In this paper, we propose a non-linear interpolation of chrominance components based on the property of luminance signals to display color images effectively. The proposed method is more useful, in particular, for the images including stair-typed signal changes around edges. Experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to conventional methods in both objective and subjective performance.

Bearing diagnostics is difficult in a gearbox because bearing signals are masked by the strong gear signals. Self adaptive noise cancellation(SANC) Is useful technique to seperate bearing signals from gear signals. While gear signals are correlated with a long correlation length, bearing signals are not correlated with a short length. SANC seperates two components on the basis of correlation length. (omitted)

We study the propagation property of the transient signals along the microstrip using the wavelet transform. Wavelet transform can offer the time-frequency windows. It makes the resolution of time high in high frequency range and the resolution of frequency high in low frequency range. So It is useful to analyze the signals which have both low and high frequency components.

Parenteral nutrition (PN) is effective and relatively safe method providing nutrients to patients with a nonfunctioning or insufficiently functioning gastrointestinal tract via peripheral or central vein. In last several decades, useful steps have been taken in the understanding of nutritional needs, physiological changes and complications of intravenously fed patients. PN includes amino acids, glucose, lipids, electrolytes, vitamins, iron, minerals and trace elements, and must be based on individual circumstances such as patient's age, health status and disease. The purpose of this review is to introduce overall components and recent updates of parenteral nutrition.

Carbon/Epoxy composite specimens formed with buttress groves are fabricated. The buttress form of groove is useful in any application where high shear loads are transferred in one direction between structural components. It is a primary object of the present study to test and evaluate the shear load carrying capability of a carbon/epoxy composite structure with buttress grooves for military applications

In this paper, the pre-precessing method for the recognition of single vowels by use of spectrum envelope is presented , we use new method of an extrating spectrum envelope using the diffusion filter bank. We reduced the total processing time, and got higher enhancement of discrimination . By getting 88.3% of average recognition rate for single vowels of real voice through computer simulation, we confirmed it to be useful for speech recongition which use spectrum analysis for voice signal to have many frequency components.

The $C_B$ statistic, a generalization of Mallows's $C_L$ statistic, is developed to determine the shrinkage parameter. Since not all cases in a data set play an equal role in forming $C_B$, a subdivision of $C_B$ into individual components for each case is developed. This subdivision is useful both as an aid in understanding $C_B$ and as a diagnostic procedure.

For the effective reduction of structural vibration level it is important to obtain the exciting force components. But, sometimes direct force measurement is infeasible due to the geometric limitation of sensor placement. In this case, indirect force identification becomes useful tool for obtaining input force information. In this paper, indirect force technique was applied to air-jet weaving machine and shows some numerical results.

A categorical data analysis system in the World Wide Web is proposed with an easy- to-use environment . This system is composed of four components. First, this system presents several graphical displays for Exploratory Data Analysis for categorical data. Second, it provides some measures of association Including dynamic graphics for mosaic plots of Hartigan and Kleiner (1981) and Friendly (1994). Dynamic graphics for mosaic plots give some useful informations. Third, this system can analyze categorical data with loglinear models. So we can select the best fitted loglinear model interactively.
