일방성(一方性) 복함재료(複合材料)의 파괴거동(破壞擧動) 및 강도평가(强度評價)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Strength Evaluation of Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics by Nondestructive Method)

  • 이상의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 초음파 C-scan 법에 의하여 층간분리, 기지균열 등의 손상 정도, 크기 및 형태의 판별이 가능하며 충격손상은 주로 섬유의 주축방향으로 성장한다. 2) 복합재료의 인장파괴시 적층구조에 따라 상이한 AE 양상을 나타내며 이 원인은 파괴 mode의 차이에 기인한다. 3) 섬유의 파단은 기지파단의 경우 보다 강력한 AE activity를 나타내며 peak amplitude의 분포를 분석하여 파괴 mode의 해석이 가능하다. 4) 복합재료의 파괴강도는 적층구조, 충격 손상 등에 영향을 받으며 응력파 계수(SWF)의 측정에 의해 정성적 평가가 가능하다.

극저온 환경에서 탄소섬유강화 직조/일방향 복합재료의 인장 물성 측정 (Tensile Properties of CERP Fabric/Unidirectional Composites under Cryogenic Environment)

  • This research aims to measure mechanical tensile properties of CFRP composites for cryogenic tank material. Through the cryogenic chamber, tensile tests are peformed under cryogenic temperature for graphite/epoxy fabric specimen aged at $-150^{\circ}C$ for 30hrs with load and graphite/epoxy unidirectional specimen 3-cycled from RT to $-100^{\circ}C$ with load. For graphite/epoxy fabric specimen, tensile modulus showed to increase after aging at cryogenic temperature(CT) while to decrease after aging at room temperature(RT) and tensile strength is more decreased after CT-aged than at RT-aged. For graphite/epoxy unidirectional specimen, tensile modulus was almost not changed after 3-cycling but strength showed the trend of decrease as increase the number of cycling.

일방향 CFRP 복합재료의 핀 베어링강도에 관한 시험편 치수의 영향 (Effect of Specimen Geometries on the Pin Bearing Strength of Unidirectional CFRP Composites)

  • The pin bearing strength is one of the most important design parameters for mechanical joints composed of fiber reinforced composites. Thus the effect of the edge distance and the width of specimen on the pin-bearing strength of unidirectional CFRP composites were experimentally investigated in this paper. As results, the failure modes and the pin bearing strength of mechanical joints turned out to depend on the edge distance and also the width of specimen. The failure of specimen with low ratio of width to hole diameter was caused by the net tension from the hole boundary, on the other hand, the failure of specimen with low ratio of edge distance to hole diameter was caused by the shear-out. The bearing strength in case of the failure by shear-out was quite lower than that in case of failure by net tension.

탄소섬유강화플라스틱의 적층구성에 따른 드릴 가공에 관한연구 (A study on the Drilling according to the Stacking Sequence of the CFRP)

  • The CFRP composite has a lot of merits such as mechanical characteristic, light and thermal resistance. For these merits, CFRP is applied to so many industrial area. In order to use the composite materials in the aircraft structures or machine elements, accurate surfaces for bearing mounting or joints must be provided, which require precise, machining. In this study, the specimens differentiating the stacking sequence of 5kinds were used. When drilling the carbon fiber reinforced plastics, it was checked on whether the stacking sequence reached any effect on the cutting force. Also relationship between the drill diameter is examined from the drilling experiment, which is the drilling of Fabric, Unidirectional specimen with ∅6mm, ∅10mm, ∅12mm cemented carbide drill. Considering cutting force and drilling diameter, the results are analyzed.

탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재(CFRP)의 표면처리가 금속재/CFRP의 전단강도에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (Effect of Graphite/Epoxy (CERP) Surface Treatment on the Shear Strength of CERP/Metal Composites)

  • In this study, the effect of surface treatment of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites) on the shear strength of CFRP/metal composites was investigated. The surface of 14 plied unidirectional (0-dog ) CFRP was treated by an $Ar^{/}$ + ion beam under an oxygen environment. Shear strength tests were performed using SLS (Single Lap Shear) specimens based on the ASTM D906-94a procedure. The shear strength of the surface-treated CFRP/metal composites was compared with that of the untreated CFRP/metal composites. The results showed that the shear strength of surface-treated CFRP/metal composites was 36% greater than that of untreated CFRP/metal composites.

드릴작업중 발생되는 일방향 적층 CFRP 복합재료의 손상평가 및 AE특성 (The Damage Evaluation and Acoustic Emission Characteristics of the Unidirectional Ply CFRP Composite Materials in a Drilling Procedure)

  • In recent years, composite materials like CFRP are increasingly used in various fields of engineering because of their unique properties which offer a high strength/density and high modulus/density. When CFRP structures are manufactured in drilling processes which are frequently practiced in an Industry, they bring on the delaminations sometimes. So, acoustic emission(AE) techniques were used for a condition monitoring of the drilling process in CFRP. In this study, the AE from CFRP estimated the delamination which reduces the strength and load carrying capacity under the drilling process and the initial delamination were well caught and measured by a video camera. From the results, it was found the relationships between failure mechanism of CFRP delamination and AE characteristics as like amplitude and count.

