A Study on Recommendation Systems based on User multi-attribute attitude models and Collaborative filtering Algorithm (다속성 태도 모델과 협업적 필터링 기반 장소 추천 연구)

  • For a place-recommendation model based on user's behavior and multi-attribute attitude in this thesis. We focus groups that show similar patterns of visiting restaurants and then compare one and the other. We make use of The Fishbein Equation, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient to calculate multi-attribute attitude scores. Furthermore, We also make use of Preference Prediction Algorithm and Distance based method named "Euclidean Distance" to provide accurate results. We can demonstrate how excellent this system is through several experiments carried out with actual data.

  • In the highly developing industrial society, design has been playing the central role in the managerial strategy of a company and has been one of the central agendas in determining the economical competence of a country, and has also been regarded as a means to acquire sustainable superior competence. Thus, these trends suggest that the aesthetic value of a product has become more important than its technological function. In this study we reviewed theoretically esthetic factors influencing the preference and the evaluation of a product and made a list of eight esthetic factors based on various referential studies which include simplicity, balance, unity, rhythm, style, novelty, typicality, and proportion. We investigated the esthetic factors affecting consumers preferences and the basis for evaluating a product. Conclusively, this study aimed at providing materials for developing product design by presenting an esthetic guideline and to put these materials to practical use. The study also investigated other considered elements classified by manufactures and the importance of esthetic factors and its influence on consumer tastes.

In this study we review theoretically esthetic factors influencing the preference of a product, so that we can make a list of eight esthetic factors based on the various referential studies. We research esthetic factors affecting consumers' preferences and evaluation of a product and typical esthetic factors specific to the characteristics of each product. Therefore, in this study we tried to provide available materials in developing product design by present of esthetic guideline and to put this materials to practical use in product design by finding considered elements and importance of esthetic factors which had important effects on the tastes of the consumers classified by manufactures.

  • Recently, personalized-adaptive services became the center of interest in the world. However the services about music are not widely diffused out. That is because the analyzing of music information is more difficult than analyzing of text information. In this paper, we propose a music recommendation system which provides personalized services. The system keeps a user's listening list and analyzes it to select pieces of music similar to the user's preference. For analysis, the system extracts properties from the sound wave of music and the time when the user listens to music. Based on the properties, a piece of music is mapped into a point in the property space and the time is converted into the weight of the point. At this time, if we select and analyze the group which is selected by user frequently, we can understand user's taste. However, it is not easy to predict how many groups are formed. To solve this problem, we apply the K-means clustering algorithm to the weighted points. We modified the K-means algorithm so that the number of clusters is dynamically changed. This manner limits a diameter so that we can apply this algorithm effectively when we know the range of data. By this algorithm we can find the center of each group and recommend the similar music with the group. We also consider the time when music is released. When recommending, the system selects pieces of music which is close to and released contemporarily with the user's preference. We perform experiments with one hundred pieces of music. The result shows that our proposed algorithm is effective.

  • Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs prepared the method to update traffic connection system by amending "National Transport System Efficiency Act(hereinafter Act)". The key is a development of Intermodal Transfer Center. The law and guideline related with Intermodal Transfer Center requires the installation and operation of transfer information guide facility to improve user's convenience. However, there are no sufficient studies that can be used as references for the method to construct transfer support information system related with user's preference. The study performed the research about user's service satisfaction in relation with transfer support information service, which was embodied in model operation process, on the basis of transfer support information system of Intermodal Transfer Center applied to Gimpo Airport. The analysis result about service preference, importance of each supplied information, service satisfaction and consideration for service embodiment can be used as a guideline to embody the user information service of Intermodal Transfer Center. In addition, through CVM, the study estimated and proposed the service valuation of smart intermodal transfer service that provides customized information to cope with user's situation and traffic means operation status among transfer support information service. It is determined that the study will measure the benefit of Intermodal Transfer Center user by using monetary value when smart intermodal transfer service is supplied and provide the ground to expand high-tech transfer information service with high usefulness and convenience.

