  • 현재 다양한 전압보상설비들이 전력계통에 적용됨에 따라 각 기기의 특성을 이용한 설비간 상호 작용을 통해 전력공급의 유연성을 확보하고 설비들의 효율적인 활용이 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전압보상설비들[UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller Shunt elements(Sh. Capacitor & Sh. Reactor) ULTC(Under Load Tap Changing)] 간의 협조제어 모델링 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 각 부하모선별전압 요구치를 만족하도록 계통의 전압을 제어 및 유지하는 방안을 제안하였다. 이는 기기의 성능향상과 급변하는 전력계통 상황에 능동적인 대처가 가능할 것으로 기대되고, 수용가에 양질의 전력 공급이 가능하게 될 것이다.

  • This paper presents an UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controlled model that considered rating for stability study. The proposed UPFC model was implemented by PSS/E and IPLAN. As a control strategy for damping electromechnical oscillations, energy function method was adopted. By the adopted control law, the damping effect is robust with respect to loading condition, fault location and network structure. The effect of control of the UPFC model was demonstrated on a one machine infinite bus system.

  • KEPCO 80MVA UPFC has been operated in Gangjin Substation since May 2003. This UPFC is composed of 40MVA shunt inverter and 40MVA series inverter, and developed in technical cooperation between Hyosung and Siemens. KEPCO has tried to localize UPFC control technique after its installation and developed GTO Thyristor Valve Test Equipment for annual maintenance test. The development of this equipment make it possible to process GTO Thyristor module test automatically and manage historic data systematically, which could improve UPFC reliability.

  • In order to facilitate the electricity market operation and trade in the restructured environment, ample transmission capability should be provided to satisfy the demand of increasing power transactions. The conflict of this requirement and the restrictions on the transmission expansion in the restructured electricity market has motivated the development of methodologies to enhance the available transfer capability (ATC) of existing transmission grids. The insertion of flexible AC transmission System (FACTS) devices in electrical systems seems to be a promising strategy to enhance single area ATC and multi-area ATC. In this paper, the viability and technical merits of boosting single area ATC and multi-area ATC using Thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC), static VAR compensator (SVC) and unified power flow controller (UPFC) in single device and multi-type three similar and different device combinations are analyzed. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is employed to obtain the optimal settings of FACTS devices. The installation cost is also calculated. The study has been carried out on IEEE 30 bus and IEEE 118 bus systems for the selected bilateral, multilateral and area wise transactions.

  • In this paper a gearless drive system using a permanent-maget synchronous motor for high speed elevators is addressed. The application of permanent magnet synchronous motor to an elevator traction machine enables several improvements including higher efficiency better ride comfort smaller size and lighter weight and so on A PWM boost converter has been also adopted so that DC-link voltage regulation bi-directional power flow and controllable power factor with reduced input current harmonics are possible. To increase the reliability and performance of overall control system the unified control board which can include the car and group controller as well as PWN converter/inverter controller has been designed based on a DSP TMS320VV33. In addition the dynamic load simulator system has been developed so that the drive system of high speed elevator can be tested and evaluated without and limitation on ride distance. Some experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the developed system.

  • 최근의 전력 공급 시장에서는 전력 공급의 유연성을 확보함과 동시에 고품질의 전력을 높은 신뢰성을 가지면서 수용가에 공급하는 송전기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시장의 요구에 부응하여 송전 시스템의 유효전력 및 무효전력을 능동적으로 제어할 수 있는 FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) 기기의 개념이 도입되었다 FACTS기술의 개념은 기존에 수동적으로 제어하였던 선로의 전압, 임피던스 및 위상각을 능동적으로 제어함으로써 전력공급의 유연성 및 신뢰성을 높이는 것이다 국내에서는 과거 일련의 project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기외 국내 적용을 위한 연구를 수행해 왔으며, 그 결과를 토대로 한전 전력연구원, (주)효성, 미국 Siemens사 및 국내 연구소와 협동연구의 형태로 한전의 154kV 계통에 적용되는 80MVA급 UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) pilot plant project를 진행하고 있다. 본 pilot plant project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기인 UPFC를 실제계통에 설치, 운영함으로써 향후 한국의 기간 계통인 345kV 송전 시스템에 적용할 시스템의 사양 및 운용전략을 도출할 계획이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 계통의 특징, pilot plant가 설치될 지역의 계통현황 및 기기의 사양을 소개하고 기기의 현장 설치 및 시험 진행 상황에 대하여 설명하였다.

  • This paper represents a new approach for the protective relay of power transmission lines using a Artificial Neural Network(ANN). A different fault m transmission lines need to be detected classified and located accurately and cleared as fast as possible. However, The protection range of the distance relay is always designed on the basis of fixed settings, and unfortunately these approach do not have the ability to adapt dynamically to the system operating condition. ANN is suitable for the adaptive relaying and the detection of complex faults. The backpropagation algerian based multi-layer protection is utilized for the teaming process. It allows to make control to various protection functions. As expected, the simulation result demonstrate that this approach is useful and satisfactory.
