An Analysis Study of SW·AI elements of Primary Textbooks based on the 2015 Revised National Curriculum (2015 개정교육과정에 따른 초등학교 교과서의 SW·AI 요소 분석 연구)

  • In this paper, the degree of reflection of SW·AI elements and CT elements was investigated and analyzed for a total of 44 textbooks of Korean, social, moral, mathematics and science textbooks based on the 2015 revised curriculum. As a result of the analysis, most of the activities of data collection, data analysis, and data presentation, which are ICT elements, were not reflected, and algorithm and programming elements were not reflected among SW·AI content elements, and there were no abstraction, automation, and generalization elements among CT elements. Therefore, in order to effectively implement SW·AI convergence education in elementary school subjects, we will expand ICT utilization activities to SW·AI utilization activities. Training on the understanding of SW·AI convergence education and improvement of teaching and learning methods using SW·AI is needed for teachers. In addition, it is necessary to establish an information curriculum and secure separate class hours for substantial SW·AI education.

  • 이 연구는 디지털 네트워크 세상으로 인한 새로운 학습이론인 커넥티비즘을 알아보고 SW 교육이 나가야할 방향을 알아보았다. 커넥티비즘에서 학습은 지식이나 정보를 연결하는 과정으로 정의하고 학습자가 기존에 알고 있는 지식을 바탕으로 새로운 지식을 끊임없이 연결하거나 단절시키는 과정이 반복된다고 말한다. 커넥티비즘에 따른 SW 교육의 새로운 방향을 제시하면, 1)SW 학습 목표는 지식의 연결과정으로 다양성과 가변성을 내포하여 설정하고, 2)현재 정보 교과서 개발 체재의 변화와, 3)협업과 네트워킹이 강조되는 도구를 활용한 SW 교육 활동을 지향하며, 4)교육 비용 절감을 위한 적시학습(just-in-time learning) 지향 및 5)SW 교육 목적에 합리적 의사결정을 통한 연결 지식 배양 역량을 추가하고, 6)문제 해결학습 보다는 문제발견학습을 중시하도록 설정해야 한다.

Gender Differences in Computational Thinking, Creativity, and Academic Interest on Elementary SW Education (초등 SW교육에서 성별에 따른 컴퓨팅 사고력, 창의성, 학습흥미의 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose instructional-learning strategies for designing effective software education investigating gender differences in computational thinking, creativity and academic interest on elementary SW education. 86 elementary school students who had SW education for 4 months, consisting of 49 boys (57%) and 37 girls (43%), participated for this study. They responded surveys regarding computational thinking, creativity, and academic interest. With the use of independent t-tests, this study found that there was significant differences in creativity and academic interest between boys and girls at elementary SW education. The mean of creativity of girls was higher than that of boys. however, the mean of academic interest of males was higher than that of girls. On the other hand, there was no difference in computational thinking between boys and girls. In conclusion, this study suggests design and implementation of successful SW education class considering gender.

  • 최근 국내외적으로 SW 교육에 대한 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 변화에 따라 올해 중학교에서 SW 교육을 시작으로 2019년부터는 초등학교, 고등학교에서도 SW 교육이 시작될 예정이다. 앞으로 SW 교육의 성공적인 안착을 위해서 컴퓨터교육 이전의 세대인 학부모에게도 SW 교육의 이해를 위한 적합한 교육이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 2015년 개정 정보과교육과정을 기반으로 학부모를 위한 체험 프로그램을 제시하고 평가한다. 제안된 프로그램의 이론수업은 새로운 교육과정의 SW 교육에 대한 정보를 제공하며, 실기수업은 컴퓨팅 사고력(Computational Thinking)을 기반으로 문제 해결을 체험하도록 구성된다. 제안된 체험 프로그램을 통하여 학부모는 정보과교육과정과 컴퓨팅 사고력을 이해하였고 SW 교육에 대한 긍정적인 반응이 증가되었다.

Needs of Improving the Curriculum of National University of Education for Strengthening SW Education (SW교육 강화를 위한 교육대학교의 교육과정 개선 요구 분석)

  • In order to provide basic data necessary for developing a curriculum to enhance SW education for elementary school teacher students, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 1,260 students at G National University of Education. The results are summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to improve class time of SW education for the college students and revise the SW curriculum to improve SW education capacity for teacher students. Second, in the liberal arts course, it is necessary to develop the teaching and learning materials and the textbooks using various software. Third, in the major course, the Subject Pedagogy programs should be expanded rather than the subject content programs. Fourth, in the specialization course, the programming language education focusing on the Entry and EPL should be strengthened so that it can be linked with the elementary school curriculum. In addition, it is necessary to expand the choice of subjects for the students by reducing the number of required courses and increasing the number of elective courses.

