Warpage of injection molded product is caused by non-uniform shrinkage during shaping operation and relaxation of residual stress. Robust part design and glass fiber reinforced reins have been adopted to prevent warpage of part. Warpages for part designs have been investigated in this study according to the injection molding conditions. Part design contains flat specimen and two different rib designs in the flat part. Resins used in this study were glass fiber reinforced amorphous plastics, PC and ABS. Different rib designs showed significant differences of warpages in the parts. Various warpages have been observed in the three regions of the part, near gate region, opposite region to the gate, and flow direction region. Results of computer simulation revealed that the warpages were strongly related to glass fiber orientation. Flat specimen showed the smallest warpage and the specimen with ribs to the flow direction showed a high resistance to warpage. Warpage highly depended upon part design rather than molding condition. It was concluded that the rib design and selection of gate location in injection molding would be the most important factors for the control of warpage since those are directly related to the fiber orientation during molding.
The steam line break accident for Kori Unit 1 is analyzed by a code SYSRAN which calculates nuclear power and heat flux using the point kinetics equation and the lumped-parameter model and calculates system transient using the mass and energy balance equation with the assumption of uniform reactor coolant system pressure. The 1.4 f $t^2$ steam line break accident is analyzed at EOL (End of Life), hot shutdown condition in which case the accident would be most severe. The steam discharge rate is assumed to follow the Moody critical flow model. The results reveal the peak heat flux of 38% of nominal full power value at 60 second after the accident initiates, which is higher than the FSAR result of 26%. Trends for the transient are in good agreement with FSAR results. A sensitivity study shows that this accident is most sensitive to the moderator density coefficient and the lower plenum mixing factor. The DNBR calculation under the assumption of $F_{{\Delta}H}$=3.66, which is used in the FSAR with all the control and the shutdown assemblies inserted except one B bank assembly and of Fz=1.55 shows that minimum DNBR reaches 1.62 at 60 second, indicating that the fuel failure is not anticipated to occur. The point kinetics equation, the lumped-parameter model and the system transient model which uses the mass and energy balance equation are verified to be effective to follow the system transient phenomena of the nuclear power plants.lear power plants.

The uniform nanofibers of poly(L-lactide-$co$-${\varepsilon}$-caprolactone) (PLCL) with different contents of marine collagen (MC) were successfully prepared by electrospinning method. The effects of the major parameters in electrospinning process such as tip to target distance (TTD), voltage, nozzle size and flow rate on the average diameter of the electrospun nanofiber were investigated in generating composite nanofiber. The diameter and morphology of the nanofibers were confirmed by a scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Also, we measured a water contact angle to determine the surface wettability of the nanofibers. The average diameter of the nanofibers decreased as the value of TTD, MC contents, and voltages increased in comparison with that of pristine PLCL nanofiber. In contrast, the diameter of the nanofibers increased as the flow rate and inner diameter of nozzle increased in comparison with that of pristine PLCL. In addition, the hydrophilicity of the nanofiber and attachment of MG-63 cells on the sheets increased as incorporated collagen contents increased. Therefore, the marine collagen would be a potential material to enhance cellular interactivity of synthetic materials by mimicking the natural tissue.

The zinc oxide thin film, which can be applied as the gas sensor of a semiconductor type, was grown on the silicon substrate by CFR(continuous flow reaction) method in this study. The growth property and the electrical property of the zinc oxide thin films synthesized by CFR method were also investigated. Zinc acetate solutions of 0.005~0.02 M were used as the precursor for the preparation of zinc oxide thin films. The size of ZnO particles consisted on the zinc oxide thin film increased not only with increasing concentration of precursor, but also the thickness of thin film increased. The growth rate of zinc oxide thin film by CFR method was proportionably depend on the concentration of precursor and the uniform ZnO thin film was prepared when zinc acetate of 0.01 M is used as the precursor. The charged currents on the zinc oxide thin films were obtained as its electrical property by I-V meter, and increased agree with increasing the thickness of zinc oxide thin film. Thus, it was concluded that the charged current on the zinc oxide thin film can be controlled with changing concentration of precursor solution in CFR method. The charged currents on the zinc oxide thin films also decreased when ZnO thin film is exposed under hydrogen sulfide of 500 ppmv at $300^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. From these results, it could be confirmed that the zinc oxide thin film prepared by CFR method can be used for the detection of sulfur compounds.
Abstract: In this study, PAN/$TiO_2$ fiber mats were fabricated from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and titanium(IV) butoxide ($Ti(OBu)_4$) by an electrospinning method with various solution concentrations, applied voltages and solution flow rates. The fiber mats were irradiated with an electron beam to induce structural crosslinking and enhance photocatalytic activity. As a result, uniform and bead-free fibers without pits or cracks on surface were obtained at 5 wt% of $Ti(OBu)_4$ solution with 15 kV and 0.02 mL/min flow rate. The PAN/$TiO_2$ fiber mats were irradiated with an electron beam of 1.14 MeV acceleration voltage, 4 mA of current and $1{\times}10^4kGy$. Electron beam irradiation was enhanced the photocatalytic activity of PAN/$TiO_2$ nano fiber mat. The photocatalytic activity of the PAN/$TiO_2$ fiber mat was analyzed by degradation of methylene blue and volatile organic compounds.

