Effects of Simulation Learning Using SBAR on Clinical Judgment and Communication Skills in Undergraduate Nursing Students

  • This study aimed to determine the effects of simulation learning program using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) techniques on undergraduate nursing students' clinical judgment and communication skills. A quasi-experimental research design (one-group pretest-posttest design) was used in this study. The participants included 88 students from a nursing college. There were statistically significant differences in clinical judgment, communication clarity, and communication confidence between pre-simulation learning using SBAR and post (t=10.32, p<.0001; t=6.05, p=<.0001; t=7.42, p=<.0001). The simulation learning program using SBAR was found to improve nursing students' clinical judgment as well as clarity and confidence in interprofessional communication.

간호대학생을 위한 간호정보활용역량 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과 검증 (Development and effects of a nursing information literacy competency education program for undergraduate nursing students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and test the effects of a nursing information literacy competency education program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects consisted of 42 sophomore undergraduate nursing students who had completed a fundamental nursing course (experimental group: n=21, control group n=21). The nursing information literacy competency education program consisted of 8 steps in 8 sessions, taught over 4 weeks, which was 20 hours in total. Data were collected between January 23 and March 14, 2019 and were analyzed using Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, paired t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: Significant differences were shown between the experimental and control groups regarding nursing information literacy competency (F=91.74, p<.001), problem-solving ability (F=52.43, p<.001), self-directed learning ability (F=36.61, p<.001), and evidence-based practice competency (F=59.66, p<.001). Conclusion: The nursing information literacy competency education program was effective in improving the nursing information literacy competency, problem-solving ability, self-directed learning ability, and evidence-based practice competency of nursing students. Hence, we recommend the nursing information literacy education program will be included as an independent course in the nursing curriculum for undergraduate nursing students to promote a needed proficiency in nursing information literacy competency.

자가발반사요법이 여대생의 스트레스, 피로, 피부온도 및 면역반응에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Self-Foot Reflexology on Stress, Fatigue, Skin Temperature and Immune Response in Female Undergraduate Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of self-foot reflexology on stress (perceived stress, urine cortisol level, and serum cortisol level), fatigue, skin temperature and immune response in female undergraduate students. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-post test design. Participants were 60 university students: 30 in the experiment group and 30 in the control group. The period of this study was from April to June 2010. The program was performed for 1 hr a session, three times a week for 6 weeks. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. Results: The results showed that self-foot reflexology was effective in reducing perceived stress and fatigue, and raised skin temperature in female undergraduate students. But cortisol levels and immune response were not statistically significant different. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that self-foot reflexology is an effective nursing intervention in reducing perceived stress and fatigue and, in improving skin temperature. Therefore, it is recommended that this be used in clinical practice as an effective nursing intervention for in female undergraduate students.

국내 뷰티 관련 고등교육 프로그램의 현황 및 교과과정 조사 연구 (Analysis of the Current State and the Curriculum of Beauty Related Higher Education Programs in Korea)

  • This research investigates the current state of beauty related curriculums and departments of undergraduate and graduate programs in Korea. The results also compared beauty related programs at selected overseas universities. A comprehensive list of 4-year universities with beauty related undergraduate and/or graduate programs were surveyed using the KCUE University Entrance Information (http://www.adiga.kr) site provided by the Korean Council for University Education. Information on the name of the department, curriculum, and year of foundation were obtained from the websites of individual universities. There were 58 universities which have beauty related higher education programs; 43 undergraduate programs, 12 graduate programs, and 40 special graduate programs. The number of special graduate departments were 3.7 times larger than the graduate departments; in addition, 43.9% of the special graduate departments were located in the Seoul/Gyeonggi/Incheon area. The curriculums of beauty related 4-year undergraduate departments were focused on the 'Beauty care service' area (50.2%), whereas the curriculums of graduate departments were focused on the 'Cosmetic science' area (40.8%). In case of the special graduate programs, there was little difference between the 'Beauty care service' area (24.4%) and the 'Cosmetic science' area (27.7%). Beauty related programs of overseas universities were mostly focused on cosmetic science with some universities specialized in the marketing aspect.

문화역사적 활동이론을 통한 학부생 연구지원 프로그램 참여자의 과학연구 수행과정의 분석 (Analysis of the Scientific Research Process of a Participant in Undergraduate Research Program by Cultural Historical Activity Theory)

