A Study on Player's Immersion by Difference of Input Control Devices in Computer Games (컴퓨터 게임에서 조작도구의 차이가 플레이어의 몰입에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study sets a hypothesis on that the use of input control devices, which are similar to what we experience in real life, to control activities in games increases players' immersion rate, and compares general input control devices with dedicated input control devices in order to show appropriate results. Accordingly the process of the study is derived and the hypothesis is substantiated by understanding the relationship between game controlling activities and immersion rate. Overall satisfaction survey result on the use of dedicated devices shows that most players responded that they felt immersed enough in games when used dedicated devices and were highly satisfied. The use of the dedicated devices had positive impact on the increase of immersion rate in general. In order to increase immersion rate with controlling activities in games, the use of input control devices that are easy to handle and enable precise control is required, which shows that it will bring more fun and more increased immersion rate.

  • Most of the control point surveying use a triangulation point and a bench mark with Total Station and Level. nowadays, the research is being accomplished for practical use of GPS. but In this study the optimum time and the optimum occupation time are analyzed, so as to examine possibility of the control point surveying that use GPS continuous station data of National Geography Institute. Also, The efficient surveying methods that compare the result of data that processed using broadcast ephemeris with the result of data that processed using precise ephemeris. As a result of that, Error feature analysis of the control point surveying in connection with GPS continuous observation will provide us estimation of errors and efficient topography information acquisition

  • This paper achieved dynamic characteristics with test to use solenoid valve for flight model that have present. Designed pressure control virtual system which PWM solenoid valve to use test result. Examination compared solenoid valve dynamic characteristics in atmosphere and cryogenic fluid and presented technique and valuation method that measured upstream and down stream pressure of solenoid valve, as well as, temperature, excitation voltage etc. These test results could confirm solenoid valve response time and maximum using frequency characteristic at use in atmosphere and cryogenic temperature and this derived design variables pressure control system from those bases.

  • As exhaust emission standards for new passenger cars amended in 1987 have become more stringent, vehicle manufacturers have employed three-way catalyst in order to meet these requirements. The purpose of this study was to gather informations on new emission control systems in customer use for in-use vehicles from the 1987 through 1992 model years were capable of achieving low exhaust emission levels although high levels do occur due to defects, deterioration or maladjustments with the emission control equipment. The vehicles with closed loop electronic control fuel injection system emitted low exhaust emission, but the carburetor control system equipped vehicles emitted high exhaust emissions and the high mileage vehicles exhibited higher average emissions than low mileage vehicles. It was also found that the useful life of 80, 000km is very important to maintain the low emission levels within customer service period.

Development and Effects of a Prevention Program for Cell Phone Addiction in Middle School Students (중학생을 위한 휴대전화 중독 예방 프로그램 개발 및 효과 검증)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a cell phone addiction prevention program for middle school students, and to examine the effects of the program on self-esteem, self-efficacy, impulsiveness, and cell phone use. Methods: The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pre-test-post-test design. The participants were 63 middle school students (31 in the experimental group and 32 in the control group). Students in the experimental group were given the cell phone addiction prevention program. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 14.0 program. Results: Students in the experimental group reported a significant increase in self-esteem compared to students in the control group. Students in the experimental group also reported a significant decrease in cell phone use compared to students in the control group. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that the cell phone addiction prevention program was effective in increasing self-esteem and decreasing cell phone use in middle school students.

A Study on the Compressive Strength and Drying Shrinkage of Concrete Depending on Mineral Admixture Kinds (혼화재 치환 콘크리트의 압축강도 및 건조수축에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is to investigate the mixture proportion, compressive strength and drying. shrinkage of concrete depending on mineral admixtures such as fly ash (FA), blast furnace slag (BS) and cement kiln dust (CKD) under various contents of admixtures. The use of CKD had little effect on strength development at 3 days, while the use of FA and BS lead to similar compressive strength compared with that of control concrete. Concrete with CKD exhibited a reduction of compressive strength at 91 days, meanwhile concrete with FA and BS had a increase compared with that of control concrete. Drying shrinkage of concrete depending on CKD and BS increase compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼20\%$, while the use of FA exhibited reduce compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼15\%$.

  • Coastal diaster induced by waves and countermeasures were investigated in the viewpoint of reduction of overtopping rate with enviroment in fishing port. The reduction method of wave overtopping rate using ecosystem control structures was proposed and studied on the efficiency by hydraulic and numerical experiments. The estimation models on wave overtopping rate was proposed after comparing previous models with dimensional analysis and experimental results. Control function o fwave overtopping by use of ecosystem controlstructures was simulated and discussed with combining wave shoaling-dissipation-breaking deformation model around ecosystem control structures and newly proposed calculation model for wave overtopping rate. Feasiblilty of ecosystem control structures could be confirmed for reduction of wave overtopping and fisheries-based multipurpose development of coastal zone.

  • Most turbo machines, which operate at high speeds, such as gas turbines, jet engines, pumps, and compressors are prone to perrturbing vibrations. The best vibration control method for rotors is to eliminate destabilizing factors. Careful balancing application of "more stable" oil-lubricated bearing, such as tilting pad bearings or use of anti-swirl devices in seals, are examplse of passive vibration control methods. the use of magnetic bearing is an active control method. An obvious advantage of active control is that it provides damping (or modifies system stiffness or other parameters) only when there is a need for that, i.e., in emergency states, while not affecting the rotor normal operational conditions. Moreover, active control methods provide exact position control through on-line control. In this study, a magnetic actuator, digital contrliier using DSP, and bipolar operational power supply/amplifiers were developed to show the effectiveness of reducing robot vibration. Also the curve fitting procedure to obtain the transfer function of frequency dependent component was developed. Results presented in this dissertation will provide a well-defined technical parameters in designing magnetic damper system.er system.

  • Recent increase in accessibility to the internet makes it easy to use the internet-connected devices. The internet could allow any user can reach and command any device that is connected to the network. But these teleoperation systems using the internet connected device have several problems such as the network time delay, data loss and development cost of an application for the communication with each other. One feasible solution is to use local and external network line for the network time delay, transmission control protocol for data loss and Java language to reduce the development period and cost. In this study, web-based remote control system using Java language is newly proposed and implemented to a pneumatic servo control system to solve the time delay, data loss and development cost. We have conducted several experiments using pneumatic rodless cylinder through the internet and verified that the proposed remote control system was very effective.

  • One of the key objectives of control systems is to maintain a system in a specific stable state. To achieve this goal, a variety of control techniques can be used and it is often uses a feedback control method. As known this kind of control methods requires mathematical model of the system. This article presents seesaw unstable system with two propellers which are controlled without use of a mathematical model instead. The goal was to control it using training data. For system control we use a logistic regression technique which is one of machine learning method. We tested our controller on the real model created in our laboratory and the experimental results show that instability of the seesaw system can be fixed at a given angle using the decision boundary estimated from the classification method. The results show that this control method for structural equilibrium can be used with relatively more accuracy of the decision boundary.
