Recent paradigm in technology shifts from object-based technology to environment-based technology. Issue here is interaction among humans and the world around humans. The world we consider includes natural and artificial "space." Interactive technology, which explore holistic interactions based on "Mom (embodiment)," suggests a good starting point for exploring this issue. Soft engineering, "Mom," holistic interactions, tangible space, ubiquitous computing, science of emotion, and interactive media are key concepts in interactive technology. Interactive tangible media "iT_Media" is proposed to explore and synthesize these ideas. Interactive technology initiative (ITI) is an interdisciplinary research group to search for the proper technology and the proper way of implementing technology: "interactive technology" or "soft engineering." Some experimental activities conducted by ITI are presented in this paper.tal activities conducted by ITI are presented in this paper.

Generating fractal images by graphing calculators such as TI_92 combines several important features, which convey the excitement of a living, changing mathematics appropriate to secondary or post-secondary students. The topic of fractal geometry can be illustrated using natural objects such as snowflakes, leaves and ferns. These complex and natural forms are often striking fantastic and beautiful. The examples highlight the fact that complex, natural behaviors can result from simple mathematical rules such as those embodied in iterated function systems(IFS). The visual splendor beauty of fractals, in concert with their ubiquity in nature, revels the intellectual beauty of nonlinear mathematics in a compelling way. The window is now open for students to experience and explore some of the wonder of fractal geometry.

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors of customer satisfaction as the critical success factors of mobile banking. Based on previous exploratory work and a review of the literature of customer satisfaction, nine key factors are identified: perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, perceived ubiquity, perceived safety, perceived tangibles, perceived reliability, perceived responsiveness, perceived assurance, and perceived empathy. A conceptual model is developed and hypotheses are empirically examined using multiple regression analysis. The result of this research are summarized as follows: First, perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, perceived safety, and perceived empathy have significant influence on customer satisfaction. Second, customer satisfaction has significant influence on reuse intention and word-of-mouth intention.

Southern blot analysis revealed a ubiquitous distribution and high copy number of Ty3-gypsy-like elements in the genome of Hibiscus syriacus. Comparative phylogenetic analysis of the large subunit of Rubisco and the integrase region of Ty3-gypsy elements in various plant species indicated that the retrotransposon-like sequences have different evolutionary histories and their own unique polymorphism in the H. syriacus population. Sequence-tagged site-restriction fragment length polymorphisms (STS-RFLP) analysis also indicated great variability in the numbers and sequences of Ty3-gypsy-like elements within H. syriacus varieties. Ty3-gypsy-like elements may still be active within H. syriacus, since Northern analysis of wounded leaves of H. syriacus variety Saehan with a probe for the integrase domain gave strong hybridization signals. The sequence heterogeneity and ubiquity of the Ty3-gypsy-like elements in H. syriacus genomes could provide reliable DNA markers for line identification as well for the analysis of genetic diversity in H. syriacus.

유비쿼터스 로봇은 최근에 소개된 새로운 형태의 네트워크 기반 로봇으로서 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경하에서 사용자에게 끊임없고 자연스러운 상황 기반의 서비스를 제공하는 소프트웨어 및 하드웨어 로봇을 통칭하는 말이다. 따라서 이와 같은 유비쿼터스 로봇 시스템은 사용자에게 서비스 제공을 위한 자율성(Autonomy), 편재성(Ubiquity), 상황 인지성(Context-awareness) 및 연속성(Seamlessness)의 요구사항을 만족해야 하며, 이를 위해 센서 네트워크, 정보가전 기기, 인터넷 점보 컨텐츠 등와 같은 다양한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 자원을 기반으로 자율적인 서비스 구성 및 수행을 할 수 있는 기능을 제공해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 지능형 서비스 에이전트를 위한 차세대 웹 기술인 시엔틱 웹 서비스를 기반으로 유비쿼터스 로봇 시스템의 프레임워크를 설계하고 Evolution Robotics사의 ERSP 3.0 로봇 플랫폼을 기반으로 프로토타입 시스템을 구현한다.

In recent years, motivated by the emergence of ubiquitous computing technologies, a new class of networked robots, ubiquitous robots, has been introduced. The Ubiquitous Robotic Companion (URC) is our conceptual vision of ubiquitous service robots that provide users with the services they need, anytime and anywhere in ubiquitous computing environments. To realize the vision of URC, one of the essential requirements for robotic systems is to support ubiquity of services: that is, a robot service must be always available even though there are changes in the service environments. Specifically robotic systems need to be automatically interoperable with sensors and devices in current service environments, rather than statically preprogrammed for them. In this paper, the design and implementation of a semantic-based ubiquitous robotic space (SemanticURS) is presented. SemanticURS enables automated integration of networked robots into ubiquitous computing environments exploiting Semantic Web Services and AI-based planning technologies.

새 천년이 시작하면서 자본주의의 새로운 기업 모델로 e-Biz가 각광받았다. 하지만 곧바로 사양되었으며, 이 시점에서 새로운 대안으로 떠오른 것이 바로 모바일 인터넷 비즈니스였다. M-Biz는 편재성(Ubiquity), 접근성(Reachability), 보안성(Security), 위치확인(Localiz ation), 즉시 연결성(Instant Connectivity), 개인화(Personalization)의 모바일 인터넷 장점을 이용하여 뚜렷한 수익모델로 가능해졌기 때문이다. 이런 모바일 컨텐츠 서비스는 정보제공(Information), Entertainment, 상거래(Transaction), 단문메시지 (Communication) 등을 현재 제공하고 있으며, 이러한 기능들을 현재 개발되고 있는 홈 오토메이션 시스템과 결합하여 새로운 형태의 홈 오토메이션을 기반으로 하는 모바일 서비스 지원 기법을 본 논문에서는 논하였다.

The evaluation of ubiquitous computing service is the important work for preparing the commercialization of the ubiquitous business services in which ubiquitous intelligence (ubitelligence) is embedded. However, the methodology for evaluating ubiquitous computing services has not been developed enough. Even the study of making a distinction what is 'ubiquitous' or not is insufficient yet. Hence, this paper aims to propose an integrated methodology to assess the ubiquitous computing services. A multi-layered approach is adopted to assess not only technical but also behavioral service levels.

As facing the rapid advance of information technologies, the postal service is required to have capabilities of real-time logistics characterized by collaboration, ubiquity and intelligence which are necessary to the organizational management. In this study we discuss the design of the next generation information system based on real-time enterprise strategy to achieve real-time integrity and upgrade of postal information system. After briefly addressing the issues on developing information system and current situation, we provide the design direction and the framework of the to-be system. We develop detailed specification of each subsystem and provide an operational scenario. We believe when this framework is put into use, it can contribute to competitive performance by giving the integrity and consistency in implementing information systems of the Korea Postal Service.

In developing the ubiquitous computing technology based services (ubiquitous services), evaluating how much value of those services is created or added is very crucial. The efforts to evaluate the ubiquitous services have been progressed in two perspectives - technical perspective and behavioral perspective. Despite its importance, however, the methodologies which integrate both perspectives have been still very rare. Hence, this paper aims perspectives have been still very rare. Hence, this paper aims to propose an integrated ubiquitous service valuation methodology based on the multi-layered approach including technical and behavioral perspectives. To do so, we conducted a case study with currently existing location based service (LBS) such as navigation systems by conducting focus group interview (FGI) and field survey.
