Optimal Operation for Green Supply Chain with Quality of Recyclable Parts and Contract for Recycling Activity

  • This study discusses a contract to promote collection and recycling of used products in a green supply chain (GSC). A collection incentive contract is combined with a reward-penalty contract. The collection incentive contract for used products is made between a retailer and a manufacturer. The reward-penalty contract for recycling used products is made between a manufacturer and an external institution. A retailer pays an incentive for collecting used products from customers and delivers them to a manufacturer with a product order quantity under uncertainty in product demand. A manufacturer remanufactures products using recyclable parts with acceptable quality levels and covers a part of the retailer's incentive from the recycled parts by sharing the reward from an external institution. Product demand information is assumed as (i) the distribution is known (ii) mean and variance are known. Besides, the optimal decisions for product quantity, collection incentive of used products and lower limit of quality level for recyclable parts under decentralized integrated GSCs. The analysis numerically investigates how (1) contract for recycling activity, (ii) product demand information and (iii) quality of recyclable parts affect the optimal operation for each GSC. Supply chain coordination to shift IGSC is discussed by adopting Nash Bargaining solution.

전남지역의 문화관광축제 상품현황 분석 (Market Analysis of Cultural Products Sold in Jeonnam Cultural Tourism Festivals)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify development strategies of high value-added cultural products in order to help promote Jeonnam cultural tourism festivals. In order to achieve this purpose, we carried out a market survey of cultural products sold in cultural tourism festivals held successfully within the Jeonnam area.The subjects of this study were local festivals which were labeled as cultural tourism festivals by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from 2000 to 2008. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, a store survey was conducted to analyze the categories of products on offer. As a result, the most frequent product was accessories (46.2%), followed by clothing and miscellaneous goods (25.2%), ceramic products (14.8%), interior decoration products (9.1%), and stationery (4.6%). Secondly, in the design motif used for cultural products, most products did not contain festival or local images. Cultural products with festival images made up 47.2% of the range, while only 2.3% of products on offer contained local imagery. The remaining 50.3% of cultural products for sale did not use festival or local images. Finally, in terms of materials used, most products used metal (36.7%), followed by textiles (32.9%), ceramic (13.8%), wood (6.2%), plastic (6.2%), paper (3.6%), and leather (0.2%). For price range, 52.4% of product were equal to or below 10,000 won, followed by 33.1% between 10,000-30,000 won. The results of this study showed that the cultural products of Jeonnam festivals lacked symbolism of the region or festival itself. Furthermore, items and the price ranges were not diverse enough. A possible solution would be to address this short coming, but more importantly, design a marketing and commercial strategy tailored towards the promotion of cultural products which contain both regional and festival imageries.

  • Derivation of modern products from the by gone age has contributed much for the new modern living. It has been generally recognized that the various ethnicities in Borneo with different backgrounds had made Borneo a place of cultural diversity. However as time passed, most indigenous products are no longer in used or are stored in poor condition. Most products nearly aged over a century are still in a good condition with invaluable sentiments. Indigenous product is an artifact that had been designed and used by certain community of people such as tools, clothing, crafts and goods. Each design may have its own identity to the community. Some of the indigenous products which are no longer in use at present are kept by the community as their collections. The research reveals similarities in the interests of indigenous products, concerns and realities of indigenous communities from the different regions. The study suggests that learning about indigenous materials, such as hand-made products and machine-made products is necessary for the local industry to develop a product identity that is distinctly local. Most indigenous products show evidence of connections to old traditions, yet are new to the design market.

  • Recently, flexible displays have been used as part of fashion beyond the concept of parts for electronic products. The flexible display applied to wearable fashion products flexibly bends according to the wearing position of the human body and, at the same time, decorates the fashion product more splendidly through the screen on which images or videos are displayed. Flexible displays, which are used for clothes and accessories, combine analogue fashion sensibility with digital screens to create a new level of convergence product design and expand the range of fashion design and fashion materials. This study aims to analyze the trends of the development and commercialization of fashion products that use flexible displays. As a research method, theoretical research and empirical research through case analysis were conducted in parallel. First, as a theoretical study, the morphological and technical characteristics of flexible displays were examined. Through theoretical studies, the effect of the characteristics of flexible displays on the development of wearable fashion products was investigated. Second, as an empirical case study, the design of wearable fashion products using flexible displays over the past 10 years and the characteristics of the displays used in the products were analyzed. Based on the characteristics analyzed, the product design, display and product integration methods and the commercialization stages of wearable fashion products using flexible displays were analyzed.

