In this manuscript, the UNet++ model, which is one of the representative deep learning techniques for semantic segmentation, was used to detect changes in temporal satellite images. To analyze the learning results according to various loss functions, we evaluated the change detection results using trained UNet++ models by binary cross entropy and the Jaccard coefficient. In addition, the learning results of the deep learning model were analyzed compared to existing pixel-based change detection algorithms by using WorldView-3 images. In the experiment, it was confirmed that the performance of the deep learning model could be determined depending on the characteristics of the loss function, but it showed better results compared to the existing techniques.
There is a problem that the size of the dataset is insufficient due to the limitation of the collection of the medical image public data, so there is a possibility that the existing studies are overfitted to the public dataset. In this paper, we compare the performance of eight (Unet, X-Net, HarDNet, SegNet, PSPNet, SwinUnet, 3D-ResU-Net, UNETR) medical image semantic segmentation models to revalidate the superiority of existing models. Anatomical Tracings of Lesions After Stroke (ATLAS) V1.2, a public dataset for stroke diagnosis, is used to compare the performance of the models and the performance of the models in ATLAS V2.0. Experimental results show that most models have similar performance in V1.2 and V2.0, but X-net and 3D-ResU-Net have higher performance in V1.2 datasets. These results can be interpreted that the models may be overfitted to V1.2.
In this paper, we introduce the SSResUNet network model, which integrates the SPADE structure with the U-Net network model for accurate land cover classification using high-resolution satellite imagery without requiring user intervention. The proposed network possesses the advantage of preserving the spatial characteristics inherent in satellite imagery, rendering it a robust classification model even in intricate environments. Experimental results, obtained through training on KOMPSAT-3A satellite images, exhibit superior performance compared to conventional U-Net and U-Net++ models, showcasing an average Intersection over Union (IoU) of 76.10 and a Dice coefficient of 86.22.

