  • The purposes of this study are carrying out the case study for the urban park planning in point of landscape ecology, analyzing and evaluating the indicator character of the landscape ecological view on the basis of the case study, and proposing the urban park planning in point of landscape ecology. The results of this study are as follows. As a result of the isolation analysis with school green space, Kyukchaebosang Park turned out to be 607m, Chimsan Park to be the highest 647.14m, Ehyeun Park to be the lowest 592m. In the case of connection analysis with all nodes, Kyukchaebosang Park had the lowest score 0.27 and Chimsan Park had the highest score 1. As a result of the circulation analysis with elementary schools, Kyukchaebosang Park and Ehyeun Park got 1 within 500m permissible range, and Chimsan Park got over 1, Ehyeun Park got 0.67, and Kyukchaebosang Park got 0.14 respectively within 700m permissible range. According to these analysis results, special regions which has problems such as high isolation and low connection and circulation in point of landscape ecology can be selected. Also by changing them to valuable green spaces, urban park planning can be improved. In this study, the basic data of landscape ecology can be obtained by the character analysis of landscape ecology. This study has a significant meaning of possibility in planning of the urban park which reflects the character of landscape ecology. This research was only performed in Chimsan Park, so additional researches for various cases will be needed.

  • As part of the housing policy on the concentration of large cities due to economic growth, large-scale construction was carried out for many years, but the focus of the quality improvement was largely on the quality supply. With criticism that such large-scale housing construction is distorting urban and rural landscape, it was forced from 2000 to apply the district unit plan to the development of housing sites with a certain scale and the district unit plan. In addition, it evaluated how the rural and urban landscape would look during the planning of the District Unit Plan, and how the resulting space would have an objective effect on urban and rural areas and how it would be evaluated for harmony. Therefore, this study applies and evaluates the weighted value of each inspection point selected by Lee lim jung (2016) to compare and analyze the actual application of the inspection point and the review report. As a result, it was assessed that no rational landscape planning was established because many simulation presentations were made at the lower priority point, and little was presented at the higher priority. The view point weights were distributed in the Landscape Review of the District Unit Plan with a score of up to 36 points from the lowest of 6 points, which resulted in the view simulation being reviewed in terms of various aspects.

  • As a basic study to analyze the relative importance of external space in urban development projects, this study selects evaluation indicators for external space planning and then analyzes systematic external space planning through expert surveys. The scope of the study is to examine the criteria of evaluation items for external space derived from existing studies and to suggest the importance and priority of evaluation items. As a research method, we reviewed the legal and research literature on landscape planning and external space-related guidelines, and conducted a primary review of external space planning evaluation items analyzed by questionnaire. The reviewed items were again reviewed and selected through expert group discussions (FGI). The selected evaluation items were surveyed by expert groups and analyzed in depth using the hierarchical analysis method (AHP). Looking at the relative importance of the calculated sub-items, among the 17 sub-items, 'planning open space' (.096) is the largest, followed by 'pedestrianization' (.082), 'linking with adjacent buildings, streets, parks, and green areas' (.077), 'securing public space through various planning techniques such as linking with pedestrian paths' (.066), 'Plan the placement, form, and scale of buildings in consideration of the identity of the destination' (.065), 'Plan buildings, streets, parks, and green spaces in an integrated and holistic manner' (.065), 'Harmonize with the surrounding environment (landscape)' (.063), 'Harmonize with surrounding buildings and apply landscape planning in urban planning' (.063), 'Entrances and lower floors of buildings are planned as parks for users and pedestrians' (.060), 'Preserve and expand green areas and establish maintenance plans for urban greening' (.054), 'Form the basis for a comfortable life for urban residents by providing long-term development directions' (.047), 'Activate community activities and plan pedestrian environments and streetscapes considering human scale' (.047), 'Establish and propose basic directions for urban greening' (.046), 'Plan buildings, streets, parks, and green areas considering the hierarchy and characteristics of the landscape structure' (.045), 'Plan for integrated land use' (.045), 'Create green axes in connection without cutting them due to development activities' (.044), and 'Apply barrier free design' (.034).

  • The purpose of this study is to extract landscape design elements regulation of the District Unit Plan(DUP) in new town areas, and to find out characteristics in terms of urban design elements in comparison with the psychological and physical aspects. For this purpose, we reviewed urban design elements and design elements in terms of the landscape by DUP and analyzed the activation of landscape on the selected case-area by interviewing experts such as planners, public officials, and professors in the department of urban planning and landscape, as well as the university students. The analysis framework for the case-study consists of 4 components: the section of region, street, building, open space, etc. The new development areas in Daejeon Metropolitan City was chosen as the case study area, because they have been developed by DUP regulations. As a result of this study, we can extract characteristics of landscape. The results indicate that `skyline design',`view corridor design',`landscape design',`street furniture design' and `building design(form, height, color, and elevation)' are the key planning and design factors influencing differences in the landscape preference. This research identifies that there are no detailed planning and design guidelines adopted within the four case study areas in Daejeon for regulating the characteristics of skyline, planting and street furniture while detailed guidelines established for density, building height and site layout. Considering their significant correlation with the level of landscape preference, this study suggests that detailed planning and design guidelines for the characteristics of skyline, rooftop and streetscape should be established in future DUP.

  • In the continued economic prosperity, concern about environment and landscape is converted to develop actual institutional system on conservation and management of landscape. In these transition periods, the objective of this study is to suggest limitations and improvements of landscape conservation system for each landscape type such as rural landscape, natural landscape, urban landscape, historical landscape through reviewing related policies, laws, and case studies. As a results, landscape conservation system is insufficient for each landscape type and is regulated sporadically by a few laws. In particularly, rural landscape has been damaged seriously since significance of it was lesser recognized than other landscape types. Urban landscape is managed by landscape ordinance and planning which local government developed, however it doesn't have effectiveness due to insufficient legal basis and related cases. Therefore to enhance recognition of landscape as well as to support the law of landscape which is established this year is required.

  • The materials that are involved in urban landscaping include plants and the associated animals, soil, water, and other environmental elements. And biodiversity is the substantial base for human beings. The conservation of biodiversity is of great importance in the sustainable development of the society and should not be neglected in the development of sustainable urban landscape. The conservation of biodiversity should be included in the urban landscape planning. The conservation of biodiversity should be emphasized in the construction of urban green space. Every possible opportunity should be used to conserve the species diversity, genetic diversity and ecological diversity. The assessment of biodiversity conservation should be introduced into modern landscape planning.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the rural landscape planning criteria for Korean rural area. For this, the meaning of rural landscape is defined, and the legislative framework and several legal processes are surveyed, including the deliberation system for natural landscape impacts and the Landscape Law recently legislated. Through literature studies and analysis, the rural landscape planning criteria are proposed, which have step-by-step processes; goals and objectives, analysis and estimation for present conditions, basic planning concept, landscape planning for different visual landscape types, landscape designing for visual elements, and practical action plans. Each processes are designed considering the existing legislative framework, so it can be well-matched to current systems. But, because there are few rural landscape plans so far, comparing to the urban landscape plans, the validity of this criteria should be verified in the future studies.