충남 친환경학교급식의 농식품 속성 가치 분석: 감자, 콩나물, 토마토를 중심으로 (Analysis on the Value of Attributes of Agricultural Products for Chungnam School Food Service: Focused on Potato, Bean Sprouts and Tomato)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the value of attributes of agricultural products in school food service using hedonic price model and choice experiment. In the case of potatoes, bean sprouts, and tomatoes, environment-friendly agricultural products rather than conventional ones, and domestic price premiums exist rather than Chungnam. The higher the price, the higher the margin rate. Conventional agricultural products were more profitable than environment-friendly ones, and domestic products were more profitable than Chungnam. In consumer preferences, environment-friendly agricultural products are preferred over conventional agricultural products and local products (Chungnam, Cheonan, Asan) rather than domestic ones. This is the opposite result of the Hedonic price model estimation that Chungnam has a lower price premium than domestic in the case of origin. This study is meaningful by analyzing the attribute value of agricultural products used for school meals in Chungnam and comparing them with the willingness to pay consumers. With the results of this study, it is necessary that discussions on supplementing the value of local products used in Chungnam school food service.

학교급식에서의 냉장.냉동 축.수산물 및 가공품 이용현황 및 관리실태 조사 (Assessment of Utilization and Storage Management Practice of Frozen and Refrigerated Foods in School Foodservice -Focus on Meats, Seafoods and Processed Foods-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate utilization and storage management practice of the frozen and refrigerated foods in school foodservice. 222 dietitians employed in school foodservice were surveyed. In school foodservice, the refrigerated stock farm products and seafoods (78.3%) were more used rather than frozen products (47.5%). According to school foodservice characteristics, the refrigerated meats including dairy products were more frequently used in elementary and middle schools than high school foodservice. On the other hand, the foodservice in high school used more frozen seafoods and processed foods than elementary school did. The data also showed a tendency for the contracted foodservice using more frozen meats and seafoods rather than refrigerated products when comparing with the self-operated foodservice. In terms of receiving conditions, storage methods and storage time, the result indicated that frozen or refrigerated products were often delivered at inappropriate temperature. Especially some products which were needed to be shipped and stored at refrigerated temperature such as mollusks, were delivered and kept at room temperature. The most frequently used thawing method were running water (56.9%), however, the frozen products were often sitted at room temperature for the purpose of thawing. According to the results, several inappropriate handling processes for frozen and refrigerated products were found in school foodservice. In order to improve handling process for frozen and refrigerated products, recognition of food handlers' weakness about storage and distribution, development of radical standards for receiving conditions, storage and thawing methods should be debated.

  • Felt, is one of the Korean traditional woolen fabrics, that is thermally excellent and durable, so it has been widely used for various living goods from the ancient time to the modern society. Felt makes various changes in colors and shapes, does not change easily even after a long-term use, and is easy to clean. In this study, the origin and history of felt were researched. Also, different kinds and shapes of felt and the currently used manufacturing technique, and how the Korean traditional pattern-applied cultural products were developed using felt were examined as well. The method of this study were as follows. First, felt manufacturing techniques used after investigating the precedent studies, books, records and literatures of museums, the existing relics of felt were examined. Second, the conditions of the traditional pattern-applied cultural products were found out through the precedent studies after examination of kinds and symbols of the Korean traditional patterns. Third, patterns that were applied to cultural products were selected and designed with new patterns. Fourth, the past techniques were conducted with the following three methods by referring to the range of cultural products manufacturing; )color felt made with one color, pattern felt, and pattern-embroidered felt. Fifth, the following products combined with decoration and practical application by applying felt techniques were used. This study was aiming at the development of practical cultural products made with the traditional wool, felt, which can receive a good response from all age groups. It is allegedly required to develop various cultural products through studies and the rediscovery of the national traditional materials. In the future, it is necessary to study in such a way that diversification and differentiation are made through approaches and attempts with various techniques.

