  • Acquiring precise coordinates of ground targets can be regarded as the key mission of the tactical-level military UAS(Unmanned Aerial System) operations. The coordinates deviations for the ground targets estimated from UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) images may depend on the sensor specifications and slant ranges between UAV and ground targets. It has an order of several tens to hundreds of meters for typical tactical UAV mission scenarios. In this paper, we propose a scheme that precisely acquires target coordinates from UAS by mapping image pixels to geographical coordinates based on GCP(Ground Control Points). This scheme was implemented and tested from ground control station for UAS. We took images of targets of which exact location is known and acquired the target coordinates using our proposed scheme. The experimental results showed that errors of the acquired coordinates remained within an order of several meters and the coordinates accuracy was significantly improved.

  • The present study was performed to analyze the molecular mechanism which dictates the transcription regulation of the $O^6$-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) gene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Previously we identified one possible upstream repressing sequence (URS) in MGMT promoter by promoter deletion and competition analysis. In this paper we report another regulatory element (UAS: upstream activating sequence. -213 to -136) which affects the transcription activity of MGMT promoter. Gel mobility shift assay and Southwestern blot analysis using UAS probe showed several specific proteins which were able to bind to this sequence.

  • Considering the increased demand for unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) in various commercial and public sectors, it is necessary to integrate a UAS into a national airspace program for manned aircraft operations. For the safe operation of a UAS in a national airspace program, in addition to the detection and avoidance capability at a similar level of "see and avoid" by pilots of manned aircraft, a highly reliable control and non-payload communication (CNPC) link is needed for unmanned aircraft vehicle (UAV) control at a similar level as aircraft control by manned aircraft pilots. In this paper, we analyze the trends in domestic and international standardization activities on the UAS CNPC network technology for the safe integration of UAS into a national airspace program.

  • Unmanned Aircraft System(UAS) is a huge and complicated system that is composed of UAV, ground control system, datalink system, and mission equipments. We have applied system engineering to development of UAS. Configuration management is very important activity for efficient developments. The Configuration management process comprises four distinct disciplines (Configuration identification, Configuration control, Configuration status accounting, and Configuration audit). This paper explains the configuration management system of UAS development project which ADD executes and introduces several examples of these four disciplines.

  • Objectives : This study was designed to assess the effect of Soyangin Medicines on Soyangin chronic urticaria patients by retrospective methods. Methods : We treated 37 Soyangin chronic urticaria patients who visited Haneulmaeum Korean Medicine Clinic from September 1st 2011 to June 30th 2014. We administrated the Soyangin patients with Soyangin Medicines such as Hyeongbangsabaek-san(荊防瀉白散), Yanggyeoksanwha-tang(凉膈散火湯) and so on for 3 months. We measured the effect biweekly by using Urticaria Activity Score(UAS). We analyzed the information and medical history of patients by Frequency analysis, and UAS by Repeated measures, ANOVA.Results & Conclusions : Every items of UAS were improved by Soyangin Medicines. And the improvement was statistically significant(p<0.05).

  • Among the activities of 3GPP for operating 5G-based unmanned aerial vehicles, we introduce several use cases of UAVs in 5G mobile communication such as radio access node onboard UAV, simultaneous support data transmission for UAVs and eMBB users, autonomous UAVs controlled by AI, isolated deployment of radio access through UAV, and separation of UAV service area. From this, we further summarize 5G mobile communication requirements for UAVs, including definition and operational criteria of UAS, UAS remote identification requirements, UAS usage requirements, and performance requirements. Finally, regarding 5G mobile communication-based UAS connectivity, identification and tracking support, we discuss the 3GPP UAV architecture, seven major problems, the proposed solutions to each problem, and propose the results for future specification work.

  • Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are defined as the system whose components include the necessary equipment, network, and personnel to control an unmanned aircraft. In the past, UAS were predominately operated for military operations. However, nowadays, the applications of UAS to commercial area are explosively augmented and UAS are being expected to be integrated in national airspace. Therefore, the need for the standardized datalink systems rapidly and the development of control and non-payload communication (CNPC) system are being processed for integration in national airspace in United States and Europe. In this paper, the technology trends for UAS CNPC datalink are explained and presented the performance evaluation results for CNPC system, which is the modified version of IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee system.

  • Rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is a major disease. In the present study, we aimed to identify and evaluate the novel bacterial isolates from rice rhizosphere for biocontrol of M. oryzae pathogen. Sixty bacterial strains from the rice plant's rhizosphere were tested for their biocontrol activity against M. oryzae under in vitro and in vivo. Among them, B. amyloliquefaciens had significant high activity against the pathogen. The least disease severity and highest germination were recorded in seeds treated with B. amyloliquefaciens UASBR9 (0.96 and 98.00%) compared to untreated control (3.43 and 95.00%, respectively) under in vivo condition. These isolates had high activity of enzymes in relation to growth promoting activity upon challenge inoculation of the pathogen. The potential strains were identified based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing and dominance of these particular genes were associated in Bacillus strains. These strains were also confirmed for the presence of antimicrobial peptide biosynthetic genes viz., srfAA (surfactin), fenD (fengycin), spaS (subtilin), and ituC (iturin) related to secondary metabolite production (e.g., AMPs). Overall, the results suggested that application of potential bacterial strains like B. amyloliquefaciens UASBR9 not only helps in control of the biological suppression of one of the most devastating rice pathogens, M. grisea but also increases plant growth along with a reduction in application of toxic chemical pesticides.