  • In this paper, we propose the IPTV QoE evaluation method reflecting service user's preference. This method can evaluate the IPTV service QoE using the fuzzy integral because it usefully employs a subjective decision for QoE(Quality of Experience) evaluation. IPTV subscribers can prepare a criterion to select an IPTV provider who provides high qualityQoE.

  • Recently, searching agent systems to help purchase of products between business and customer have been actively studied in Electronic Commerce(EC). However, the most of comparative searching agent systems are only provided customers with searching results by the keyword-based search, and is not support the efficient decision models to be selected products considering the customer's requirements. This paper proposes the decision agent system applied decision model as well as searching functions based on the keyword-input to be selected useful products in EC. The proposed decision agent system is consist of the user interface, provider interface, decision model. Especially, as the example of the decision model, this paper is designed and implemented the prototype of decision agent system which is normalized the searching data and value of customer's preference weight as to each attribute, and orderly provided customers with computed results. This agent system is also carried out sensitive analysis according to the reflection ratio of the each attribute.

The relationship between prediction accuracy and pre-information in collaborative filtering system

  • This study analyzes the characteristics of preference ratings by dividing estimated values into four groups according to rank correlation coefficient after obtaining preference estimated value to user's ratings by using collaborative filtering algorithm. It is known that the value of standard error of skewness and standard error of kurtosis lower in the group of higher rank correlation coefficient This explains that the preference of higher rank correlation coefficient has lower extreme values and the differences of preference rating values. In addition, top n recommendation lists are made after obtaining rank fitting by using the result ranks of prediction value and the ranks of real rated values, and this top n is applied to the four groups. The value of top n recommendation is calculated higher in the group of higher rank correlation coefficient, and the recommendation accuracy in the group of higher rank correlation coefficient is higher than that in the group of lower rank correlation coefficient Thus, when using standard error of skewness and standard error of kurtosis in recommender system, rank correlation coefficient can be higher, and so the accuracy of recommendation prediction can be increased.

A Proposal for Indoor Greening Patterns by Space Types through the User's Preference Survey (이용자 선호도 조사를 통한 공간유형별 실내녹화유형 제안)

  • Because the demand or sensitivity of users of space has an important influence on the direction of design concerning indoor greening, this study examined the customers' preferences and trends for use in this field. By analyzing the results, types of space for indoor greening that can be utilized as indoor greening design such as vegetation selection, space positioning, design types, etc. were derived. The research and analysis was set for living space, business space, commercial space and public space. For each space, there were vegetations in over 50% of the space, and in all the spaces, the majority of people were of the positive opinion. As the desired space for the introduction of indoor greening, high levels of preference were seen in the following areas: 'veranda' and 'living room' for the residential space; 'main work space' and 'resting space' for the office space; and 'rest area,' 'entrance area' and 'lobby area' for the public space and commercial space. The preference of each of the spaces displayed slightly different trends in accordance with the characteristics of space and users. If indoor greening space were to be designed for these spaces according to the types, which are derived from the preference levels examined in this study, it is deemed that the satisfaction levels of users of the spaces could be increased.

  • Because existing information retrieval systems, in particular library retrieval systems, use 'exact keyword matching' with user's query, they present user with massive results including irrelevant information. So, a user spends extra effort and time to get the relevant information from the results. Thus, this paper will propose SULRM a Retrieval Model using Subject Classification Table, User profile, and LSI(Latent Semantic Indexing), to provide more relevant results. SULRM uses document filtering technique for classified data and document ranking technique for non-classified data in the results of keyword-based retrieval. Filtering technique uses Subject Classification Table, and ranking technique uses user profile and LSI. And, we have performed experiments on the performance of filtering technique, user profile updating method, and document ranking technique using the results of information retrieval system of our university' digital library system. In case that many documents are retrieved proposed techniques are able to provide user with filtered data and ranked data according to user's subject and preference.