염화벤잘코늄(Benzalkonium chloride) 살균제의 용도 및 건강 위험에 대한 고찰 - 가습기 살균제를 중심으로 (A Review on the Health Risks Associated with the Use of Products Containing Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC), Focusing on Humidifier Disinfectant Products)

  • Background: Benzalkonium chloride (BKC) has been extensively used as a preservative in industrial products and in hygiene, medical, and cosmetic applications. Humidifier disinfectant (HD) products containing BKC have been used in South Korea. Objectives: This study was aimed to review types of products containing BKC, to summarize the regulations in the US, EU, Japan, and South Korea, and to review the health effects associated with the use of HD. Methods: We reviewed and summarized documents which were searched through PubMed and Google Scholar with the key words: BKC and asthma/contact dermatitis, humidifier disinfectant-associated lung injury (HDLI), and more. Results: Regulations in most countries including South Korea do not allow its use as disinfectants in spray-type of products for medicine, cosmetics, and household products. Two types of HD containing BKC (800~1,270 ppm) were marketed in South Korea from 1996~2003. Health effects reported from people who used products containing BKC were allergic contact dermatitis, erythema, and respiratory disease, including asthma. Two people who responded as HD users containing BKC only were confirmed to have developed asthma. HD-associated lung injury (HDLI) was reported by consumers who used both HD containing polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG) and HD containing BKC. Conclusions: In conclusion, the use of BKC as a biocide has to be controlled considering the route and pattern of exposure. Products containing BKC as preservatives were reviewed with exposure routes and sites in the human body such as skin, eyes, and the respiratory tract. HD containing BKC was clinically evaluated to be associated with asthma.

수입유박 대체 비료자원 발굴을 위한 농업부산물 발생량 추정 및 양분 함량 조사 (Estimation of Agricultural By-products and Investigation on Nutrient Contents for Alternatives of Imported Oil-cakes)

  • 본 연구는 비료자원으로 이용 가능한 국내 부존자원인 농업부산물의 활용성 제고를 위해 발생량을 추정하고, 주요 비료 성분 (질소, 인산, 칼리) 함량을 선행연구 및 자료들을 수집하여 향후 수입 유박 대체를 위한 국내 자원 발굴 및 활용에 관한 기초자료로 활용하고자 하였다. 2018년 농작물 생산량과 환산계수를 활용하여 주요 34종의 농작물 부산물의 연간 발생량을 추정하였다. 전체 농업부산물 중 볏짚이 50.3%로 가장 많이 발생하였으며 그 다음 왕겨가 8.7%로 벼 재배 후 발생되는 부산물이 전체 59.0%로 대부분을 차지하였다. 또한 농촌지역에서 발생되는 부산물 40종에 대한 비료 성분 (질소, 인산, 칼리)의 함량을 목록화 하였으며, 농업부산물의 질소, 인산, 칼리 성분의 평균 함량은 각 1.43%, 0.59%, 1.90%로 나타났다. 2018년 기준 26종의 농업부산물의 연간 질소공급 잠재량을 추정한 결과 44,911톤의 질소를 공급할 수 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 조사된 농업부산물들은 질소, 인산, 칼리 등 비료 성분을 함유하고 있으나 유기질 비료의 주원료로 사용되는 아주까리 유박의 비료 성분 함량에 비해 대체적으로 낮게 나타났다. 농업부산물은 발생하는 시기나 장소, 양분 함량이 매우 다양하기 때문에 이를 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 관리방안 수립이 필요하며 국내 농업부산물을 활용한 비료 및 퇴비 연구를 통하여 수입 유박을 대체하는 자재 개발 및 보급이 요구된다.

전통 색동이미지를 응용한 문화상품개발에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Development of Cultural Products that Utilize the Traditional Saekdong Image)

  • This is a study regarding the development of cultural products with applied traditional Saekdong-image. The objective of this study is to develop unique cultural products which combine traditional korean images with modern feel by utilizing traditional Saekdong-image. Saekdong has been an object of deep attachment and regarded as a tool for expressing korean images from ancient times to the present. Chosun dynasty shows a wonderful growth of fashion not only in dress but also in such accessories as patchwork wrapping-cloth and Saekdong, which imply a lot on formation or color arrangement. Approximately 24 pieces of cultural products that can be used in daily life were created using Saekdong, including traffic or credit card cases, name card cases, pouches, coin purses, bags, Vest, teapot wrapping-cloth, brooch. After design plans were made for each works, natural dyes were used to dye(dip dyeing) the fabrics(cotton, silk, linen) by theme. In addition, the increased quality of the products will be a competitive edge in the world market where products compete with no national bounds.
