Successful operation of power systems under the deregulated electricity market depends on the management of the transmission system reliability. Quantitative evaluation of the transmission system reliability is an important issue. Particularly, the nodal reliability indices can be of value in the management and control of congestion and reliability of the transmission system under the deregulated electricity market. In this study, a method developed for the reliability evaluation of the transmission system is presented. The Monte Carlo methods are used because of their flexibility when complex operating conditions are being considered. The usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed method are illustrated by a case study with the KEPCO system.

It is widely known that optimal control techniques are useful to measure the performance of macroeconomic policy. This paper examines how the method could be applies them to the evaluation of the public investment expenditures conducted by the local government of Choongbook Province in Korea. The numerical example illustrates the usefulness of the methods for the evaluation of the regional economic policies suggesting the main findings as follows: (1) If the local government of Choongbook Province had increased the public investment expenditures allowing the budget deficits for the first three to four years during the period between 1985 and 1990, its GRDP would have early risen to the ratio of more than three percent of Korea's total GDP. (2) The additonal welfare losses incurred by not following the optimal policy were 0.191 in 1986, 0.607 in 1987, 1.585 in 1988, and 0.132 in 1989, indicating that the public investment policy proves to be the best in 1989 and the worst in 1988.

The optimized distance between skegs and angle of the skeg for a standard twin-skeg type LNG carrier were presented using the CFD and model tests. The evaluation method of self-propulsion performance was derived based on the results of CFD and confirmed the validity through model tests. The analyses to assess self-propulsion performance using CFD were shown by flow line patterns on the skeg surface, nominal wake distribution in the propeller plane and the evaluation for flow balance around stern skegs. The optimized ship that was applied to the optimized two design parameters in stern skeg arrangement for target ship was derived in this work. Finally speed performance of mother ship which is existing ship and optimized ship were compared through CFD and model tests. And the usefulness about the evaluation method of self-propulsion performance was reconfirmed.

Purpose : The purpose of study was to develop generalized validity evaluation methods and terms for Sasang type diagnostic tests. Methods : A generalized statistical evaluation model for Sasang typology was suggested and generalized validity evaluation indices were proposed with this model. Results : The usefulness of validity evaluations, such as sensitivity and specificity values, were confirmed by the systematic review of the data from previously reported studies. Conclusion :Major obstacles in the multi-facet analysis and systematic review for Sasang type diagnostic tests were discussed with this test validity study.

This paper describes a new method of stability evaluation for an estimated impulse response of a plant. It is difficult for the conventional stability evaluation equation to be used in an adaptive feedforward control system which uses an immeasurable acoustic transfer system of a real plant, because the equation requires an exact true impulse response of the plant. Therefore, the usefulness of the conventional equation is limited in a computer simulation. The proposed method is applicable to not only a computer simulation but also a real feedforward adaptive control system. It is found that the system is stable when the value of misadjustment is below -10 dB through computer simulations and experiments. And also, it is proved that the error signal is stable through the verification using filtered reference and filtered error LMS methods.

The capital cost of the company is one that must be paid to the money owner as the price by using the money. The capital cost according to the source of money supply can be estimated by the expected profit rate undertaken by the use of the capital. But in the area of pre-existent economic evaluation, the evaluation of the company investment has been treated by the profit rate of the capital after considering the repayment conditions of the other's money or the interest. Thus in this study, in case the company makes an investment on various kinds of the capital at the same time, not make use of the capital as a one source, the economic evaluation of an investment should be handled by taking the weighted average cost of capital into consideration in proportion to the constitution of the capital cost by the sources of money supply, Especially, as the cost of the private money is very much connected with the profit rate through the stock market, the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) will be applied. This kind of economic evaluation method can be said to have much to do with the Economic Value Added : EVA) as well as to be highly thought as a standard to estimate the company' value recently To certify the usefulness of this approach, the case study of the output of the capital cost will be made for the purse of the economic evaluation of the alternative investment by using the financial statements of a motor company H.

This study is focused on the reliability evaluation for distribution system based on deterministic evaluation technique. Average failure rates, average outage time, and average annual outage time of electrical parts and load points are calculated through network reduction method and failure mode & effective analysis method. And reliability indices of distribution system are calculated. Finally, by employing analytic hierarchy process method, unique index which evaluates and improves the distribution system is calculated. As a result, finding weak points and expansion schedule of the system is possible. The usefulness of this method is verified by applying it to the Inchon International Airport.

This study analysed the long-term plans of academic libraries to raise their usefulness at universities in Korea. Especially, this study focused the evaluation of strategic plans, and drew an evaluation guideline based on the evaluation methods of strategic plan of academic library in foreign countries. This study checked the long-term development plans of academic libraries in Korea, and evaluated how much the core elements of strategic plan are reflected in the long-term plans. As the result, it has come out that there are more characteristics of operation plans as routine services than those of strategic plan as long-term view which contributes to the development of libraries in the long-term plans of academic libraries in Korea.

Since the late 1990, "Smart clothing" has been developed in a various way to meet user centered design and human engineering that considered usability, wearability with clothing. Under this circumstance, research and development of smart clothing has been demanded usability and wearability test. But, Study of the usability evaluation for sensor based smart clothing is insufficient. In this study, we suggest criterion of usability evaluation for sensor based smart clothing that evaluate on the point of view such as wearability of clothing, interaction of clothing and devices, interaction of body and devices. we performed qualitative and quantitative test with developed smart clothing to present usability evaluation criterion for sensor based smart clothing. As a result, total 7 categories such as 'usefulness', 'wearability', 'appearance', 'riskness', 'facility of management', 'perceived change', were extracted as the usability and wearability criterion. Additionally, 28 factors of evaluation criterion for sensor based smart clothing were indicated on the result of this research. This study have meaning to indicate usability evaluation criterion for sensor based smart clothing.

The present study aims to design an application for anger control training of individuals and test its practical usability with the goal of encouraging preventive training in daily life. This study also investigates, through usability evaluation, whether users can use the application to carry out the actual anger management training program, whether it is useful and convenient, and whether it produces adequate learning effects. In order to conduct usability evaluation, a usability evaluation scale comprised of six factors-utility, reuse intention, learning, error, and reflectivity-was derived, and survey items tailored to each factor were produced. The association between usability evaluation elements, user demographic parameters, mobile usage behavior, and state anger was also examined. The result demonstrated that additional menus and features are necessary to increase the usability of the application for anger management. The result also revealed that it is vital to build an intuitive application interface that users unfamiliar with mobile app functionality can easily navigate, as well as to add entertaining components in the content, as users may be somewhat bored. On the basis of the findings, ideas of modifying and creating anger management training programs were discussed.
