Nowadays, with progresses in robotic science, the design and implementation of a mechanism for human-robot interaction with a low workload is inevitable. One notable challenge in this field is the interaction between a single human and a group of robots. Therefore, we propose a new comprehensive framework for single-human multiple-robot remote interaction that can form an efficient intelligent adaptive interaction (IAI). Our interaction system can thoroughly adapt itself to changes in interaction context and user states. Some advantages of our devised IAI framework are lower workload, higher level of situation awareness, and efficient interaction. In this paper, we introduce a new IAI architecture as our comprehensive mechanism. In order to practically examine the architecture, we implemented our proposed IAI to control a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under different scenarios. The results show that our devised IAI framework can effectively reduce human workload and the level of situation awareness, and concurrently foster the mission completion percentage of the UAVs.

In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were actively developed in various fields. In development process of UAVs, flight test is performed to ensure that minimum safety requirements and technical requirements are met. By constructing flight test infrastructure such as takeoff and landing facilities, operation procedure, and equipments, flight test can be performed effectively. In this paper, operation procedures of civil UAV's flight test are proposed. The procedures proposed are composed by two main steps: first, planning and permitting procedure of flight test. Secondly, execution and control procedure of flight test.

In this paper, we propose fast object detection method of the cars by applying YOLOv2(You Only Look Once version 2) and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) while on the highway. We operated Darknet, OpenCV, CUDA and Deep Learning Server(SDX-4185) for our simulation environment. YOLOv2 is recently developed fast object detection algorithm that can detect various scale objects as fast speed. YOLOv2 convolution network algorithm allows to calculate probability by one pass evaluation and predicts location of each cars, because object detection process has simple single network. In our result, we could find cars on the highway area as fast speed and we could apply to the real time.
The increasing popularity of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be attributed to their wide range of applications. 3D path planning is one of the crucial components enabling autonomous flight. In this paper, we present a novel 3D path planning algorithm that generates and utilizes curvature-based trajectories. Our approach leverages circular properties, offering notable advantages. First, circular trajectories make collision detection easier. Second, the planning procedure is streamlined by eliminating the need for the spline process to generate dynamically feasible trajectories. To validate our proposed algorithm, we conducted simulations in Gazebo Simulator. Within the simulation, we placed various obstacles such as pillars, nets, trees, and walls. The results demonstrate the efficacy and potential of our proposed algorithm in facilitating efficient and reliable 3D path planning for UAVs.
Sonobuoys are disposable devices that utilize sound waves for information gathering, detecting engine noises, and capturing various acoustic characteristics. They play a crucial role in accurately detecting underwater targets, making them effective detection systems in anti-submarine warfare. Existing sonobuoy deployment methods in multistatic systems often rely on fixed patterns or heuristic-based rules, lacking efficiency in terms of the number of sonobuoys deployed and operational time due to the unpredictable mobility of the underwater targets. Thus, this paper proposes an optimal sonobuoy placement strategy for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to overcome the limitations of conventional sonobuoy deployment methods. The proposed approach utilizes reinforcement learning in a simulation-based experimental environment that considers the movements of the underwater targets. The Unity ML-Agents framework is employed, and the Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm is utilized for UAV learning in a virtual operational environment with real-time interactions. The reward function is designed to consider the number of sonobuoys deployed and the cost associated with sound sources and receivers, enabling effective learning. The proposed reinforcement learning-based deployment strategy compared to the conventional sonobuoy deployment methods in the same experimental environment demonstrates superior performance in terms of detection success rate, deployed sonobuoy count, and operational time.

This study addresses adaptive control of UAVs(Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) pitch-axis maneuver. The MRAC(Model Referenced Adaptive Control) approach is employed to accommodate uncertainties which are introduced by feedback linearization of pitch attitude control by elevator input. The model uncertainty is handled by adaptation laws which update model parameters while the UAV is under control by the feedback control law. Steady-state pitch attitude achieved by the stabilizing control law is derived to provide insight on the closed-loop behavior of the controlled system. The proposed idea is free of linearization, gain-scheduling procedures, so that one can design high maneuverability of UAVs for pitching motion in the presence of significant model uncertainty.

This paper is focused on dynamic modeling and control system design as well as vision based collision avoidance for multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Multi-rotor UAVs are defined as rotary-winged UAVs with multiple rotors. These multi-rotor UAVs can be utilized in various military situations such as surveillance and reconnaissance. They can also be used for obtaining visual information from steep terrains or disaster sites. In this paper, a quad-rotor model is introduced as well as its control system, which is designed based on a proportional-integral-derivative controller and vision-based collision avoidance control system. Additionally, in order for a UAV to navigate safely in areas such as buildings and offices with a number of obstacles, there must be a collision avoidance algorithm installed in the UAV's hardware, which should include the detection of obstacles, avoidance maneuvering, etc. In this paper, the optical flow method, one of the vision-based collision avoidance techniques, is introduced, and multi-rotor UAV's collision avoidance simulations are described in various virtual environments in order to demonstrate its avoidance performance.
Applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and the time varying nature of their navigation, guidance and control systems motivate an integrated approach to trajectory general ion and trajectory tracking for autonomous vehicles. In this paper, an experimental testbed was designed for studying this integrated trajectory control approach. In this paper we apply the separating approach to an autonomous nonlinear vehicle system. A new linear matrix inequality based H$_{\infty}$ control technique for periodic time-varying systems is applied to the role of trajectory tracking. Trajectory general ion is accomplished by exploit ing the differential flatness property of the vehicle system; this at lows product ion of desired feasible nominal or reference trajectories from certain ″flat'system outputs. Simulation and experimental results are presented showing stable tracking of a periodic circular trajectory.

In conducting a mission to explore and track targets using a number of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs), performance for that mission may vary significantly depending on the operating conditions of the UAVs such as the number of operations, the altitude, and what future flight paths each aircraft decides based on its current position. However, studies on the number of operations, operating conditions, and flight patterns of unmanned aircraft in these surveillance missions are insufficient. In this study, several types of flight simulations were conducted to detect and determine targets while multiple UAVs were involved in the avoidance of collisions according to various autonomous flight algorithms based by flocking theory, and the results were presented to suggest a more efficient/effective way to control a number of UAVs in target detection missions.

Recently, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are expected much as the Unmanned Systems for various missions. These missions are often based on the Vision System. Especially, missions such as surveillance and pursuit have a process which is carried on through the transmitted vision data from the UAV. In case of small UAVs, monocular vision is often used to consider weights and expenses. Research of missions performance using the monocular vision is continued but, actually, ground and target model have difference in distance from the UAV. So, 3D distance measurement is still incorrect. In this study, Mean-Shift Algorithm, Optical Flow and Subspace Method are posed to estimate the relative depth. Mean-Shift Algorithm is used for target tracking and determining Region of Interest (ROI). Optical Flow includes image motion information using pixel intensity. After that, Subspace Method computes the translation and rotation of image and estimates the relative depth. Finally, we present the results of this study using images obtained from the UAV experiments.