It is required to develop a hull form with low resistance and high propulsive efficiency for the improvement of the ship-board operational economy. Since the hull forms with low resistance frequently have lower propulsive efficiency and on the other hand the hull forms with higher propulsive efficiency don't show good resistance characteristics, it is always very difficult to obtain economical hull forms which require less propulsive power accordingly. Efforts have been made to pursue a stern form with excellent resistance and propulsion characteristics together by shaping the run of the so-called buttock-flow type stern, which is known to have good viscous resistance performance, like that of conventional aftbody(U-type or Hogner type) featured by high propulsive efficiency. First model tests confirmed that the above concept can be one of the alternative approaches to the design of the good stern form and by the continuing efforts thereafter for the refining of the concept, propelled by the first promising results, stern form of good resistance performance together with good propulsive efficiency has been realized to some extent. In addition, it is confirmed that the new new stern can have better cavitation and vibration characteristics due to uniform wake-fields and the compact engine room arrangement can be possible due to it's larger floor area in way of engine room double bottom as compared with usual barge stern.
This study investigates the formation mechanism of columnar joints at the Sanin Kaigan Geopark in Japan based on its morphology, rock type and igneous structure. Columnar joints distribute to five areas of three prefectures. That is, Kyogasaki, Byobuiwa, Tateiwa and Kyugenkado in Kyotango area of Kyoto prefecture; Genbudo and Kinumaki Shrine in Toyooka City of Hyogo prefecture; Yoroinosode, Takanosushima, Mini-Yoroinosode in Kamicho Town of Hyogo prefecture; Miooshima and Nagasakihana, Shitaara Domon, Kuzakuishi, Moroyose dyke in Shinonsencho Town of Hyogo prefecture; Shirawara dyke in Iwamicho Town in Tottori prefecture. Igneous structures are divided into three types: lava flow, sill and dyke. Lithologies are divided into five types including basalt, andesite, dacite, rhyolite, and quartz porphyry. Lava flow shows colonnade and entablature. However, entablature is not seen in the sills and dykes in the area. Although the polygons of columnar joint vary from tetragon to octagon, hexagon is most frequently found. The width of colonnades ranges from 10cm to 1m, but their size does not correlate with its $SiO_2$ contents. Meanwhile, their size and morphology at single site are comparatively uniform.
The purpose of this study is to develop a two-dimensional land surface flood analysis model based on uniform square grid using the governing equations except for the convective acceleration term in the momentum equation. Finite volume method and implicit method were applied to spatial and temporal discretization. In order to reduce the execution time of the model, parallel computation techniques using CPU were applied. To verify the developed model, the model was compared with the analytical solution and the behavior of the model was evaluated through numerical experiments in the virtual domain. In addition, inundation analyzes were performed at different spatial resolutions for the domestic Janghowon area and the Sebou river area in Morocco, and the results were compared with the analysis results using the CAESER-LISFLOOD (CLF) model. In model verification, simulation results were well matched with the analytical solution, and the flow analyses in the virtual domain were also evaluated to be reasonable. The results of inundation simulations in the Janghowon and the Sebou river area by this study and CLF model were similar with each other and for Janghowon area, the simulation result was also similar to the flooding area of flood hazard map. The different parts in the simulation results of this study and the CLF model were compared and evaluated for each case. The results of this study suggest that the model proposed in this study can simulate the flooding well in the floodplain. However, in case of flood analysis using the model presented in this study, the characteristics and limitations of the model by domain composition method, governing equation and numerical method should be fully considered.

This study demonstrates a double-path CDI as an alternative of advanced wastewater treatment process. While the CDI typically consists of many pairs of electrodes connected in parallel, the new double-path CDI is designed to have series flow path by dividing the module into two stages. The CFD model showed that the double-path had uniform flow distribution with higher velocity and less dead zone compared with the single-path. However, the double-path was predicted to have higher pressure drop(0.7 bar) compared the single-path (0.4 bar). From the unit cell test, the highest TDS removal efficiencies of single- and double-path were up to 88% and 91%, respectively. The rate of increase in pressure drop with an increase of flow rate was higher in double-path than single-path. At 70 mL/min of flow rate, the pressure drop of double-path was 1.67 bar, which was two times higher than single-path. When the electrode spacing was increased from 100 to $200{\mu}m$, the pressure drop of double-path decreased from 1.67 to 0.87 bar, while there was little difference in TDS removal. When proto type double-path CDI was operated using sewage water, TDS, $NH_4{^+}$-N, $NO_3{^-}$-N and $PO_4{^{3-}}$-P removal efficiencies were up to 78%, 50%, 93% and 50%, respectively.
Nonhydrostatic effects on convectively forced mesoscale flows in two dimensions are numerically investigated using a nondimensional model. An elevated heating that represents convective heating due to deep cumulus convection is specified in a uniform basic flow with constant stability, and numerical experiments are performed with different values of the nonlinearity factor and nonhydrostaticity factor. The simulation result in a linear system is first compared to the analytic solution. The simulated vertical velocity field is very similar to the analytic one, confirming the high accuracy of nondimensional model's solutions. When the nonhydrostaticity factor is small, alternating regions of upward and downward motion above the heating top appear. On the other hand, when the nonhydrostaticity factor is relatively large, alternating updraft and downdraft cells appear downwind of the main updraft region. These features according to the nonhydrostaticity factor appear in both linear and nonlinear flow systems. The location of the maximum vertical velocity in the main updraft region differs depending on the degrees of nonlinearity and nonhydrostaticity. Using the Taylor-Goldstein equation in a linear, steady-state, invscid system, it is analyzed that evanescent waves exist for a given nonhydrostaticity factor. The critical wavelength of an evanescent wave is given by ${\lambda}_c=2{\pi}{\beta}$, where ${\beta}$ is the nonhydrostaticity factor. Waves whose wavelengths are smaller than the critical wavelength become evanescent. The alternating updraft and downdraft cells are formed by the superposition of evanescent waves and horizontally propagating parts of propagating waves. Simulation results show that the horizontal length of the updraft and downdraft cells is the half of the critical wavelength (${\pi}{\beta}$) in a linear flow system and larger than ${\pi}{\beta}$ in a weakly nonlinear flow system.