  • The carbon fiber reinforced plastics(CFRP) have been widely used in aircraft and spacecraft structures as well as sports goods because it has high specific strength, high specific stiffness and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Machining of CFRP poses problems not frequently seen for metals due to the nonhomogeneity, anisotropy, and abrasive characteristics of CFRP. Delamination is a common problem faced while drilling holes in CFRP using conventional drilling. Therefore, AE characteristics related to drilling damage process of unidirectional and [0/90/]s crossply laminate composite was studied. Also drilling damage like the delamination was observed by video camera in real time monitoring technique. From the results, we basically found the relationships between the delamination from drilling and AE characteristics for CFRP composites.

유리판과 단일방향 탄소섬유강화 플라스틱판에서 점원에 의해 발생된 과도적 탄성파의 주파수 해석 (Spectral Analysis of Transient Elastic Waves Generated by Point Source in Glass and Unidirectional CFRP Plates)

  • 유리판과 단일방향(unidirectional) 탄소섬유 강화 복합재료(CFRP)판의 표면에서 연필심을 부러뜨려 발생된 과도적 탄성파를 음원으로부터 멀리 떨어진 서로 다른 위치에 둔 두개의 탐촉자로 검출하였다. 탐촉자에 검출된 과도적 신호의 스펙트럼 분석에 의해 판에서 pulse 형태로 발생된 신호는 Lamb파 분산관계를 따르며 전파하고, 유리판과 단일방향 CFRP판에서의 과도적 신호는 최저 대칭$(S_{0})$, 1차 대칭$(S_{1})$, 1차 비대칭$(A_{l})$ 모드의 최대 군속도 주변의 성분들로 형성되었다. 이러한 최대 군속도 주변 성분은 분산이 비교적 적기 때문에 과도적 신호의 초기부분은 크게 변화되지 않았으며, $A_{1}$ 모드 단절 (cut-off)주파수 이하 영역의 $S_{0}$ 모드가 가장 빠른 군속도로 전파되고 과도적 신호 형성에 크게 기여하는 모드이었다.

Rib CFRP 파이프의 강도에 관한 기초적 연구 (The Fundamental Study of Strength on the CFRP Pipe Reinforced Rib)

  • The carbon fiber reinforced plastics, one of unidirectional fiber-reinforced composite materials, are widely used in various field including space and aviation industries, sports and leisure industries and general structural members and parts as have high strength in comparison with the weight, elasticity coefficient, high fatigue strength and lower thermal transformation. This paper present analytical behavior of CFRP pipe reinforced rib under the external force. From the results, the maximum compressive stress occurs at the upper flange of CFRP pipe and tensile stress occurs middle flange of the CFRP pipe. The stress of rib CFRP pipe by increasing effective cross-sectional area was reduced by approximately 35%.

지속하중을 받는 탄소섬유판의 장기 거동 (Long-Term Behavior of CFRP Strips under Sustained Loads)

  • 본 연구에서는 외부프리스트레스 탄소섬유판에 의한 보강기술에서 긴장력을 포함하는 지속하중이 작용하였을 때의 장기거동을 평가하기 위한 실험연구를 수행하였다. 지속하중 도입을 위한 실험계획은 탄소섬유판에 직접 인장력을 도입하는 직접 지속하중 방식과 휨 실험체를 통한 휨 지속하중으로 구분하여 실시하였다. 직접 지속하중에 의한 실험은 탄소섬유판의 종류별로 약 700일에 걸쳐 실시하여 탄소섬유판의 장기 크리프/릴렉세이션 등의 변형을 주로 평가하였으며, 휨 지속하중 실험에서는 탄소섬유판의 정착시 정착장치에서의 슬립량을 주로 평가하기 위해 약 90일 간으로 수행되었다. 일방향 탄소섬유판에 대한 2년간의 지속하중 실험 결과에 의하면, 탄소섬유판의 크리프나 릴렉세이션과 같은 재료자체의 변형 및 정착장치에서의 슬립에 기인한 응력손실은 적은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 강판매입형 탄소섬유판은 강판의 항복변형률을 초과하여 도입된 긴장력으로 인하여 재료 자체의 변형에 의한 자체 응력손실이 발생되었으므로 이에 대한 보완이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 아울러, 탄소섬유판의 정착과정에 발생되는 긴장력의 즉시 손실량은 응력도입 초기의 약 10% 정도이므로 프리스트레스의 도입시에는 이를 고려하여 긴장력을 결정할 필요성이 있을 것으로 판단된다.
