서울외곽순환고속도로 버스정류장 승하차 및 환승통행실태 (A Study on Passengers' Travel Characteristics at Bus Stops on Seoul Ring Expressway)

  • 본 연구에서는 교통카드 자료를 활용하여 서울외곽순환고속도로에 운영 중인 6개 버스정류장의 통행실태를 도출하고 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. 첫째, 전체버스정류장의 통행자수 중 구리 37.56%, 의왕청계 36.9%로 대다수를 차지하여 두 버스정류장이 시설개선의 우선순위가 높은 것으로 도출되었다. 둘째, 의왕청계는 환승통행비율이 높아 버스정류장 시설 개선이 중요하며, 구리는 환승통행비율뿐만 아니라 승차와 하차비율도 높아 버스정류장 시설, 버스정류장까지의 접근로 시설, 방향별 버스정류장간 연결시설 개선도 중요한 것으로 도출되었다. 셋째, 출근시간대에 다른 정류장에 비해 구리(하행)버스정류장의 총환승대기시간이 상대적으로 길어 버스배차간격 개선의 우선순위가 높은 것으로 산정되었다. 넷째, 구리와 의왕청계 정류장을 이용하는 통행 중 가장 많은 기종점은 성남시 분당구인 것으로 나타났으며, 향후 버스노선 개편 등에 이러한 통행특성결과를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The process of designing Cheonggyecheon Entrance Plaza began with researching four keywords: plaza, restoration. modernity and icon. The outcome of the research was reinterpreted into and informed the design. An urban plaza must not only be a stage for civic life but should also be a portrait of the city to which it belongs. Many Korean plazas, however, are treated as if they are parks. Yeouido Park, which was originally a vast urban void, and Seoul Plaza, recently paved with grass, are good example. The strong 'green myth' can hinder socio-political activities. Cheonggyecheon cannot be said to have been 'restored', since it is still disconnected from its origin and upper streams, and the water is circulated by electricity. So it is better understood as an artificial urban waterfront, rather than an ecologically restored stream. This fact might diminish its ecological value, but not its recreational one. The entrance plaza therefore should reflect that the new stream brings back an 'experience', not only water itself. At the same time, the catch phrase of this restoration project was 'post-modern'. The demolished Cheonggye Expressway represents the 'economy drive' of the 1970s, so the newly opened Cheonggyecheon serves as a perfect counterpart to it. But modernity in Korea is the spirit that made many of the good things, not only its shortcomings, we have now. And from the philosophy of this restoration project, we can see that it is still an ongoing attitude in a way. Remnant of Cheonggye Expressway can evoke our nostalgia for the era. There are plenty of symbols in Seoul, both as architecture and objects. But none of them provide citizens with experience, other than the experience of looking at them. Cheonggyecheon Entrance Plaza is a good place to serve as an icon for a dynamic Seoul. From the research, the designer concluded that this plaza should commemorate the incomparable horizontal experience of Cheonggyecheon and the old expressway, amid the vertical metropolis. The Pedestrian Sculpture, which people can stroll on and look out over Cheonggyecheon, is to be made of steel cladding with a core structure and represents the dynamism of the stream, Seoul and contemporary Korea. The choice of material and the steel structure are also ways of creating the icon. The Water Plaza, the space underneath the ramp, will accommodate people and their urban activities, providing an opportunity to play with water. The Waterblades will be a device for the dramatic beginning of the stream, simultaneously camouflaging ugly openings in the outlets. The Wall of Archaeology is to be made with pre-fab resin blocks, translucent enough so that people can see through any archaeological findings of the site. The strong water-resistant character of resin makes the wall steady throughout the flood season as well. Cheonggyecheon restoration project is an effort to combine contemporary urban demand with the once-existing physicality by evoking our nostalgia for it. The project itself shows many socio-political issues of present-day Korea. The entrance plaza design thus is focused on suggesting an icon for the metropolis, simultaneously celebrating the stream itself. Within this space, people will be exposed to a unique experience that any 'green myth' cannot offer.

버스전용차로를 분리시설로 활용한 Express Lane 구축에 관한 연구: 경부고속도로 판교-한남 구간을 중심으로 (A Study on Construction of Express Lane Applied by Bus Only Lane as Seperation Facility: Focused on Pangyo-Hannam Section of Gyeongbu Expressway)