  • 이 연구에서는 학부생 연구지원 프로그램(Undergraduate Research Program: 이하 URP)에 참여한 물리교육과 3학년인 한 초심자(학생 A)의 연구과정을 질적으로 분석하였다. 자료는 참여관찰, 심층인터뷰, 문서분석을 통해 수집되었고, 분석을 위한 이론적 틀로서 문화역사적 활동이론이 사용되었다. 먼저, 초심자의 연구를 위한 활동체계가 어떻게 구성되었는지를 살펴보았다. 연구 초기에 멘토가 대략적인 연구목표와 목표달성을 위한 매개체를 초심자에게 제공하였다. 연구주체인 학생 A는 동료 두 명을 모아, 자신이 이끄는 수직적 관계로 연구팀을 구성하였다. 이러한 역할분담은 과제특정지식, 연차, 그리고 참여율이 높을수록 의사결정권이 크다는 암묵적 규칙에 근거한 것이다. 다음으로, 활동체계의 변화 과정을 살펴보면, 크게 두 가지 모순이 변화의 원천이 되었다. 먼저 연구 초기에 멘토의 교육철학과 멘티의 교육적 요구 간의 모순이 발생하였다. 학생 A는 멘토의 인적 네트워크를 이용하여 외부의 활동체계에서 필요한 지식을 얻는 방식으로 모순에 의한 갈등을 극복하였다. 이렇게 획득한 지식을 이용하여 활동체계의 매개물(실험도구과 이론)을 정교화하였다. 두 번째 모순은 수평적 역할분담을 요구하는 팀 구성원들과 기존 역할분담을 고수하는 학생 A 간에 발생하였다. 학생 A가 팀 구성원들의 의견을 받아들인 후, 활동체계의 노동 분담 방식은 협력적으로 변화하였다. 마지막으로, 학생 A의 변화를 살펴보면, 학생 A는 연구 경험을 통해 교사의 길을 포기하고 과학자가 되기로 결심하였다. 또 학계 내의인적 네트워크를 생성하고 확장하게 되었으며, 협업에 대한 부정적인 마음가짐이 긍정적으로 바뀌게 되었다. 연구 초심자의 연구과정에 대한 활동체계의 구성과 변화의 분석을 통하여 사사교육의 지도 방식과 지원체계에 대한 시사점을 얻을 수 있다.

LOCATIONS OF OUT-OF-PLANE EQUILIBRIUM POINTS IN THE ELLIPTIC RESTRICTED THREE-BODY PROBLEM UNDER RADIATION AND OBLATENESS EFFECTS

  • This study deals with the generalization of the Elliptic Restricted Three-Body Problem (ER3BP) by considering the effects of radiation and oblate spheroid primaries. This may illustrate a gas giant exoplanet orbiting its host star with eccentric orbit. In the three dimensional case, this generalization may possess two additional equilibrium points ($L_{6,7}$, out-of-plane). We determine the existence of $L_{6,7}$ in ER3BP under the effects of radiation (bigger primary) and oblateness (small primary). We analytically derive the locations of $L_{6,7}$ and assume initial approximations of (${\mu}-1$, ${\pm}\sqrt{3A_2}$), where ${\mu}$ and $A_2$ are the mass parameter and oblateness factor, respectively. The fixed locations are then determined. Our results show that the locations of $L_{6,7}$ are periodic and affected by $A_2$ and the radiation factor ($q_1$).

  • This work considers the elliptic restricted three-body problem under effects of radiation of the bigger primary, and an oblate spheroid for the smaller primary to mimic an exoplanetary system with a gas giant planet. Under the influences of both effects we look for the existence of the triangular equilibrium points and the influences of the radiation and oblateness on the locations and motion of the points. We set the system in a normalized rotating coordinate system and derive equations of motion for the third infinitesimal object. Our study shows that the effects modify the equilateral/isosceles triangle shape with respect to the primaries. The triangular points also have non-planar motion with period depending on the value of the planet oblateness.

공학전공 학생들의 융합역량 증진을 위한 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effect of Education Program for Enhancing Convergence Competence of Undergraduate Engineering Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an educational program to enhance convergence competence of undergraduate engineering students and analyze its educational effects. Prior to the development of the convergence education program for engineering students, 13 experts in engineering education field surveyed the needs of the convergence education program and 829 students from four engineering colleges in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong area and Honam area were assessed for the level of convergence competency. The educational program was developed based on the needs analysis and the program consisted of four major themes: convergence lecture, convergence competence, convergence practice, and convergence vision. The validity of the program was confirmed through the two expert validation tests. A total of 40 students participated in the selection of 10 students from each of the four universities. As a result of pre-post comparison of students' convergence competencies, the average of all competencies increased, and it was found that there were statistically significant differences in convergence mindset, differentiation mind, commitment, communication, and social value competence. Implications for the improvement of education programs and convergence education were suggested.

대학생을 위한 웹기반 정보활용교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과분석 (Development of Web-Based Information Literacy Program for Undergraduate Students and Its Effect Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 웹기반 정보활용교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 그 활용효과를 분석하여 향후 정보활용교육을 웹기반으로 구축함에 있어 바람직한 사례를 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적 하에 대학생들의 웹기반 정보활용교육에 관한 요구를 분석하고, 프로그램을 설계하고 개발하였으며, 면대면 교육과 웹기반 교육 두 가지의 프로그램을 실험을 통하여 활용 효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 두 가지 학습형태는 교육 효과 및 학습자 만족도의 면에서 동등한 수준으로 높게 측정되었다.

간호대학생의 메타인지 영향요인분석 (Factors related to the undergraduate nursing students' metacognition)

  • 메타인지는 학습자가 문제 해결을 위해 목표 및 계획을 수립하고 평가해 나가는 인지의 결과물로써 간호사의 임상적 역량 중에 핵심역량이다. 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 메타인지에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하고자 함이다. 2017년 8월 15일부터 10월 19일까지 서울과 경기도에 위치한 간호대학의 205명 대학생에게 메타인지, 자기주도 학습능력, 그릿, 학습환경, 학습유형에 대해 설문조사를 시행하였고 수집된 자료는 SPSS/Win 22.0 program를 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과, 메타인지는 자기주도 학습능력, 그릿 및 학습환경과 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며 자기주도 학습능력과 그릿은 간호대학생의 메타인지에 유의한 영향요인으로 나타났다. 간호대학생의 자기주도 학습능력과 그릿을 높여 문제해결을 위한 목표설정에 중요한 영향을 미치는 메타인지 수준을 높일 수 있는 교육과정 개발이 필요하다.
