Analysis of Seasonal Airborne Radon Concentration Characteristics in Public-Use Facilities

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of airborne radon concentration by season in public-use facilities in South Korea. Research design, data and methodology: The data is provided by the public data portal, and public-use facilities nationwide where radon in the air is measured are specialized sanatorium for senior citizens, libraries, childcare facilities, postpartum care centers, medical institutions, funeral halls, underground shopping malls, and underground subway stations. Results: The facility with the highest radon concentration in public-use facilities was childcare facilities with an average of 50.2 ± 21.7 Bq/m3, while the average of medical institutions was the lowest at 24.8 ± 5.7 Bq/m3. The season with the largest difference in average radon concentration between childcare facilities and medical institutions was in the order of fall (28.6 Bq/m3), followed by winter (28.1 Bq/m3), spring (23.0 Bq/m3), and summer (22.0 Bq/m3). Conclusions: The main concentration levels of each public-use facility shown in this study are all below domestic and international standards, but there is a significant concentration difference between facilities. By season, winter showed the highest average concentration (40.6 ± 21.3 Bq/m3) and summer showed the lowest average concentration (23.8 ± 14.0 Bq/m3).

  • In the irrigation facilities, the irrigation system is connected systematically, and thus, it agrees to the object-oriented concept. Since it is necessary to go through comparative evaluations and to devise several alternatives plans in designing the irrigation system, it will be very efficient to use the objects that contain the design data. In this study, the object-oriented methodology has been proposed to define the objects, which will be used in the design system of irrigation facility. Furthermore, as for the essential elements of the objects, concept of element objects is formulated. By employing this concept, appropriate element objects have been derided for the irrigation facility. Necessary data model for realization of the objects is examined and selected. And then, required elements for applying the selected data model to the irrigation facility will be proposed

  • In Article 311 of the Regulation on Occupational Safety and Health Standards requires the use of Korean Industrial Standards Act in accordance with the Industrial Standardization Act. However, the classification, inspection, maintenance, design, selection, and installation of explosion hazard locations for explosion and explosion prevention and internalization of 'safety' in the performance maintenance phase of electrical machinery and equipment There is no technical and institutional management plan for remodeling and alteration. Analysis of actual conditions and problems related to the installation, use, and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment, comparative analysis of domestic and international technical standards and systems, technical, institutional and administrative systems and systems related to installation, use, and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment, technical personnel and qualifications, etc. It is to propose legislation, system improvement, and technical standard establishment related to the maintenance of explosion-proof facility performance through improvement of the necessity and feasibility study for establishment of the legal status of the management site and management plan. As technical measures, KS standard revision (draft), KOSHA guide (draft) and explosion-proof facility performance maintenance manual were presented. In addition, the institutional management plan proposed the revised rule on occupational safety and health standards, the revised rule on the restriction of employment of hazardous work, and the manpower training program related to the maintenance of explosion-proof facilities and the qualification plan. Enhance safety at the installation, use, and maintenance stage of explosion-proof structured electrical machinery. It is expected to be used to classify explosion hazards, select related equipment, and to update and standardize standards related to installation, use and maintenance.

  • The method suggested in this thesis is the safe and economic method when testing rocket engine because ground test facility copies high altitude. We have decided to use the schematic of testing facility based on already known design method and test result, and we have decided the test condition for ground firing test of solid fuel. In addition the pressure of nozzle exit area is 0.1bar, we have designed the testing facility structure to test in this condition. Moreover, we have designed to reduce the accident probability.