  • 고속도로의 도시부 구간에서는 IC간 구간의 길이가 짧아 단거리 통행 차량의 많은 이용으로 지 정체 현상의 원인이 되고 있다. 그리고 중앙버스전용차로가 시행되고 있는 고속도로는 버스가 버스전용차로에 진출입을 하면서 일반차로 차량 흐름에 방해를 주며 차량 간의 상충으로 위험한 상황을 초래하기도 한다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 고속도로의 도시부 구간에서 효율적으로 운영하기 위한 새로운 차로운영 방안으로 버스전용차로를 활용한 Express Lane을 제안하고, 경부고속도로의 판교-한남구간을 대상으로 구축한 Express Lane에 대한 효과를 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 VISSIM 5.4를 활용하여 시나리오 설정에 따른 효과 분석을 실시하였다. 효과를 평가하기 위한 지표로 평균지체시간, 통행속도, 총 통행시간 등을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 대상구간에서는 Express Lane의 수를 1개 설치할 경우에 가장 좋은 효과를 나타나고, 전체교통량 중 장거리 교통량이 25%를 차지할 때 가장 이상적인 교통상황이 구현되는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 버스전용차로를 활용한 Express Lane 구축은 도로의 소통을 원활하게 할 뿐만 아니라 안전적, 비용적 측면에서도 긍정적인 효과를 나타내므로 의미있는 연구라고 판단된다.

Modeling Study on Dispersion and Scavenging of Traffic Pollutants at the Location Near a Busy Road

  • The information about the dispersion and scavenging of traffic-related pollutants at the locations near busy expressways is very helpful to highway planners for developing better plans to reduce exposures to air pollution for people living as well as children attending schools and child care centers near roadways. The objective of the current study was to give information in the dispersion and scavenging of vehicle-derived pollutants at the region near a busy urban expressway by a combination of two different model calculations. The modified Gaussian dispersion model and the Lagrange type below-cloud scavenging model were applied to evaluate $NO_x$ dispersion and DEP (Diesel exhaust particles) wet removal, respectively. The highest $NO_x$ was marked 53.17 ppb within 20-30 meters from the target urban expressway during the heaviest traffic hours (08:00AM-09:00AM) and it was 2.8 times higher than that of really measured at a nearby ambient measuring station. The calculated DEP concentration in size-resolved raindrops showed a continuous decreasing with increasing raindrop size. Especially, a noticeable decrease was found between 0.2 mm and 1.0 mm raindrop diameter.

A Real Time Traffic Flow Model Based on Deep Learning

  • Urban development has brought about the increasing saturation of urban traffic demand, and traffic congestion has become the primary problem in transportation. Roads are in a state of waiting in line or even congestion, which seriously affects people's enthusiasm and efficiency of travel. This paper mainly studies the discrete domain path planning method based on the flow data. Taking the traffic flow data based on the highway network structure as the research object, this paper uses the deep learning theory technology to complete the path weight determination process, optimizes the path planning algorithm, realizes the vehicle path planning application for the expressway, and carries on the deployment operation in the highway company. The path topology is constructed to transform the actual road information into abstract space that the machine can understand. An appropriate data structure is used for storage, and a path topology based on the modeling background of expressway is constructed to realize the mutual mapping between the two. Experiments show that the proposed method can further reduce the interpolation error, and the interpolation error in the case of random missing is smaller than that in the other two missing modes. In order to improve the real-time performance of vehicle path planning, the association features are selected, the path weights are calculated comprehensively, and the traditional path planning algorithm structure is optimized. It is of great significance for the sustainable development of cities.

CVM을 적용한 경인고속도로 일반화 및 선형공원 조성사업의 편익 측정 (Measuring Benefits of Developing a Linear Park in the Gyeongin Expressway Downgrade Project by Applying CVM)

  • 본 연구는 인천광역시에서 추진하고 있는 경인고속도로 일반화 사업으로 조성될 선형 공원이 제공할 여가 및 휴양 서비스 그리고 방음벽 및 옹벽 철거와 경관 개선에 따른 주거환경 개선의 비시장적 편익을 조건부가치측정법(CVM)을 적용하여 측정하였다. 인천시 내 여러 구역에 걸쳐 있는 선형공원의 특성과 일반도로로 전환되지만 인근 도시 주민들 역시 통행할 수 있다는 점을 감안하여, 본 연구는 경기도와 서울시 일부지역 주민들을 잠재적 수혜자로 보고 표본에 포함하였다. 2018년 4월에 이루어진 1,000명 대상 CVM 설문조사에서 응답자들의 70% 정도가 경인고속도로 일반화 사업을 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 아울러 저항응답자들을 제외한 757명의 분석표본의 50% 정도가 추가세금을 납부할 의사가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 선형공원 형태의 녹지공간 조성에 찬성할수록, 그리고 본 사업이 주변 주거환경 개선에 도움이 될 것이라고 생각하는 응답자들일수록 추가세금 납부를 긍정적으로 평가하였다. 경인고속도로 일반화 사업을 위한 연간 지불의사 평균은 인천시 거주자들이 15,300원 정도, 그리고 수도권 거주자들이 6,800원 정도로 측정되었다. 본 사업의 간접영향권이라고 볼 수 있는 수도권 거주자들도 본 사업을 위해 상당한 금액을 지불할 의사가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

