The Study on Receptive Attitude of Advertising Message Forms and Information Sources According to SNS' Type and Use Intensity (SNS 유형과 이용강도에 따른 광고 메시지 형태 및 정보원별 수용태도에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated what kind of message forms and information sources more effect according to SNS' type and use intensity. To this end, this study did experimental analysis using collected data by survey which manufactured message forms and situational contents of information sources. According to analysis results, the effect of message forms showed difference according to SNS' type and use intensity. Realistic message showed greater effect in interest-based SNS and high use intensity. Evaluative message showed greater effect in relation-based SNS regardless of use intensity. The effect of information sources showed difference according to SNS' type. Friend or college and knower showed greater effect in relation- based SNS, and company showed greater effect in interest-based SNS. In the case of use intensity, friend or college showed the greatest effect without difference. Such results can provide a practical contribution in planning SNS advertising strategy. Future Studies need to expand survey variously into SNS and subject.

  • This study investigated experimentally how factors of SNS advertising attribute impact on advertising likeability and purchase intention according to use motive and use intensity of SNS. Firstly showing difference according to use motive of SNS, in user of motive to managing human relation, reliability of advertising contents has effect the largest and entertainment of advertising interest has effect also as important factor. In user of motive to sharing interest information, irritation of advertising on using SNS has effect the largest negatively and information of advertising's information offering capability has effect larger as positive factor. Next showing difference according to use intensity of SNS, in user of high intensity, reliability and information of advertising contents has effect larger than other factors. In user of low intensity, irritation of advertising has effect the largest negatively and other factors have effect very small. This results can provide a practical contribution that explains important factors in producing effective SNS advertising according to using behavior characteristics of SNS.

  • Purpose - This study aims to understand the relationship between Chinese local SNS usage and social capital building through Chinese international students in South Korea. A research model that illustrates the relationship between the SNS usage (i.e., intensity, communication and social capital building is proposed. Based on the analysis, this study will provide responses to the question of if SNS really presents the danger of trapping international consumers in their local comfort zone or enhance social capital for the users. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey questionnaire is circulated among the WeChat (a Chinese local SNS) users who are the Chinese international students studying in South Korea. The collected data is analyzed by structural equation method using SPSS and AMOS. Results - Proposed hypotheses of the positive relationships between the attachment of SNS use and both individuals' bridging and bonding social capital are supported. It's also supported that (1) interpersonal communication, (2) interpersonal communication with old friends, and (3) interpersonal communication for making new friends on SNS positively influence individuals' bridging social capital. Conclusions - This paper demonstrates the importance of intensity of WeChat use and interpersonal communication that impact Chinese international students' bridging and bonding social capital on WeChat.

Information Distribution of Sport Social Networking Sites: Their Use in Promoting Psychological Well-Being

  • Purpose: With the rapid information distribution of sport-related SNS, sport industry has utilized SNS as technical solution to distribute sport and health-related information. The current study examined the effect of SNS information use for running-specific content on running engagement and psychological well-being. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected via online survey of participants in marathon events of United States. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square test were conducted to compare demographics and psycho-behavioral outcomes among SNS information users and non-users for running-specific contents. Multivariate hierarchical regression was next employed to examine research hypotheses. Results: A mass-participant running event was used to test seven hypotheses related to the potential role of SNS for running content in promoting running engagement and life satisfaction. In general, findings revealed that use of SNS for running content along with frequency of use can perhaps facilitate running intensity and influence participation in running-related outdoor activities. Furthermore, while overall life satisfaction did not appear to be influenced by use of SNS for running content, there was a demonstrated influence on the individual satisfaction domains. Conclusions: The findings of current study suggest that sport SNS is information distribution media enhancing users' engagement and their six life satisfaction domains. Further implications were discussed.

  • This study aims to examine the difference in self-disclosure, Facebook use intensity, privacy concern, and trust between Facebook users with high and low levels of the privacy protection skills and then to investigate the effects of the variables on continuous use intention of Facebook. Results revealed that Facebook users with high level of privacy protection skill than those with low level of the skill show lower level of privacy concern, but higher level of Facebook use intensity and trust. In addition, privacy protection skill presented the significant moderating effects on the relationships between self-disclosure, trust, and continuous use intention of Facebook.

  • The aim of this study is to fill gaps in emerging empirical evidence and negative electronic word of mouth (NeWOM) in repurchase intention (RI) moderated by the roles of social network sites (SNS) and company mitigation response (CMR). This type of research is descriptive. The sample used in this study is online consumers who buy energy drinks, based on the questionnaire obtained by 145 respondents. Based on the results of testing the estimation of the structural equation model, it was found that the negative variable brand experience sharing had no significant effect on NeWOM; the negative variable electronic reviews had a significant effect on the electronic word of mouth variable, the negative variable electronic reviews had a significant effect on the negative electronic variable word of mouth, the variable intensity of the use of social networking sites can strengthen the direction of the causal influence between the negative variables sharing brand experiences on negative electronic words of mouth. The variable social networking sites usage intensity can strengthen the direction of the effect of causality between negative electronic review variables on negative electronic word of mouth, the negative brand experience sharing variable does not have a significant effect on the repurchase intention variable.
