Robust design of liquid column vibration absorber in seismic vibration mitigation considering random system parameter

  • The optimum design of liquid column dampers in seismic vibration control considering system parameter uncertainty is usually performed by minimizing the unconditional response of a structure without any consideration to the variation of damper performance due to uncertainty. However, the system so designed may be sensitive to the variations of input system parameters due to uncertainty. The present study is concerned with robust design optimization (RDO) of liquid column vibration absorber (LCVA) considering random system parameters characterizing the primary structure and ground motion model. The RDO is obtained by minimizing the weighted sum of the mean value of the root mean square displacement of the primary structure as well as its standard deviation. A numerical study elucidates the importance of the RDO procedure for design of LCVA system by comparing the RDO results with the results obtained by the conventional stochastic structural optimization procedure and the unconditional response based optimization.

  • 육상 섭취 경로에 따른 내부 피폭선량 계산 모델 KFOOD의 파라메터 불착실성 및 민감도를 몬테칼로법을 사용하여 수치 분석하였다. 쌀을 통한 섭취 경로의 경우 KFOOD 코드에 의한 예측치는 아주 보수적인 값을 나타내었다 모델에서 민감도가 큰 입력변수는 방사능의 침적속도와 식물전이제수였다.

  • This paper addresses two types of uncertainty: stochastic uncertainty and subjective uncertainty in probabilistic accident consequence assessments. The off-site consequence assessment code OSCAAR has been applied to uncertainty and sensitivity analyses on the individual risks of early fatality and latent cancer fatality in the population outside the plant boundary due to a severe accident. A new stratified meteorological sampling scheme was successfully implemented into the trajectory model for atmospheric dispersion and the statistical variability of the probability distributions of the consequence was examined. A total of 65 uncertain input parameters was considered and 128 runs of OSCAAR with 144 meteorological sequences were performed in the parameter uncertainty analysis. The study provided the range of uncertainty for the expected values of individual risks of early and latent cancer fatality close to the site. In the sensitivity analyses, the correlation/regression measures were useful for identifying those input parameters whose uncertainty makes an important contribution to the overall uncertainty for the consequence. This could provide valuable insights into areas for further research aiming at reducing the uncertainties.

선형혼합모형을 활용한 표준강수지수 계산 인자들의 불확실성에 대한 기여도 평가 (Evaluating the contribution of calculation components to the uncertainty of standardized precipitation index using a linear mixed model)

  • 가뭄은 강수량, 토양수분 그리고 유출량 등 여러 가지 요인으로부터 영향을 받으며, 가뭄의 상황 판단을 위하여 다양한 가뭄지수가 널리 활용되고 있다. 가뭄지수의 산정에 활용되는 수문기상학적 자료와 가뭄지수 산정공식에 따라서 지수값은 달라지며, 가뭄 상황에 대한 판단에도 차이가 발생 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내외에서 널리 활용되는 표준강수지수(SPI)의 산정과정에서 결정해야 하는 강수량의 자료길이, 누적기간, 확률분포 모형, 매개변수 추정기법 등을 불확실성 영향 요인으로 가정하고, 각각의 조합에 대한 불확실성을 평균제곱근오차와 선형혼합모형(LMM)을 활용하여 평가하였다. 평균제곱오차는 SPI 산정과정에 발생되는 전반적인 오차를 추정하며, LMM은 영향 요인들의 상대적인 불확설성을 평가하는데 활용되었다. 그 결과, SPI 산정에 활용된 자료의 기간과 누적기간이 길어질수록 평균제곱오차가 감소하였다. LMM을 통하여 불확실성 영향요인들의 기여도를 비교한 결과, SPI의 불확실성에는 자료기간의 영향이 가장 크게 나타났다. 또한, 자료기간이 증가하면, 자료기간에 의한 불확실성은 감소하고 누적기간과 매개변수 추정기법에 의한 불확실성이 상대적으로 증가하였다. 본 연구 결과, SPI 산정과정에서 발생되는 불확실성을 줄이기 위해서는 장기간의 자료 확보가 우선이며, 자료의 특성을 적절히 반영하는 확률분포모형과 매개변수 추정기법이 적용되어야 한다.

