ε-Ga2O3 박막 성장 및 MSM UV photodetector의 전기광학적 특성 (Thin film growth of ε-Ga2O3 and photo-electric properties of MSM UV photodetectors)

  • 본 연구에서는 $Ga_2O_3$ 박막의 구조적 특성과 Ti/Au 전극을 증착하여 제작된 metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photodetector 소자의 광학적, 전기적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. 유기 금속 화학 증착법(metal organic chemical vapor deposition, MOCVD)을 이용해 서로 다른 온도에서 $Ga_2O_3$ 박막을 성장하였다. 성장온도에 따라 $Ga_2O_3$의 결정상이 ${\varepsilon}$-상에서 ${\beta}$-상으로 변화하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. X-선 회절 분석(X-ray diffraction, XRD) 결과로 ${\varepsilon}-Ga_2O_3$의 결정구조를 확인하였고, 주사 전자 현미경(scanning electron microscopy, SEM) 이미지로 결정구조의 형성 메커니즘에 대해 논의하였다. 음극선 발광(Cathode luminescence, CL) 측정으로 $Ga_2O_3$의 발광성 천이에 관여하는 에너지 준위의 형성 원인에 대해 논의하였다. 제작된 MSM photodetector 소자의 외부 광에 대한 전류-전압 특성과 시간 의존성 on/off 광 응답 특성을 통해 ${\varepsilon}-Ga_2O_3$로 제작한 photodetector는 가시광보다 266 nm UV 파장 영역에서 훨씬 뛰어난 광전류 특성을 보이는 것을 확인하였다.

Detection of AGN outflows in micro-arcsec scales

  • We report the preliminary results of our GMVA(Global mm VLBI Array) observation at the frequency of 86 GHz. Observation were made in the dual polarization mode (LCP and RCP), to produce the polarimetric maps with the maximum angular resolution which the array is capable of. We aim to link the source-integrated AGN polarization properties with the polarized spatial source structure, by mapping the polarized "fine structure" of the target AGN. We selected 2 targets, 0954+658 and 0716+714, which (1) have been observed multiple times by the PdBI polarimetric monitoring program; (2) have sufficient integrated fluxes ($S_{90GHz}$ > 1 Jy) ; (3) are close enough to resolve the source structure < 1 pc with given angular resolution ; and (4) are located at high northern declination for good UV coverages. As preliminary results, we present LL and RR polarized images of each target with the maximum angular resolution of ${\sim}60{\mu}as$. Extended structures, probably the jet outflows, are discovered in both sources.

  • This paper was studied about the aging judgment method by ultraviolet rays image to happen in electric power equipment using ultraviolet rays camera. We established the aging judgment method as follows; 20% within of risk factor of insulation state of electrical facility that ultraviolet rays image does not show is "good or recognition". 30$^{\sim}$50% within of risk factor is "check", 50$^{\sim}$60% within of risk factor is "inspection" and 60% above of risk factor is "replacement". This method will be utilized for the inspection about electrical facilities.

Photografting of PET Fabrics with Vinyl Pyrrolidone and Acryloyl Morpholine Monomers

  • PET fabrics were photografted under continuous UV irradiation with vinyl pyrrolidone (VP) and acryloylmorpholine(ACMO) as monomers and benzophenone as a hydrogen-abstractable photoinitiator. ACMO can be grafted onto the PET fabrics more efficiently than VP. The grafted PET surfaces were characterized by ATR, ESCA, SEM and zeta potential measurement. ATR and ESCA analysis indicated significant alterations on chemical structure and atomic composition on the surface of the grafted fabrics, where nitrogen content increased with increasing grafting yield. SEM images showed that the fabric surface was covered with the grafted polymers. The zeta potentials and the water wettability of the grafted PET increased with grafting. Also the photografted fabrics showed an increased dyeablity to reactive dyes and increased affinity to various iodine species which imparted anti-bacterial properties.

  • The functionlized dendrimer containing 48 azobenzene was synthesized. Many isolated featureless domains were explicitly observed even at the air-water interface. Also, these monolayers were representatively observed, showing the change of surface pressure with irradiation time and wavelength. In AFM images. the larger domains irregularly shaped structures on the top while the smaller ones were free from such defects. In the optical absorption spectra of the LB films by UV irradiation and heat treatment, only photoisomerization of the G4-48Az monolayers was observed, a decrease of absorbance peak without change of the spectral shape. This suggests that optical behavior and morphological change are affected by the functional group and the symmetric chain.

  • Ga-doped and Al-doped ZnO thin films were fabricated via a sol-gel technique and electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated. Film deposition was performed by spin coating at 4000 rpm for 30 s on $SiO_2$ glass substrate FE-SEM was used to obtain the surface morphology images and the film thickness Four-point probe and UV-VIS spectrophotometer were used to measure the sheet resistance and the optical transparency, respectively.

Fabrication via Ultrasonication and Study of Silicon Nanoparticles

  • Photoluminescent porous silicon (PSi) were prepared by an electrochemical etch of n-type silicon under the illumination with a 300 W tungsten filament bulb for the duration of etch. The red photoluminescence emitting at 620 nm with an excitation wavelength of 450 nm is due to the quantum confinement of silicon nanocrystal in porous silicon. As-prepared PSi was sonicated, fractured, and centrifuged in toluene to obtain photoluminescence silicon quantum dots. BET and BHJ methods were employed to study the specific surface area of as-prepared PSi. Optical characterization of red photoluminescent silicon nanocrystal was investigated by UV-vis and fluorescence spectrometer. Also SEM and TEM images of porous silicon and nanoparticles were investigated.

  • Brewster angle microscopy(BAM) makes it possible to measure domains of Langmuir films. Especially, formation and phase transition of the PAAS Langmuir monolayers from a gas phase to a solid phase at the air-water interface were observed by the use of BAM. And also we observed the comparative images of films deposited at each phase. The UV/visible absorption spectra of this films showed molecular intensity and aggregation at each state. The electrical properties of this material were measured by current-voltage(I-V) characteristics.

졸-겔 방법으로 제조한 ZnO 쇼트키 다이오드의 특성 연구 (Schottky diode characteristics of a sol-gel driven ZnO)

  • ZnO thin films with preferred orientation along the (0 0 2) plane were fabricated by a sol-gel method. The effects of the annealing temperature, time, and thickness were studied by investigating UV-visible spectra, FT-IR spectra, and XRD of ZnO films. The films were dried and annealed ed at $100^{\circ}C,\;200^{\circ}C$, and $300^{\circ}C$ for 1hr, 2hrs, and 3hrs, respectively. The film showed the preferred (0 0 2) orientation and high transmittance near 90% in the visible range. Also, SEM images of the films exhibited very smooth surfaces without holes and cracks. Schottky diodes were fabricated by using ZnO sol-gel material. Au and Al were used as electrodes to make Ohmic and Schottky contacts, respectively. The annealing temperature, time and the thickness dependent I-V characteristics were presented in this article.

  • 건강과 미용에 대한 관심은 IT 기술의 발전과 결합하여 유-헬스케어 산업의 부흥을 이끌고 있다. 특히, 향상된 디지털 영상 장비를 통한 각종 신체 정보 분석이 가능해짐에 따라 피부 자가 진단 시스템 등에 대한 연구 및 제품 출시가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이진 영상의 각 축에 대한 밀도 분석을 통해 특징점을 검출하는 방법을 소개하고 이를 토대로 자외선 광으로 촬영한 피부 현미경 영상에서 피지 부위를 자동 검출하는 기법을 제안하며 실험을 통하여 성능을 분석한다.
