  • A multiple criteria model for the facility layout problem considers both of the quantitative, the cost of the work flow, and qualitative, the closeness rating score, aspect. Rosenblatt, Fortenberry & Cox and Urban have developed multiple criteria models that consider both of the quantitative and qualitative aspect. Fortenberry & Cox's multiplicity model penalizes facilities with undesirable closeness rating and high work flows more than those undesirable closeness rating and low work flow between them to contribute to the objective function regardless of the closeness rating between these facilities. In this paper, it is intended to develops a improved multiple-criteria facility layout model considering the function for maintaning the distance between facilities.

  • The above results indicate that vegetable crop production using vinyl houses continously increases. However, technical support and facility improvement are still insufficent to establish a full production system. In order to improve the cultural environment in facilities for better vegetable culture, several facters should be considered. 1. Facility design and arrangement should be made to improve micro-environments for crop growth and development because direction of facility and covering materials can affect the amount of light trasmitted into vinyl houses. 2. Cultivation of several leading varieties in each crop may not provide stable production and profit especially under undesirable environmental conditions. Thus, it is required to grow not only leading varieties but also other cultivars to decrease the economic losses. 3. Crops should be carefully managed when planted in early season not to experience low temperatures which induce growth retards. Early season cultivation requires proper selection of cultivars which are resistant to low temperture. 4. Active control of micro-environment in facilities should be made via improving the ventilation and irrigation systems.

  • DUPIC (Direct Use of spent PWR fuel In CANDU) fuel cycle technology is being developed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). All the DUPIC fuel fabrication processes are remotely conducted in the completely shielded M6 hot-cell located in the Irradiated Material Examination Facility (IMEF) at KAERI. Undesirable products such as spent nuclear fuel powder debris and contaminated wastes are inevitably created during the DUPIC nuclear fuel fabrication processes.(omitted)

  • The atmosphere of foodservice facility is considered to be the total environment to which customers are exposed. Atmosphere is sometimes described as everything that makes an impression on people. On the other hand, mood is best described as the response of an individual to the various components that make up the atmosphere. Most people experience some type of reaction to the atmosphere that may be desirable or undesirable. If the individual response to the foofservice facility is favorable, the atmosphere has served to put that person into a good mood. In the highly competitive commercial restaurant field, the planning of the atmosphere for new facilities is going to be more important. The coming generation of potential customers is growing up in an environment that associates dining out with more than just good food. This study is characterized by the right atmosphere offerings. Thus, this study discusses the physical components affecting perception of atmosphere. Many of these components will be discussed in detail to show their relationship to the design of dining areas. This study identified the many physical components of atmosphere that can be manipulated and arrive at a combination that will give the desired sensations. With these backgrounds as a guide, this study presented alternatives which should not only provide atmosphere but should reach a satisfactory level of creating atmosphere from a practical standpoint. these is to maximise the perceptual effect, train the employees, and be reflected and be reflected the advertising and public relations.

  • Acoustic coupled combustion instability, which is one of the most undesirable phenomena in the development of liquid propellant rocket engine, can cause serious damage to a rocket itself, and must be avoided by all means. Unfortunately, KSR-III rocket went through combustion instability during engine start at the propulsion test article No.2. To resolve the problem, time sequence (cyclogram) has been changed, and baffle system has been applied. In consequence of change, stable combustion was achieved.

환경기초시설의 입지가 지가에 미치는 영향 : 하수처리장을 사례로 (The Impact of a Basic Environmental Facility Siting on Land Prices : A Case of Sewage Disposal Plant)

  • 본 연구는 대구시 지산 하수처리장을 사례로 환경기초시설의 입지가 지가의 차이에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 지산 하수처리장으로부터 200m 단위로 400m까지 두 개의 구역을 각각 설정하고 총 822개의 개별공시지가 자료를 취득하였다. 지산 하수처리장 설립 전후의 지가의 차이를 비교하기 위하여 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 그 분석 결과, 각 구간의 지가가 하수처리장 설립 후 약간 상승하였고, 이러한 차이가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 하수처리장 설립 전에는 200m 이내의 평균 지가가 200-400m의 평균 지가 보다 낮았지만, 설립 후에는 양 구간에 평균 지가의 차이가 거의 없었다. 지산 하수처리장은 악취가 거의 나지 않고 하수의 처리 용량이 적으며 그 주변지역은 대부분 상업시설이나 주거시설로 이용되고 있어서 기존의 연구와 달리 하수처리장의 입지가 주변 지가의 하락에 거의 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 환경기초 시설의 입지로 인해 갈등하는 정부와 지역 주민들에게 새로운 근거자료로 제시될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Efficient simultaneous reduction conditions for $NO_x$ and $NH_3$-slip was investigated in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process with load variation by applying dual catalysts (SCR catalyst, $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst) system. $N_2O$ formation characteristics were analyzed to look into possible undesirable reaction pathways. In the experiments of catalyst characteristics, various operational variables were tested for the combined catalytic system, such as $NH_3/NO_x$ ratio, temperature, oxygen concentration and $H_2O$. The reaction characteristics of $NO_x$, $NH_3$ and $N_2O$ were analyzed and optimal conditions could be evaluated for the combustion facility with varied load. In terms of $NO_x/NH_3$ simultaneous reduction and $N_2O$ formation suppression, optimal condition was considered NSR 1.2 and temperature $300^{\circ}C$. At this operational condition, $NO_x$ conversion was 98%, $NH_3$ reduction efficiency was 95%, generated $N_2O$ concentration 9.5 ppm with inlet $NO_x$ concentration of 100 ppm. In $NH_3-SCR$ process with $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst, $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ can be considered to be reduced simultaneously at limited conditions. The results of this study may be utilized as basic data at facilities requiring simultaneous $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ reduction for facilities with load variation.

  • In practice, the property of nonlinearity is contained in all physical systems. In other word, all physical systems are nonlinear to some degree. Therefore it is important that we acquires a facility for analyzing feedback control systems with varying degrees of nonlinearity. To operate the system linearly over wide range of variation of signal amplitude and frequency, the system requires components of an extremely high quality. Such a system would probably be impractical in the view points of cost, space and weight. In this context of view, it is worth noting that the nonlinearities may be intentionally introduced into a system in order to compensate for the effects of other undesirable nonlinearities or to obtain better performance than what could be achieved using linear element only. A simple example of an intentional nonlinearity is the use of a nonlinear damped system to optimize response in accordance with the magnitude of error. In this paper, an on-off type nonlinear controller is introduced and the applicability and validity of a simple on-off controller are presented by the experimental result.

  • 일반적으로 초음속 유동 실험 장치에는 축대칭형 노즐이나 이차원 대칭형 노즐이 사용되고 있다. 하지만, 이차원 비대칭형 초음속 노즐은 상대적으로 가공비용이 저렴하며 노즐의 결합부에서 생기는 불필요한 충격파 생성을 줄일 수 있는 이점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 초음속 혼합기의 연소 실험을 위해 마하수 2의 비대칭 초음속 노즐을 설계하였다. 특성곡선해법을 이용하여 설계된 노즐에 대하여 수치해석을 수행하여 경계층보정을 하였으며 최종적으로 가공된 노즐에 대하여 마하파를 가시화 하는 실험을 통하여 노즐의 성능을 검증하였다. 이를 통하여 2차원 비대칭형 초음속 노즐의 설계와 검증 방법을 제시하였다.