도시내 다차선도로의 교통류특성 및 모형 연구 - 한남대교 지역을 중심으로 - (Traffic Flow Characteristics and Model on Multi-lane Roads in Urban Areas)

  • Traffic flow characteristics is analysed on eight multi-lane roads which are unsignalized in urban areas. Data of traffic flow rates by classification and average speed were gathered every ten minutes interval for twenty-four hours. Machine (NC-90A) was used to acquire the field data. The major purpose of this study is to build up speed-density models on urban arterial roads. Five different kinds of models were tested. Those models are Greenshields' model, Greenberg's model, modified Greenberg's model, Underwood's model and Drake's model. The modified Greenberg's model fits best at six points and the Greenshield's model fits best two points out of eight points. The breakpoint(Kb) of modified Greenberg's model is between 10 and 32 pcphpl. Capacity drawn from speed-volume relationships were appeared to be arround 2,000 and 2,200 pcphpl at the Hannam Bridge and the Hannam Overpass and 1,100 and 1,700 pcphpl at Namsan Tunnel(No1) and the beginning point of Gyeong-Bu Expressway.

GIS와 RS를 이용한 도시확산 포텐셜 평가기법의 개발 (Development of a potential evaluation method for urban expansion using GIS and RS technologies)

  • This study aims to develop a potential evaluation method for urban spatial expansion using remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS). A multi-criteria evaluation method with several criteria and their weighting values was introduced to evaluate the score and quantification of the potential surface around the existing cities. The six criteria with one geographic factor, slope, and five accessibility factors, time distance from center of the city, national road, interchange of expressway, a big city, and station, were defined for the potential. RS techniques were applied for classification of the actual urban expansion maps between two periods, and GIS functions were used for score of accessibility criteria with a distance decay function from geographic, road and several point maps, which was developed in this study. The new methodology was applied to a test area, Suwon, between 1986 and 1996. In order to optimize the six weighting values, this study made new findings to search the optimal combination of the weighting values from new methodology, weighted scenario method for intensity order (WSM), combined with intensity order and AHP method, including a trial and error method for sensitivity analysis to make the intensity order. The optimal combination of the weighting values by the new method generated the optimal potential surface, considering spatial trend of urban expansion in the test area.

커넥티드 차량 보급률 기반 고속도로 돌발상황 검지시간 추정 (Estimation of Incident Detection Time on Expressways Based on Market Penetration Rate of Connected Vehicles)

  • 최근 인공지능 (Artificial Intelligence: AI) 기술 발전으로 폐쇄회로 TV(Closed-Circuit television: CCTV)와 같은 영상 센서에 AI 기술을 도입하여 특정 돌발상황을 검지하고 있으나 대부분 고정식 장비 기반으로 돌발상황 검지가 진행되어왔다. 따라서 모든 도로 공간에 대한 돌발상황 검지에는 한계가 존재해왔다. 그러나 영상 센서와 edge-computing 기술 등의 발전으로 이동식 영상정보수집 및 분석 기술이 확산되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 이동식 영상 수집 및 분석 장비(커넥티드 차량)의 도입 수준에 따른 돌발상황 검지시간 감소효과를 추정하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 2021년 경부고속도로 수원지사에서 수집된 돌발상황 발생 건수 자료를 활용하였다. 분석 결과 편도 2차로 고속도로는 커넥티드 차량의 보급률(Market Penetration Rate: MPR)이 4% 이상, 편도 3차로 고속도로는 3% 이상이면 돌발상황 검지 시간이 1분 이하로 나타났고, 편도 2차로와 편도 3차로 고속도로에서 MPR이 각각 0.4% 이상, 0.2% 이상이면 한국도로공사에서 발표한 평균 돌발상황 검지시간 보다 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

GIS와 RS를 이용한 농촌지역 토지이용 및 도시화 변화현상의 시공간 탐색 - 용인 및 안성지역을 중심으로 - (Spatio-temporal change detection of land-use and urbanization in rural areas using GIS and RS - Case studies of Yongin and Anseong regions -)

  • This study analyzed the spatio-temporal change detection of land-use and urbanization in Yongin and Anseong regions, Kyunggi Province, using three Landsat-5 TM images for 1990, 1996, and 2000. Remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) techniques were used for image classification and result analysis. Six land-use types were classified using supervised maximum likelihood classification. In the two study areas, the land-use changed significantly, especially the decrease of arable land and forest and increase of built-up area. Spatially, the urban expansion of Yongin region showed a spreading trend mainly along the national road and expressways. But in Anseong region the expansion showed 'urban sprawl phenomenon' with irregular shape like starfish. Temporally, the urban expansion showed disparity - the growth rates of urbanized area rose from the period 1990-1996 to 1996-2000 in both study areas. The increased built-up areas were converted mainly from paddy, dry vegetation, and forest.
