  • U-learning stresses the ubiquitous networking environment where different sizes of U-devices, let alone the dominant PCs, comprise a background infrastructure to enhance knowledge and performance. This paper suggests a U-learning system that will provide an alternative for the hectic private lessons, particularly English training among grade-school students. Several points are suggested of the U-system to be a cost-effective alternative. Besides the corresponding advancement of U-networking, the production of a profitable business model harnessing the emerging technology is most urgent. The Government authorities should recognize the potential U-social system solutions, and take an initiative to develop them. The latest technology seems to throw a light to the upcoming social systems applied in various fields of social needs.

  • In this paper, I described a guide of developing contents to present the direction of developing contents for u-learning. After surveying a character of Ubiquitous computing and u-learning, I described a guide of developing contents which is composed 17 items in 5 fields. This guide is checked by experts and staffs to test a validity and reliability. As a result, It is proven having the validity and reliability. I expect it to guide the direction of developing contents for u-learning. Also, It will contribute to make effective contents which will not affected by technical development and can use continuously because of foreseeing the technical development of future.

  • Learners show lower cooperation and responsibility at e-Learning(Electronic Learning) than face-to-face learners in class. Accordingly the LMS(Learning Management System) focus on collaborative learning design in order to promote the learner's interaction. In this paper, the Experience Learning Support System with JXTA-based P2P(Peer-to-Peer) architecture is proposed for an effective collaborative learning and a blended learning. It intends learners to develop a self-leading learning ability and a creative problem-solving ability through experience learning object's sharing. The experimental results described that the proposed system was more effective in an enhancing learner's learning ability and a cooperative learning than existing system.

  • The environment of education has been undergoing dramatic developments in recent years with the development of information technology such as digital information transfer, storage and communication methods. Education and training technology is constantly evolving and growing. Because we continually meet the new and interesting advances in our world. The evolution in education and training at a distance can be characterized as a move from traditional learning to u-learning. This paper concerns with the application of u-based education methodology for people with disabilities targeting to empower them. Instead of the classic educational support such as extended time to take exams, a reader and/or scribe to assist with exams and note taking services. In this paper, we introduce the definition of inclusion and disabilities which does not been fully understood what they mean and then possible implementing materials which can empower the students with disabilities with accomplishments. We would like to point out that we concentrate on the aspects of instructional science particularly related with inclusive classes.

  • Ubiquitous learning environment needs various new model of e-learning as web based education system has been proposed. The demand for the customized courseware which is required from the learners is increased. the needs of the efficient and automated education agents in the web-based instruction are recognized. But many education systems that had been studied recently did not service fluently the courses which learners had been wanting and could not provide the way for the learners to study the learning weakness which is observed in the continuous feedback of the course. In this paper we propose a multi-agent system for course scheduling of learner-oriented using weakness analysis algorithm via personalized ubiquitous environment factors. First proposed system analyze learner's result of evaluation and calculates learning accomplishment. From this accomplishment the multi-agent schedules the suitable course for the learner. The learner achieves an active and complete learning from the repeated and suitable course.

  • In ubiquitous environment, the analysis for student's learning behaviour is essential to provide students with personalized education. SCORM(Sharable Contents Object Reference Model), IMS LD (Instructional Management System Learning Design) standards provide the support function of learning design such as checking the progress. However, in case of applying these standards contain many problem to add or modify the contents. In this paper, We implement the system that manages the learner behaviour by hooking the event of web browser. Through all of this, HTML-based content can be recycled without any additional works and the problems by applying the standard can be improved because the store and analysis of the learning result is possible. It also supports the ubiquitous learning environment because of keeping track of the learning result in case of network disconnected.

  • 최근 들어 유치원과 초등학교에 로봇을 이용한 교육적 활용 연구가 시도되고 있다. 유비퀴터스 로봇 활용이 교사와 아동의 흥미 유발에 있어 매우 효과가 높은 것으로 나타나, 향후 유비쿼터스 로봇이 u-Learning 의 또 다른 매체로서의 가능성이 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 수업에서 교사 보조 역할을 통한 유비퀴터스 로봇의 활용 가능성을 보기 위해, 초등 학생 6 학년의 기대 역할을 갖는 프로토 타입의 로봇과 컨텐츠를 개발하여 활용하는 실험을 실시하였다. 프로토 타입 로봇은 국어, 영어, 음악 교과를 대상으로 주기적으로 컨텐츠를 다운로드 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 아동의 얼굴과 이름을 저장하여 수업 운영 컨텐츠와 연동할 수 있다. 현장 실험을 통하여 아동이 유비쿼터스 로봇을 경험한 수업 시간의 횟수에 따라 로봇 외형과 수업 보조 서비스에 대한 선호도 차이를 알아봄으로써, 초등학교에서 유비퀴터스 로봇을 이용한 r-Learning에 있어서 일시적 신기효과가 아닌 지속적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 요인을 찾아보았다. 실험 결과, 지속적인 HRI 유지에 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 외형적 요인으로 로봇 얼굴과 로봇과 아동간 관계성을 지향하는 컨텐츠 개발이 필요함을 보였다.

  • Rapid advancement information and communication technologies has introduced various dimension of e-Learning environment such as u-learning(ubiquitous learning), m-learning(mobile learning) and t-learning(television learning). These technologies enabled learners to access learning contents through variety of devices with more flexibility and consistency. In order to implement learning through these multiple environments, basically it is necessary to acquire and process the platform information that contains properties and status of the web-accessing devices. In this study, we introduce the design and implementation of a Platform Analyzer Model which is essential for learning systems that support multi-platform environment. We also present a Interactive DTV-Centered multi-platform learning environment framework using PC, PDA or Mobile phone. Finally, we will discuss the possibility of the multi-platform learning environment with sample scenario and contents.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨링과 네트워킹 환경이 준비됨에 따라 교육 분야에서도 새로운 환경에 적합한 교육학습 시스템에 대한 준비가 필요하다. 특히 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 단순히 새로운 기술을 교육학습 분야에 적용하는 것이 아니라 사고방식과 대상을 바꾸는 패러다임의 전환이 필요하다. 분야에서는 유비쿼터스 환경을 단계적으로 적용하여야 한다. 기존의 e-learning에서는 지능시스템이 교육학습 분야에 적용될 수 있는 부분이 한정되어 있었다. 그러나 유비쿼터스 맞춤형 학습 시스템을 구축할 수 있는 기본 환경이 제공하기 위하여 유비퀴터스 환경의 하부 단위에서 증강현실(augmented reality) 기술, 지능형 학습 기술들을 도출하고 적용 방법을 제안한다.
