  • As blockchain technology has emerged as a security issue for IoT, technology which integrates block chain into IoT is being studied. In this paper is a research concerning token-based IoT service access control technology for data sharing, which propose a possessor focused data sharing technic by using the permissioned blockchain. To share IoT health data, a Hyperledger Fabric Network consisting of three organizations was designed to provide a way to share data by applying different access control policies centered on device owners for different services. In the proposed system, the device owner issues access control tokens with different security levels applied to the participants in the organization, and the token issue information is shared through the distributed ledger of the HFN. In IoT, it is possible to lightweight the access control processing of IoT devices by granting tokens to service requesters who request access to data. Furthmore, by sharing token issuance information among network participants using HFN, the integrity of the token is guaranteed and all network participants can trust the token. The device owners can trust that their data is being used within their authorized rights, and control the collection and use of data.

  • Technology of Internet of Things (IoT) which is receiving the spotlight recently as a new growth engine of Information Communications Technology (ICT) industry in the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution needs trustworthiness beyond simple technology of security. IoT devices should consider trustworthiness from planning and design of IoTs so that everyone who develop, evaluate and use the device can measure and trust its security. Increased number of IoTs and long lifetime result in the increased securituy vulnerability due to the difficulty of software patch and update. In this paper, we investigated security and scalability issues of current IoT devices through research of the technical, political and industrial trend of IoT. In order to overcome the limitations, we propose an automatic verification of software integrity utilizing and a political solution to apply cyber killchain based security mechanism using hash which is an element technology of blockchain to solve these problems.

  • In this paper, we introduce a testbed for testing the RF energy transfer technology in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment, and provide experimental results obtained by using the testbed. The IoT environment considered in this paper consists of a power beacon, which is able to wirelessly transfers energy via microwave, and multiple sensor nodes, which makes use of the energy received from the power beacon. We have implemented the testbed to experiment the RF energy transfer in such IoT environment. We have used off-the-shelf hardware components to build the testbed and have made the tesbed controlled by software so that various energy and data transmission protocol experiments can easily be conducted. We also provide experimental results and discuss the future research direction.

  • The structure of the IoT can be divided into devices, gateways, and servers. First, the gateway collects data from the device, and the gateway sends data to the server through HTTP protocol, Websocket protocol, and MQTT protocol. The processing server then processes, analyzes, and transforms the data, and the database makes it easy to store and use this data. These IoT services are basically centralized structures with servers, so attacks on the entire platform are concentrated only on the central server, which makes hacking more successful than distributed structures. One way to solve this problem is to develop IoT that combines blockchain. Therefore, the proposed research suggests that the blockchain is a distributed structure, in which blocks containing small data are connected in a chain form, so that each node agrees and verifies the data with each other, thereby increasing reliability and lowering the probability of data forgery.

  • Smart home with various IoT devices provides convenient and efficient services. However, security is important because sensitive information such as private video and audio can be collected and processed, as well as shared over the Internet. To manage such smart home IoT devices, we use blockchain technology that provides data integrity and secure management. In this paper, we utilize a PoS(Proof of Stake) method that verifies the block through the accumulated stake in the network rather than the computation power, out of the PoW(Proof of Work) block chain, in which the computation for the existing verification must be continuously performed. Among them, we propose a blockchain based system with DPoS(Delegated Proof of Stake) method to actively solve the scalability part, for security that is suitable for smart home IoT environment. We implement the proposed system with DPoS based EOSIO to show realization, and we show performance improvement in terms of transaction processing speed.

  • In a society where ICT technology is converged, the use of various network-connected devices such as IoT is spreading. Network-connected devices are inevitably exposed to the threat of hacking such as information leakage, and countermeasures need to be prepared to respond. Security certification system for IoT devices has been introduced to promote security of IoT products, and for this purpose, legalization and standardization of certification standards and methods are in progress. In line with this, in Korea, as the Information and Communication Network Act was revised in 2020, ICT convergence devices connected to the network were newly defined as "information and communication network connected devices," and the basis for the security certification system is being established. We summarized related domestic and foreign trends and suggest specific considerations for implementing the security certification system for IoT devices in South Korea.

  • A new button-shaped electrical device was developed for a smart fabric. This electric button can be sewn anywhere on the garment, similar to a traditional button fastener. t not only performs a decorative function but also makes the fabric suitable for use in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It has metallic through-holes such that it can be fastened onto a fabric by conductive sewing threads. When threaded through metallic holes, the button can communicate with the external device by transmitting and receiving data. In addition, it adds specific functions by stacking a detachable application layer on the base layer. It is robust to frequent washing, and thus has excellent repeatability for use as an IoT device. The feasibility of the electric button was successfully demonstrated by its ability to identify the physical activities of walking and running, monitoring ambient temperature, and turning on LED lights.

  • Pub/Sub (Publish/Subscribe) paradigm is a simple and easy to use model for interconnecting applications in a distributed environment. In general, subscribers register their interests in a topic or a pattern of events and then asynchronously receive events matching their interest, regardless of the events' publisher. In order to build a low latency lightweight pub/sub system for Internet of Things (IoT) services, we propose a GQSFPS (Group Quorum System-based Fog Pub/Sub) system that is a core component in the event-driven service oriented architecture framework for IoT services. The GQSFPS organizes multiple installed pub/sub brokers in the fog servers into a group quorum based P2P (peer-to-peer) topology for the efficient searching and the low latency accessing of events. Therefore, the events of IoT are cached on the basis of group quorum, and the delay-sensitive IoT applications of edge devices can effectively access the cached events from group quorum fog servers in low latency. The performance of the proposed GQSFPS is evaluated through an analytical model, and is compared to the GQPS (grid quorum-based pud/sub system).

  • Hearing-impaired people are increasing rapidly due to the global aging trend. Early detection of hearing loss requires an easy-to-use audiometry device for the public. Existing audiometry systems were developed as PC-based, PDA-based, or smartphone apps. These devices were often dependent on specific software platforms and hardware platforms. In this paper, we tried to improve software platform compatibility by using cross platform, and tried to implement IoT-based pure tone audiometry device which does not require sound pressure level correction due to hardware differences. Pure tone audiometry is available in a variety of ways depending on the type of hearing loss and age. Using the IoT-based audiometry device implemented in this paper, it will be possible for an app developer who lacks hardware knowledge to easily develop an app with various scenarios for hearing screening. The results of this study will contribute to overcoming the software and hardware dependency in the development of IoT-based healthcare device.