Breast cancer is the most dangerous and deadly form of cancer. Initial detection of breast cancer can significantly improve treatment effectiveness. The second most common cancer among Indian women in rural areas. Early detection of symptoms and signs is the most important technique to effectively treat breast cancer, as it enhances the odds of receiving an earlier, more specialist care. As a result, it has the possible to significantly improve survival odds by delaying or entirely eliminating cancer. Mammography is a high-resolution radiography technique that is an important factor in avoiding and diagnosing cancer at an early stage. Automatic segmentation of the breast part using Mammography pictures can help reduce the area available for cancer search while also saving time and effort compared to manual segmentation. Autoencoder-like convolutional and deconvolutional neural networks (CN-DCNN) were utilised in previous studies to automatically segment the breast area in Mammography pictures. We present Automatic SegmenAN, a unique end-to-end adversarial neural network for the job of medical image segmentation, in this paper. Because image segmentation necessitates extensive, pixel-level labelling, a standard GAN's discriminator's single scalar real/fake output may be inefficient in providing steady and appropriate gradient feedback to the networks. Instead of utilising a fully convolutional neural network as the segmentor, we suggested a new adversarial critic network with a multi-scale L1 loss function to force the critic and segmentor to learn both global and local attributes that collect long- and short-range spatial relations among pixels. We demonstrate that an Automatic SegmenAN perspective is more up to date and reliable for segmentation tasks than the state-of-the-art U-net segmentation technique.
Background and Objectives: Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) evaluation of coronary artery morphology is based on the lumen and vessel segmentation. This study aimed to develop an automatic segmentation algorithm and validate the performances for measuring quantitative IVUS parameters. Methods: A total of 1,063 patients were randomly assigned, with a ratio of 4:1 to the training and test sets. The independent data set of 111 IVUS pullbacks was obtained to assess the vessel-level performance. The lumen and external elastic membrane (EEM) boundaries were labeled manually in every IVUS frame with a 0.2-mm interval. The Efficient-UNet was utilized for the automatic segmentation of IVUS images. Results: At the frame-level, Efficient-UNet showed a high dice similarity coefficient (DSC, 0.93±0.05) and Jaccard index (JI, 0.87±0.08) for lumen segmentation, and demonstrated a high DSC (0.97±0.03) and JI (0.94±0.04) for EEM segmentation. At the vessel-level, there were close correlations between model-derived vs. experts-measured IVUS parameters; minimal lumen image area (r=0.92), EEM area (r=0.88), lumen volume (r=0.99) and plaque volume (r=0.95). The agreement between model-derived vs. expert-measured minimal lumen area was similarly excellent compared to the experts' agreement. The model-based lumen and EEM segmentation for a 20-mm lesion segment required 13.2 seconds, whereas manual segmentation with a 0.2-mm interval by an expert took 187.5 minutes on average. Conclusions: The deep learning models can accurately and quickly delineate vascular geometry. The artificial intelligence-based methodology may support clinicians' decision-making by real-time application in the catheterization laboratory.
Liver cancer is the most fatal cancer that occurs worldwide. In order to diagnose liver cancer, the patient's physical condition was checked by using a CT technique using radiation. Segmentation was needed to diagnose the liver on the patient's abdominal CT scan, which the radiologists had to do manually, which caused tremendous time and human mistakes. In order to automate, researchers attempted segmentation using image segmentation algorithms in computer vision field, but it was still time-consuming because of the interactive based and the setting value. To reduce time and to get more accurate segmentation, researchers have begun to attempt to segment the liver in CT images using CNNs, which show significant performance in various computer vision fields. The pixel value, or numerical value, of the CT image is called the Hounsfield Unit (HU) value, which is a relative representation of the transmittance of radiation, and usually ranges from about -2000 to 2000. In general, deep learning researchers reduce or limit this range and use it for training to remove noise and focus on the target organ. Here, we observed that the range of HU values was limited in many studies but different in various liver segmentation studies, and assumed that performance could vary depending on the HU range. In this paper, we propose the possibility of considering HU value range as a hyper parameter. U-Net and ResUNet were used to compare and experiment with different HU range limit preprocessing of CHAOS dataset under limited conditions. As a result, it was confirmed that the results are different depending on the HU range. This proves that the range limiting the HU value itself can be a hyper parameter, which means that there are HU ranges that can provide optimal performance for various models.
In this paper, we propose an innovative approach that leverages deep learning to find optimal reference points for achieving precise tooth segmentation in three-dimensional tooth point cloud data. A dataset consisting of 350 aligned maxillary and mandibular cloud data was used as input, and both end coordinates of individual teeth were used as correct answers. A two-dimensional image was created by projecting the rendered point cloud data along the Z-axis, where an image of individual teeth was created using an object detection algorithm. The proposed algorithm is designed by adding various modules to the Unet model that allow effective learning of a narrow range, and detects both end points of the tooth using the generated tooth image. In the evaluation using DSC, Euclid distance, and MAE as indicators, we achieved superior performance compared to other Unet-based models. In future research, we will develop an algorithm to find the reference point of the point cloud by back-projecting the reference point detected in the image in three dimensions, and based on this, we will develop an algorithm to divide the teeth individually in the point cloud through image processing techniques.

The way to measure the extent of damage from floods and droughts is to identify changes in the extent of water systems. In order to effectively grasp this at a glance, satellite images are used. KOMPSAT-5 uses Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to capture images regardless of weather conditions such as clouds and rain. In this paper, various deep learning models are applied to perform semantic segmentation of the water system in this SAR image and the performance is compared. The models used are U-net, V-Net, U2-Net, UNet 3+, PSPNet, Deeplab-V3, Deeplab-V3+ and PAN. In addition, performance comparison was performed when the data was augmented by applying elastic deformation to the existing SAR image dataset. As a result, without data augmentation, U-Net was the best with IoU of 97.25% and pixel accuracy of 98.53%. In case of data augmentation, Deeplab-V3 showed IoU of 95.15% and V-Net showed the best pixel accuracy of 96.86%.

In this paper, we proposed a system that visualizes a hologram device in 3D by utilizing the CT image segmentation function based on artificial intelligence deep learning. The input axial CT medical image is converted into Sagittal and Coronal, and the input image and the converted image are divided into 3D volumes using ResUNet, a deep learning model. In addition, the volume is created by segmenting the tumor region in the segmented liver image. Each result is integrated into one 3D volume, displayed in a medical image viewer, and converted into a video. When the converted video is transmitted to the hologram device and output from the device, a 3D image with a sense of space can be checked. As for the performance of the deep learning model, in Axial, the basic input image, DSC showed 95.0% performance in liver region segmentation and 67.5% in liver tumor region segmentation. If the system is applied to a real-world care environment, additional physical contact is not required, making it safer for patients to explain changes before and after surgery more easily. In addition, it will provide medical staff with information on liver and liver tumors necessary for treatment or surgery in a three-dimensional manner, and help patients manage them after surgery by comparing and observing the liver before and after liver resection.
