The purpose of this study is to investigate the manufacturing technique on the U type Draw-Bending of inner grooved tube. This bending process make the U shape tube by Hair Pin Bending machine. The U type tube requires the quality of product that satisfy sufficient conditions for a heat exchanger. The mandrel components act the important roles that prevent wrinkles and keep the shape of cross section of bended tube at bending process. We performed the FEM simulation using LS-DYNA software and the bending test of inner groove tube and then, compared bending simulation with bending test results about mandrel ball diameter, mandrel position and optimal clearance between mandrel and tube.

This paper presents Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models for evaluating bond strength of deformed, plain and cold formed bars in low strength concrete. The ANN models were implemented using the experimental database developed by conducting experiments in three different universities on total of 138 pullout and 108 splitting specimens under monotonic loading. The key parameters examined in the experiments are low strength concrete, bar development length, concrete cover, rebar type (deformed, cold-formed, plain) and diameter. These deficient parameters are typically found in non-engineered reinforced concrete structures of developing countries. To develop ANN bond model for each bar type, four inputs (the low strength concrete, development length, concrete cover and bar diameter) are used for training the neurons in the network. Multi-Layer-Perceptron was trained according to a back-propagation algorithm. The ANN bond model for deformed bar consists of a single hidden layer and the 9 neurons. For Tor bar and plain bars the ANN models consist of 5 and 6 neurons and a single hidden layer, respectively. The developed ANN models are capable of predicting bond strength for both pull and splitting bond failure modes. The developed ANN models have higher coefficient of determination in training, validation and testing with good prediction and generalization capacity. The comparison of experimental bond strength values with the outcomes of ANN models showed good agreement. Moreover, the ANN model predictions by varying different parameters are also presented for all bar types.
Using variational methods, Krasnoselskii's genus theory and symmetric mountain pass theorem, we introduce the existence and multiplicity of solutions of a parameteric local equation. At first, we consider the following equation $$\{-div[a(x,{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}){\nabla}u]\,=\,{\mu}(b(x){\mid}u{\mid}^{s(x)-2}-{\mid}u{\mid}^{r(x)-2})u\;in\;{\Omega},\\u\,=0\,on\;{\partial}{\Omega},$$ where Ω⊆ ℝN is a bounded domain, µ is a positive real parameter, p, r and s are continuous real functions on ${\bar{\Omega}}$ and a(x, ξ) is of type |ξ|p(x)-2. Next, we study boundedness and simplicity of eigenfunction for the case a(x, |∇u|)∇u = g(x)|∇u|p(x)-2∇u, where g ∈ L∞(Ω) and g(x) ≥ 0 and the case $a(x,\,{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}){{\nabla}u}\,=\,(1\,+\,{\nabla}u{\mid}^2)^{\frac{p(x)-2}{2}}{\nabla}u$ such that p(x) ≡ p.
In this study, we presented comparative discrimination methods to identify various line and planar defects observed in nonpolar a-GaN epilayers on r-sapphire substrates. Unlike the case of conventional c-GaN, which is dominated by perfect threading dislocations, systematic identification of undistinguishable defects using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is necessary to suppress the propagation of defects in nonpolar GaN epilayers. Cross-sectional TEM images near the [0001] zone axis revealed that perfect mixed and pure screw type dislocations are visible, while pure edge, partial dislocations, and basal stacking faults (BSFs) are not discernible. In tilted cross-sectional TEM images along the [$1\bar{2}10$] zone axis, the dominant defects were BSFs and partial dislocations for the $g=10\bar{1}0$ and 0002 two-beam images, respectively. From plan view TEM images taken along the [$11\bar{2}0$] axis, it was found that the dominantpartial and perfect dislocations were Frank-Shockley with b=${\pm}1/6$<$20\bar{2}3$> and mixed type without an 1 component including b=${\pm}1/3$<$1\bar{2}10$> and ${\pm}1/3$<$\bar{2}110$>, respectively. Prismatic stacking faults were observed as inclined line contrast near the [0001] zone axis and were visible as band contrast in the two-beam images along the [$1\bar{2}10$] and [$11\bar{2}0$] zone axes.
This study aims to examine the early use of Da-bo tap and their transformation by analyzing the various meanings of the term pagoda in Chinese translations, the Sanskrit version of the Lotus Sutra, as well as Dabotap in the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang. In addition, we aim to highlight changes in Dabotap usage, which started out as residential spaces, but transformed into burial spaces over time. The details can be summarized as follows. First, early Buddhist monuments were usually either pagodas serving as burial places for the dead or shrines that were not. A Dabotap is a type of pagoda enshrining the body of Prabhutaratna, and was initially used as a residential space, rather than a burial place for the dead. Second, the terms stupa and caitya are clearly distinguished from each other in the Sanskrit scriptures, and stupa is also further classified into dhatu, sarisa, and atmabhava based on the object being enshrined. In Gyeon-bo-tab-pum, the preconditions for caitya to transform into stupa is presented by explaining that worshipping the space enshrining the body of Prabhutaratna is worthy of the same status as the space enshrining sarira. Third, the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang had been depicted from the Western Wei of the Northern Dynasties until the time of the Yuan Dynasty. It was used as a residential space until the early Sui Dynasty, but was used as both residence and burial places until the Tang Dynasty when pagodas were first being constructed with wheel or circles forms on top, which then gradually changed into stupa (grave towers).
We consider a class of elliptic problems of a logistic type $$-div(|{\nabla}_u|^{m-2}{\nabla}_u)\;=\;w(x)u^q\;-\;(a(x))^{\frac{m}{2}}\;f(u)$$ in a bounded domain of $\mathbf{R}^N$ with boundary $\partial\Omega$ of class $C^2$, $u|_{\partial\Omega}\;=\;+{\infty}$, $\omega\;\in\;L^{\infty}(\Omega)$, 0 < q < 1 and $a\;{\in}\;C^{\alpha}(\bar{\Omega})$, $\mathbf{R}^+$ is non-negative for some $\alpha\;\in$ (0,1), where $\mathbf{R}^+\;=\;[0,\;\infty)$. Under suitable growth assumptions on a, b and f, we show the exact blow-up rate and uniqueness of the large solutions. Our proof is based on the method of sub-supersolution.
We investigate the connection between the presence of bars and AGN activity, using a volume-limited sample of ~6,000 late-type galaxies with axis ratio b/a > 0.6 and $M_r=-19.5+5logh$ at low redshift (0.02 < z ${\leq}$ 0.055), selected from Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7. Although bars are believed to play an important role in fueling AGNs, it is still an open question whether AGN activity is connected with the presence of bars. We find that the bar fraction in AGN-host galaxies (44.1%) is 2.5 times higher than in non-AGN galaxies (17.6%), implying an AGN-bar connection. However, this trend is simply caused by the fact that AGN-host galaxies are on average more massive and redder than non-AGN galaxies since the bar fraction increases with u-r color and velocity dispersion. When AGN-host and non-AGN galaxies with fixed u-r color and velocity dispersion are compared, the excess of bar fraction in AGN-host galaxies disappears. Among AGN-host galaxies we find no strong difference of the Eddington ratio distributions between barred and non-barred systems. These results indicate that AGN activity is not directly connected with the presence of bars.