슬라이딩 모드를 이용한 DC 모터 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on DC Motor Control Using Sliding Mode Control)

  • DC motor has been widely used in industrial applications, because the performance is excellent on the speed and position system. However, when a system has parameter uncertainty, it is very difficult to guarantee its performance. Sliding mode control is robust for parameter uncertainty. However conventional sliding mode control can not have the properties of PID controller because its sliding surface has lower order dynamics than the original system. In this paper the sliding surface design method is proposed by using virtual state for DC motor speed control. Its design is based on the augmented system whose dynamics have one higher order than that of the original system. As a result, in spite of the parameter uncertainty, the proposed sliding surface can have the same dynamic of nominal system controlled by PID controller. And the reaching phase is removed by setting an initial state which makes the initial sliding surface equal to zero.

SWAT 모형을 이용한 대유역 강우-유출해석: 메콩강 유역을 중심으로 (Large Scale Rainfall-runoff Analysis Using SWAT Model: Case Study: Mekong River Basin)

  • This study implemented the rainfall-runoff analysis of the Mekong River basin using the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool). The runoff analysis was simulated for 2000~2007, and 11 parameters were calibrated using the SUFI-2 (Sequential Uncertainty Fitting-version 2) algorithm of SWAT-CUP (Calibration and Uncertainty Program). As a result of analyzing optimal parameters and sensitivity analysis for 6 cases, the parameter ALPHA_BF was found to be the most sensitive. The reproducibility of the rainfall-runoff results decreased with increasing number of stations used for parameter calibration. The rainfall-runoff simulation results of Case 6 showed that the RMSE of Nong Khai and Kratie stations were 0.97 and 0.9, respectively, and the runoff patterns were relatively accurately simulated. The runoff patterns of Mukdahan and Khong Chaim stations were underestimated during the flood season from 2004 to 2005 but it was acceptable in terms of the overall runoff pattern. These results suggest that the combination of SWAT and SWAT-CUP models is applicable to very large watersheds such as the Mekong for rainfall-runoff simulation, but further studies are needed to reduce the range of modeling uncertainty.

  • This paper presents an integrated sliding mode adaptive control scheme for general nonlinear uncertain systems, where structured uncertainty is assumed can be linearly parameterized and unstructured uncertainty is assumed be bounded by unknown constant A certain estimation scheme for this unknown constant is introduced to attenuate the unstructured uncertainty. Presented control scheme is shown to be stable and numerical expressions of bounds of all error signals are given, from which we can acquire some useful information about practical trade-off between tracking performance and parameter estimation property.

  • 순간수위변화 및 양수 시험은 현장에서 대수층의 수리상수 추정을 위해 널리 사용되는 수리시험이다. 그런데 이런 수리시험을 수행하고 그 결과를 해석함에 있어서 다양한 오차 및 불확실성 요인이 있음에도 불구하고 이에 대한 심각한 고려가 많지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 양수 및 순간수위 변화시험을 다수의 동일 관정에서 반복 수행하고 그 결과를 다각적으로 검토함으로써 두 수리시험에 개입될 수 있는 오차 및 불확실성 요인을 분석하였다.

파라미터 불확실성을 고려한 건물의 견실 진동 제어 (Robust Vibration Control for a Building with Parameter Uncertainty)

  • In this paper, we design a vibration control system that includes a 3-D.O.F. mass-spring-damper structure for the analytical model of a building that is excited at the base of this structure by an external dynamic force, and one Active Mass Damper(AMD) on the top of this structure to generate control forces fro attenuation of the structural response. Two robust controllers based on $\mu$-synthesis and H$\infty$ optimal control are designed for the structural system to show that the performance of a control system can be degraded by some parameter uncertainties such as mass, stiffness coefficients, and/or damping coefficients. The performance of the two controllers are compared in terms of nominal performance, robust stability and robust performance by simulations.

Robust Predictive Control of Uncertain Nonlinear System With Constrained Input

  • In this paper, a linear matrix inequality(LMI)-based robust control method, which combines model predictive control(MPC) with the feedback linearization(FL), is presented for constrained nonlinear systems with parameter uncertainty. The design procedures consist of the following 3 steps: Polytopic description of nonlinear system with a parameter uncertainty via FL, Mapping of actual input constraint by FL into constraint on new input of linearized system, Optimization of the constrained MPC problem based on LMI. To verify the performance and usefulness of the control method proposed in this paper, some simulations with application to a flexible single link manipulator are performed.
