  • In this article, the underwater radiated noise of the submerged cylindrical shell model is investigated using hull transfer functions which were defined in accordance with structureborne and airborne noise propagation paths. This method is very useful tool as the prediction of radiated noise from submerged structures in design stage. This approach is verified by experimental model and its measurement results.

  • This paper presents the system which can be predicted 3-D underwater radiated noise pattern using submarine hull velocity and can be analyzed the counter detected performance for threats in real time. To verify the developed system the tests were done in a water tank for structure like a submarine. The far field radiated noise pattern predicted using the developed system is compared with the result calculated using the near field measurement system, these results have shown good agreement.

  • Underwater acoustic noise measurement is an essential element for vulnerability assessment of modern naval platforms. But during the last few decades environmental conditions have drastically changed due to the gradually increasing sea ambient noise level and decreasing submarine radiated noise level. A real-time underwater acoustic measurement system with vertical line array is designed for the quiet submarine radiated noise assessment in challenging environment. This system has a constant directivity index in measurement frequency range and accurate tracking capability for the transmission loss compensation and navigation aids inside the submarine. This system has been validated at sea and used several times for the submarine noise measurement.

선박 추진시스템 유동 소음원 상대적 기여도 분석 (Investigation on relative contribution of flow noise sources of ship propulsion system)

  • 본 논문에서는 KVLCC2 선체 축소모형에 설치된 추진시스템의 세부 구성품별 유동 소음원을 분석하였으며, 각각의 소음원이 수중방사소음에 미치는 영향에 대해 정량적으로 분석하였다. 수치 해석 영역은 실험 결과와의 비교를 위하여 선박해양플랜트연구소 대형 캐비테이션 터널의 시험부와 동일하게 설정하였다. 먼저 유동장내 소음원을 정확하게 모사하기 위하여 고정밀 해석기법인 비압축성 다상 Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation 방법을 적용하였고, 유동해석 결과를 기반으로 Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings 적분방정식을 사용하여 수중방사소음을 예측하였으며, 터널 실험결과와의 비교를 통해 해석절차의 유효성을 확인하였다. 추진시스템의 유동 소음원별 영향을 정량적으로 비교하기 위하여 추진기 날개 끝-와류 공동, 날개 표면 그리고 방향타 표면을 소음원 영역으로 선정하였으며, 음압과 파워 스펙트럼 밀도, 음향 파워를 비교하였다. 공동에 의한 홀극 소음원의 기여도가 추진기 날개 및 방향타에 의한 쌍극 소음원에 비해 수중방사소음에 크게 기여하였으며, 추진기 후류의 영향으로 방향타에 의한 기여도가 추진기 보다 더 크게 발생함을 확인하였다.

수중발파 현장에서의 진동추정식에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Ground Vibration Equations by Underwater Blasting at Construction Site)

  • In this study, quantitative ground vibration values and damping coefficient produced by underwater blasting were measured and analyzed. Also, hydrospace noise in aquafarm and noise in atmosphere as well as ground vibrations were measured, and maximum values of these results were 86,8 dB(A), 147,8dB(A), 0.244 cm/s, respectively, With these results, vibration influence about snakehead (channa argus) and structures were examined. the damage of those was proved that is not. Equations of vibration ($V_{50%}=1.507SD^{-0.536},\;V_{95%}=2,171SD^{-0.536}$) and hydrospace noise ($SL=293.2SD^{-0.164}$) were presented from quantitative experiment results. respectively. The results of the study may be applied for the evaluation of the influence on aquafarm as a basic data before having main underwater blasting at construction sites.

MFC 작동기를 이용한 수중 Hull 구조물의 능동 진동 제어 (Active Vibration Control of Smart Hull Structure in Underwater Using Micro-Fiber Composite Actuators)

  • Structural vibration and noise are hot issues in underwater vehicles such as submarines for their survivability. Therefore, active vibration and noise control of submarine, which can be modeled as hull structure, have been conducted by the use of piezoelectric materials. Traditional piezoelectric materials are too brittle and not suitable to curved geometry such as hull structures. Therefore, advanced anisotropic piezoceramic actuator named as Macro-Fiber Composite (MFC), which can provide great flexibility, large induced strain and directional actuating force is adopted for this research. In this study, dynamic model of the smart hull structure is established and active vibration control performance of the smart hull structure is evaluated using optimally placed MFC. Actuating performance of MFC is evaluated by finite element analysis and dynamic modeling of the smart hull structure is derived by finite element method considering underwater condition. In order to suppress the vibration of hull structure, Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian (LQG) algorithm is adopted. After then active vibration control performance of the proposed smart hull structure is evaluated with computer simulation and experimental investigation in underwater. Structural vibration of the hull structure is decreased effectively by applying proper control voltages to the MFC actuators.

수중음향 채널에서의 협력통신에 대한 연구 (Study on Cooperative Communication for Underwater Acoustic Channels)

  • 본 논문에서는 수중음향 채널에서의 협력통신 방식에 대한 성능을 분석한다. 협력전송 프로토콜과 동일비율 결합(Equal Ratio Combining:ERC) 방법, 고정비율결합(Fixed Ratio Combining:FRC) 방법, 최대비 결합(Maximum Ratio Combining:MRC), SNRC( Signal to Noise Ratio Combining), ESNRC (Enhanced Signal to Noise Combining) 방법에 대해서 수중음향 채널에서의 성능을 분석함으로 분석 결과를 통해서 적절한 협력통신 기술을 선택할 수 있다. 이 수중음향 채널에 대한 협력통신의 성능 분석은 컴퓨터 모의실험으로 수행된다.

  • 수중 이동체의 토널 소음 분석을 위하여 수신 배열 시스템이 적용되고 있지만 설치와 운용에 어려움이 있으며, 많은 비용이 필요하다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 하나의 수신기를 이용하여 가상 배열을 합성한 후 수중 이동체의 토널 소음을 측정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 수중 음원의 이동으로 인하여 발생하는 도플러 주파수와 시간 지연을 보정하고, 초점 빔 형성 기법을 적용하였다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 방법의 성능을 분석하였다.

하이브리드 음전달 모델을 이용한 ISO 및 선급별 수중방사소음 전달 특성 분석 (Analysis of Underwater Radiated Noise in Accordance with the ISO Standard and Class Notations Using the Hybrid Sound Propagation Model)

  • As considerable interests in noise emission from the ships have been increased, International Maritime Organization (IMO) standardized the Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) measurement process of commercial ships in deep seas by enacting the related ISO standard ISO 17208-1 and classification societies responded with the enactment or revision of corresponding notations. According to this trend, a new hybrid underwater sound propagation model based on underwater sound propagation theories was developed and its accuracy on analysis was verified through the result comparison with the results of other generally used models. Using the verified model, each URN propagation characteristics adjusted by the correction methods proposed in the ISO standard and class notations were analyzed and compared in two assumed URN measurement cases. The results showed that the effects of transmission loss corrections in the circumstances with less bottom reflections generally similar but they had rather large differences in the model analysis results with bottom-reflection-dominant conditions. It was concluded that the deep consideration of effective bottom-reflection-correction method should be made in future revisions of ISO standard and class notations.