A Survey on SW Club Activities in Science Core High Schools (과학중점 고등학교에서의 SW동아리 활동 실태 조사)

  • This paper aims at analyzing SW club acitivities on the science core high school using information disclosure. Targeting 103 schools across the nation science core high schools, the factors influencing the SW Club was analyzed. And science core high school education plans, business plans and management reports were analyzed in SW club activities. It was the most influencing on the SW club in Creative-Experiential activities organization of computer courses. So computer curriculum reform is urgently needed. SW extra subject activities and funding was having a positive effect. Tuition reimbursement rates was having a negative effect. But academic achievement did not significantly affect. Therefore as many students as possible should be able to assist the SW extra subject activities. And it is required Programs and budget support that reflect the characteristics of local and school. Also, as science core high schools have STEAM education, science, mathematics and technology home economics teachers etc were leading the SW club activities by fusing the their curriculum and SW education. As these activities are consistent with the purpose of SW education, research should be more active autonomic consisting of various teachers.

Convergence thinking learning effect of SW liberal arts education for non-majors (교양수업에서 비전공자의 SW교육의 융합사고 학습 효과)

  • In the SW education of non-majors who encounter liberal arts education experience difficulties in the SW development environment and understanding they encounter for the first time, relevance to their major, and convergence thinking ability. In order to compensate for the difficulties of non-major learners in liberal arts education, a relatively easily accessible software was used to utilize a demonstration-oriented model that can be applied to beginners in SW education. In order to understand the logical flow of applications and problem solving used in real life, we proposed a convergence SW teaching method that combines repeated implementation through demonstration by the instructor and imitation of the learner, and learning indicators to increase the learning satisfaction and achievement of the learner. In the experiment applying the teaching and learning method proposed in this paper, meaningful results were shown when evaluating the learning effect, academic achievement, learning satisfaction, and teaching and learning method aspects of SW education.

Development of Goldberg device-based Software Convergence Education Tool (골드버그 장치 기반 소프트웨어 융합교육 도구 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a Goldberg device-based software(SW) convergence Education tool. The 2015 revised curriculum emphasizes convergence with various subjects for effective SW education. In particular, physics is often used as a material for SW convergence education because it is closely related to computational thinking such as sequential movement, quantification of energy and simulation. In this study, we developed an educational program based on the Goldberg device that utilizes physical knowledge, concepts and manipulation. In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, the survey questions were developed through Delphi verification and a basic satisfaction survey was conducted based on this. As a result, the developed program can be effectively used as a program for SW convergence education.

  • SW 교육은 SW 산업의 여성 인력 확대를 위하여 여성에게 알맞은 방식으로 도입 및 개선될 필요가 있다. 여성에게 적합한 교육을 찾기 위해서는 성별에 따라 SW를 인식하는 차이에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구는 'SW 개념 인지도'와 'SW 흥미도' 두 관점을 통해 성별에 따른 SW 인식 차이를 규명하였다. 그 결과, SW 개념을 인지 하게 된 경로는 비슷하며 SW 교육을 경험해 본 비율은 여학생보다 남학생이 많은 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 남학생이 여학생보다 SW 활동에 더 자신감과 흥미를 느끼는 것으로 나타났으며 희망하는 SW 교육방법에서도 성별에 따른 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 각 성별에 알맞은 교수학습 등을 연구하는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

Qualitative research of perception and experience of elementary pre-service teachers about SW education (초등예비교원의 SW교육에 대한 인식, 경험의 질적 탐구)

  • In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, improving computational thinking to solve problems by smoothly operating and utilizing software. Therefore, the ministry of education has introduced systematic SW education into public education as a revised 2015 curriculum with the aim of raising computational thinking. In order for SW education to be systematically stabilized at the school site, the teaching ability of the teacher must be supported above all. For this purpose, the government is promoting 'SWEET' for improvement of the elementary pre-service teachers' SW education program. However, even if the policy is pursued, there is a tendency to take measures to improve the teaching and learning methods in the field later, and since the subject of change in education is the teacher, it is necessary to grasp the reco-gnition, experience of teachers. This study analyzed qualitatively perception and experience of elementary pre-service teachers about SW education and suggested design guidelines for pre-service teacher training such as providing various learning examples.
