A Study on the Art Management and Cultural Activities in China from the K-Wave Case

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between Art management and Cultural activities in China from the K-wave case. Research design, data, and methodology: This study used the method of the cases study survey, with the K-wave case in as the survey objects, 3 valid survey sample case were collected in this paper. Results: The two dimensions of art management and cultural activities differently influences from the K-wave, and the influence of availability on customer satisfaction is not significant. Conclusion: The results of this study will provide useful reference for the Art management and Cultural activities in China from the K-wave case. And improve the development of art management and cultural activities in China by improving the K-wave of service quality. Art management can shape urban commercial space in a beneficial way, create a good consumption atmosphere, and enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the city. The introduction of art elements into urban commercial space can create a strong cultural atmosphere, so that the city presents a smart look. Art management has a positive impact on K-Wave production and operation activities, which can promote the shaping of art commercial space, the promotion of urban cultural atmosphere.

Linking Urban Development Density with Infrastructure Capacity (GIS를 활용한 도시개발과 기반시설의 합리적 연계)

  • Urban infrastructure is a core of urban growth management which concerns with location, time and costs of development. Despite an inevitable link between development density and infrastructure capacity in urban areas, little study have been performed. For this reason, development activities are undergone without any clear evidence or analysis. The main purposes of this paper are to build subject maps of urban infrastructure capacity which illustrate the level of education service and road capacity, and to give reference standard for development decision at given location. For these purposes, the case study of the high-rise multi-purpose buildings in Daegu metropolitan city is performed. The main findings are follows. First, road ratio is high in the CBD and its surrounding areas as well as rural area, and low in areas of manufacturing, parks and military use. Second, educational facility, represented by the number of student per classroom of elementary school, is fairly abundant across the city, especially in the CBD and rural areas. Third, the high-rise multi-purpose buildings have been built in population-losing infrastructure-abundant areas, in general. Based on these results, this study concludes that the high-rise multi-purpose buildings may induce population-inflow and have low possibility to bring about overly dense developments.

Evaluation of the Economic Value of Potential Ecosystem Services of Unexecuted Urban Planning Facilities - Focused on Urban Green Spaces and Urban Forests in Seoul - (미집행 도시계획시설의 잠재적 생태계 서비스 가치평가 - 서울시 공원 및 녹지를 중심으로 -)

  • According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, the total area of unexecuted urban planning facilities in Korea is about $1,257km^2$, of which 47% is the unexecuted urban green space and forests. In the case of Seoul, the total area of unexecuted urban planning facilities is about $66km^2$, which is 5.24% of the total unexecuted area in the entire country. In Seoul, approximately 88% of the total unexecuted area is urban green space and forests, which is higher than the national rate. About 92% of the unexecuted urban planning facilities are long-term unexecuted urban planning facilities that are more than 10 years old. This study assessed the economic value of potential ecosystem services, focusing on the regulation service, supporting service, and cultural service, for urban green space and forests of unexecuted urban planning facilities in Seoul by using meta-regression analysis. As a result, the value of the regulation service provided by the urban green space and forests in Seoul was about 16.39 billion KRW, the value of the supporting service was about 5.8 billion KRW, and the cultural service value was about 7.78 billion KRW. The total value of ecosystem services is about 33.93 billion KRW. The values of regulation service and cultural service were the highest, and that was attributed to the characteristics of the downtown area. The significance of this study is to evaluate the value of ecosystem services for unexecuted urban planning facilities in Seoul. The results of this study can be used not only in the process of urban planning or policymaking but also land compensation methods applying the concept of an ecosystem service payment system.

A Study on an Optimal Requirement and Allocation Planning of Emergency Service Facilities (긴급서어비스 시설의 적정소요 및 배분)

  • This paper considers urban emergency service systems that dispatch vehicles (facilities) from fixed bases with the objective of finding an optimum allocation of emergency facilities. A case study of fire station problem of Seoul city is conducted to analyze the deployment of fire-fighting resources and develop a class of improved deployment strategies with Parameteric Allocation Model (P.A.M.). The study shows a long term plan leading to balanced fire protection for most fire hazardous districts as well as low alarm districts.

The Effects of Area-Specific Social Network on Life Satisfaction (영역별 사회연결망이 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study investigated the effect of area-specific social networks on urban workers life satisfaction. For this, 356 adults over age 20 were interviewed from June 17th 2013 to June 29th 2013. The findings are as follows: First, the closeness of family network index demonstrates that participants with higher affective support have higher life satisfaction. In addition, stronger extended family network brings more life satisfaction and so does a bigger friendship network. Secondly, the extended family network explains 17.6% of the variance in social networks follows by family network, other network, and friendship network, respectively. The closeness variable of social networks yields statistical significance on all categories of networks. The affective support level in the closeness variable of social networks shows differences as well; family network positively associates with life satisfaction. The purposes of this research are to investigate the actual conditions of urban workers' life satisfaction and the influence of family, extended family, friendship, and other variables on life satisfaction. If social networks have an influence on life satisfaction, to find the domain of social networks that holds the most influences on life satisfaction is an important ground in the process of implementing regional welfare.