  • This research used Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) to analyze the importance and priority of functional space and evaluation factors of each functional space of the military dining facility. Dining in the military is an important factor in restoring combat power and promoting morale. The military dining facility serves as a not only for meals, but also for watching TV, education and club activities. Workers working in dining facility spend most of their work hours in dining facility, perform tasks such as cooking, dishwashing, and leftover disposal, and take breaks. As such, the military dining facility is a space where various functions are performed, and space planning should take into account these various functions when planning the building of the dining facility. However, the criteria for defense and military facilities, which are the basis for planning the space of military dining facility, are calculated only by simply analyzing the standard floor plan to match the size of the person-to. Therefore, when there is space to be reduced in the total area, there are side effects such as leaving visible table space without consideration for priority or functional space, unseen office space, and adjusting the entire area through reduction of the lounge. Accordingly, based on the priority of the space that the staff of the military dining facility considers important, this research aims to analyze the characteristics of each functional space through classification according to its unique function. This can be an indicator that can be used as a basis for future revision of the building floor area standards of the defense and military facilities standards, and it can improve usability with an efficient space plan that takes into account the characteristics of the Korean military and the satisfaction of its workers. Furthermore, efficient use of the defense budget through rational building plans can contribute to budget reduction.

A Prototype of Distributed Simulation for Facility Restoration Operation Analysis through Incorporation of Immediate Damage Assessment

  • To rapidly recover ceased functionality of a facility after a catastrophic seismic event, critical decisions on facility repair works are made within a limited period of time. However, prolonged damage assessment of facilities, due to massive damage in the surrounding region and the complicated damage judgment procedures, may impede restoration planning. To assist reliable structural damage estimation without a deep knowledge and rapid interactive analysis among facility damage and restoration operations during the approximate restoration project planning phase, we developed a prototype of distributed facility restoration simulations through the use of high-level architecture (HLA) (IEEE 1516). The simulation prototype, in which three different simulations (including a seismic data retrieval technique, a structural response simulator, and a restoration simulation module) interact with each other, enables immediate damage estimation by promptly detecting earthquake intensity and the restoration operation analysis according to estimated damage. By conducting case simulations and experiments, research outcomes provide key insights into post-disaster restoration planning, including the extent to which facility damage varies according to disaster severity, facility location, and structures. Additional insights arise regarding the extent to which different facility damage patterns impact a project's performance, especially when facility damage is hard to estimate by observation. In particular, an understanding of required type and amount of repair activities (e.g., demolition works, structural reinforcement, frame installation, or finishing works) is expected to support project managers in approximate work scheduling or resource procurement plans.

일부 대학생의 방사선이용에 대한 태도 (Attitudes on the Use of Radiations in Some College Students)

  • 방사선이용에 대한 중요도에 비추어 볼 때 일반인 중 지식수준이 높은 대학생을 중심으로 한 방사선이용에 대한 태도 연구는 미미한 실정이므로 방사선이용에 대한 태도 특성을 파악하여 방사선이용에 대한 태도수준 향상을 위한 교육에 필요한 시사점을 도출하고자 대학생 517명을 대상으로 2005년 10월 10일부터 5일간에 걸쳐 설문조사를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 방사선 관련 교육을 받은 경험이 있는 경우는 주전공과 월수입에 따라서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, '내가 살고 있는 곳에 종합병원이나 대학병원이 설치되는 것을 찬성한다.'가 $3.73{\pm}1.00$점으로 가장 높은 태도수준을 나타냈고 '내가 살고 있는 지역에 방사성폐기물 처리장이 설치되는 것을 찬성한다.'가 $2.63{\pm}1.09$점으로 가장 낮은 태도수준을 나타냈다. 셋째, '우리나라의 원자력 발전소 및 방사성폐기물 처리장의 설치찬성'의 태도 수준에 비해 '거주지의 원자력발전소 및 방사성폐기물 처리장의 설치 찬성'의 태도수준이 낮게 나타났다. 넷째, 태도수준이 가장 낮은 '거주지역에 방사성폐기물 처리장이 설치되는 것을 찬성한다'에 대해서 성별, 학년에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타냈다.

