users require or exchange information among users through the SNS.

  • In this study, for the introduction factors of ERP system suggested in the prior study, I analyzed the importance of each introduction factor by using Delphi methodology and AHP. As a result of analysing the importance of the introduction factors of the 1st layer, the supplier factor was analyzed to be the most important factor among innovation factor, information technology factor, the user factor, the supplier factor, and in the weight analysis on the 2nd layer considering the importance of 1st layer, the standard work model of the supplier factor was a suitable factor, and the CEO participation factor(.086) was analyzed as the second most important introduction factor. These analysis results enable to determine that domestic Small & Medium enterprises' position hope to introduce by selecting a system in which the company characteristics and management strategies are applied well, because they should operate an ERP system that has already been developed, and in this course, the participation of CEO was also found to be a very important factor.