Food Service Management in Elementary School in Chunnam Province (전남 초등학교의 급식유형별 급식관리 실태)

  • This study was undertaken to assess the school flood service management and its perception by dietitians. Questionnaries were developed and answered by 162 dietitians in elementary schools in Chollanam-do. The duration of the flood service system was the longest in remote areas followed by rural and urban areas. The average number of persons served a day was 680 per dietitians. More than three schools were supervised by 52.4% of dietitians. Lack of facilities, including restrooms for the flood service personnel and storage compartments for convenience products were indicated. Regardless of the type of school flood service system, the dietitians pointed out that they urgency needed gas fryers, gas griddles and vegetable cutters, which would be helpful in preparing fried flood for the students. Despite the dietitians' eagerness to teach nutritional education, 80.9% of the respondents did not provide nutritional education to the students, because of the lack of class roomtime. It was suggested that the teaching nutritional education by dietitians was desperately needed for the improvement of health and the nutritional status of school children.

A study on the management-maintenance system in urban park (도시공원의 관리체계에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the more efficient system for management in urban park through the investigation of the managemental condition. Research sites for managemental condition were 9 municipal park managemental offices in Seoul, Pusan and Taegu. The degree of the managemental state in these parks was generally passive and low. So, each of them had to consider the ways how to buy private-owned sites, to standardize facility maintenance, to characterize the managemental objects, to enlarge managemental personnels and systems, to apply entrusting management, to plan user-service strategies and to shorten expenditures. Particularly the positive managemental improvement in user control was demanded to cope with the changing social needs. In long term, they had to develop basic elements for the reasonable park management, clear park maps, area of facilities, the event, citizen participation, budgets and etc., and had to prepare the middle-long term management plan and the precise analysis to the managemental criteria.

  • The basic goal of urban safety is to support citizens' quality of life and city competitiveness, and its importance is increasing. Since the risk of disasters is growing, there is a growing demand from society for minimizing the damage by preventing and responding to them in advance. In case of urban governments, securing safety emerges as one of the most important policy tasks due to natural disasters such as heavy rain and heavy snow and human disasters such as various accidents. Recently, it is emphasized the necessity to increase the prevention effect through disaster analysis using Big Data. This study examined paradigm change of disaster safety management using big data centering on Seoul city. In particular, the study tried case analysis from the viewpoint of maximizing effective government services for disaster safety management, and sought the strategic meaning in connection with the ordinance.

Utilization of SketchUp for Efficient 3D Modeling of Buildings

  • The information management system for urban planning, urban management and related decision making is increasing an importance in recent years. Especially, the information about 3D buildings in urban area is necessary for urban management related precise location based service. However, it takes a lot of time, effort, and costs to produce 3D modeling data of buildings. These problems have been found in many studies, but the research to solve these problems is still necessary. In this study, we have tested an efficient 3D modeling method of building to solve these problems. SketchUp was used to test 3D modeling methods with OSM(OpenStreetMap) data. The other 3D modeling method using a digital map was tested. The 3D modeling of building data was efficient using PlaceMaker, which can use OSM data. In addition, modeling was possible through simple editing of the digital map and automatic building generation. The efficiency of the research results is presented by comparing with the traditional method based on the regulation and the stadard man power issued by Korean government. These two 3D modeling methods of building tested through the study can be used as basic data for related research and work. Additional studies should be conducted to improve the accuracy of the building model and determine how to obtain height data efficiently.

A Study on the Technical Method for Urban Scenic Quality Map - Focused on Urban District Area - (도시 경관도 작성 기법 연구 - 시가화 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • Nowadays, as a result of increasing income and spare time, the social demands for better living environment become more increasing. Above all, landscape improvement, the essential part of physical environment, will be a more important subject in urban planning. In these circumstances, classification of urban scenic quality is required for urban landscape development programs. The major purpose of this study is to suggest a technical method of designing urban scenic quality map for urban district area based on the scenery management system of the USDA forest service and literature studies. As a conclusion of this study, four steps are desirable for the technical method for designing a scenic quality map of urban districts areas : 1) Define a landscape unit on the map, 2) Take a photograph of these landscape unit on site, 3) Evaluate the landscape unit by semantic differential scale with landscape adjectives, and 4) Draw the scenic quality map, investigate the landscape characteristics and suggest the landscape scenic development plans.