유비쿼터스 시대의 도시기반시설물전자라이브러리 구축 및 활용 방안 (Construction and Application of Urban Foundation Facility Electronic Library in Ubiquitous Computing Environment)

  • 지방자치단체에서 공통으로 관리하고 있는 도시기반시설물의 목록을 정의하고 표준항목을 정립하며 표준사양을 작성하여 "도시기반시설물전자라이브러리(Urban Foundation Facility Electronic Library)" 구축 방안을 연구하였다. "도시기반시설물전자라이브러리"는 지리정보시스템에서 도시기반시설물 고유의 제원, 특성 및 형태 등 속성항목의 사양 값을 체계적으로 모아둔 컴포넌트 DB의 집합체로 정의하였다. 또한 도시기반시설물전자라이브러리가 구축된 후, 현장조사에서의 활용 방안, 급속히 현실화되고 있는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 도시기반시설물전자라이브러리를 RFID와 Sensor Network에 접목하는 방안을 제시하였다. 그리고 RFID를 활용한 시설물 관리 실험에서 RFID와 도시기반시설물전자라이브러리의 연계 사용이 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다.

시설물측량에서의 무프리즘 토털스테이션 활용성 연구 (A study on the Application of Non Prism Totalstation to Facility Survey)

  • 측량분야에 있어서 무프리즘 토털스테이션의 등장은 많은 분야에서 응용가능성을 가져왔고 지형측량을 비롯한 시설물 측량에서도 그 예외는 아니다. 본 연구에서는 무프리즘 토털스테이션을 이용하여 측량을 수행할 경우 발생할 수 있는 문제점이나 오차 등에 관해 실험을 수행하고 그 적용성과 정확도를 평가하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 대상물의 재질과 관측각도에 따른 정확도의 변화를 점검하고 거리에 비례한 레이저의 확산과 대상물의 색상이 정확도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한, 시설물을 대상으로 실측을 수행하고 그 결과를 분석함으로서 무프르즘 토털스테이션의 시설물 측량 활용성 여부를 판단하였다. 연구결과, 무프리즘 토털스테이션의 관측정확도는 대상물의 경도나 재질과는 관계없으며, 시설물 측량을 위해서는 합초동축시스템을 갖춘 무프리즘 토털스테이션을 이용해야 양호한 결과가 도출됨을 알 수 있었다.

용도 및 규모특성을 고려한 산업단지 공장시설의 부설주차장 설치기준 개선방안 연구 (A Study on Industrial Site Annexed Parking Unit Calculation Method by Considering Facility Use and Scale Characteristics)

  • 현행 주차장법상의 부설주차장 설치기준은 위락시설, 문화 및 집회시설, 단독주택, 공장 등 설치 대상 시설물을 9개 그룹으로 분류하고, 그룹 내 시설물에 대해서는 동일한 설치기준이 제시되어 있다. 지자체는 필요에 따라서 지자체 조례로 시설물의 종류를 세분하거나 설치기준의 2분의 1의 범위(${\pm}$50%) 안에서 이를 강화 또는 완화할 수 있도록 되어 있다. 최근 건축물의 종류가 다양해지고 기능이 혼재되어 같은 그룹에 속하더라도 시설물에 따라 주차장설치기준을 세분화할 필요가 있으나, 대부분 지자체의 경우 체계적이고 일관된 기준 없이 주차장법에서 제시된 시설분류기준에 강화된 획일적인 설치기준을 조례에 적용하고 있다. 특히, 산업단지 내 위치한 대규모 첨단제조시설의 경우 공정이 자동화되어 건물규모대비 근무인력이 소수임에도 불구하고 이에 대한 별도의 세부적인 구분없이 기타시설 또는 공장시설로 분류되어 일반 제조공장과 동일한 일괄적 기준을 적용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현장조사를 통해 산업단지 내 공장시설에 대한 기존 주차원단위 산정에 대한 문제점을 분석하고, 이를 해결하기 위해 방안으로 용도 및 규모특성을 고려한 부설주차장 설치기준 개선방안을 제시하였다.
