The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of imagery therapy on "coping mechanism and type C personality of the women with mastectomy. To achieve this purpose, 2 hours sessions of imagery therapy were given to the patients with breast cancer twice a week for 6 weeks. The period of data collection was from July, 7th to August, 12th 2002. The participants were 30 patients, 15 experimental group, 15 control group who were treated at the G University hospital in J City. This study was designed using a quasi-experimental approach with non-equivalent Pre test-Post test Design. The themes for the Imagery Therapy Program were composed of Leuner's(1969) 12 Imagery Themes: flower, green-field, stream, mountain, house, woods, significant figures, rose, lion, ideal self-image, cave and volcano. The data were analyzed with ${\chi}2-test$ and MANOVA using the SPSS program. The course of image change of the 12 imagery themes was analyzed by content analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First Hypothesis, 'The score of type C personality in the women with mastectomy who received imagery therapy will be significantly lower than that of the control group' was supported(p<.05). Second Hypothesis, 'The score of coping mechanism' in the women with mastectomy who received imagery therapy will be significantly higher than that of the control group' was rejected. In conclusion, imagery therapy is suggested as an effective nursing intervention to change type C personality of the women with mastectomy, but not effective to improve coping mechanism. Therefore, the program for the women with mastectomy should be developed to change their coping mechanism, method of problem solving and Quality of life.
This study was to determine the relationship between nurse DISC personality types, self-efficacy, clinical performance. Data were collected from 302 nurses in 5 hospitals in K city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient. With regard to self-efficacy and clinical performance, D type showed a higher score than type I type and S type. The lower region of the clinical performance showed the nursing process, nursing skills, higher score than the D Type S Type in professional development. With regard to personality and self-efficacy, and clinical performance, the type D (r=.56, p<.01), I type (r=.66, p<.01), S type (r=.6, p<.01) showed a positive correlation with type C (r=.52, p<.01). As shown by these results, each personality type has a different correlation with self-efficacy and clinical performance ability. This factor should be considered in the assignment of nurses to departments or individual training programs so that they can deliver the most effective job performance.

This study aims to investigate the stress factors of students in Dental Hygiene Department who will soon take the national examination, corresponding countermeasures and relationship of internal and external personality. On the basis of the results from investigation, this study will identify the methods to effectively cope with stress and to take the national examination with more positive thinking for the students and faculty members in Dental Hygiene Department, who have to pass the difficult test, the national examination. The structured questionnaires were given to junior students in Dental Hygiene Department in three colleges, to identify the stress factors, methods to deal with stress and A/B personality types. For the stress factor by field, the M college showed significantly higher stress about curriculum and assignment than the C college. In the stress factor analysis by item, the lack of information on national examination in the test area, all items in learning environment, a quantity of assignment that doesn't help the preparation of national examination in the assignment area, and lack of information on employment in job area demonstrated the significant difference(p<0.05). For the methods of subjects to deal with stress, several subcategories of long-term and short-term adaptation had significance. In case of the methods to deal with stress by personality type, B type in the short-term adaptation method in M college and A type in the long-term adaptation method in C college were significantly higher(p<0.05). As for the correlation between the population sociological features and stress factors by personality type, health status had the high correlation with test in the test area. In other areas, the travel hours to school showed the significant correlation. The higher the records were, the longer the travel hours were and the better the health status was, the higher the long-term adaptation method scores were. Moreover, the personality of A type showed the higher scores in the long-term adaptation method than that of B type. The health status and personality type showed the significant correlation(p<0.05). In conclusion, it is required to prevent any situations b identify the personality type and stress reasons of the students in Dental Hygiene Department who will take the national examination soon. The additional requirement is the continuing interest and counseling of faculty members to help students to cope with stress with positive attitude.
Objectives: To evaluate the psychological characteristics of Korean medical students focusing on the Holland types and the MMPI-2. Methods: A survey was conducted on 81 Korean medicine students to investigate psychological characteristics focusing on the Holland types and the MMPI-2. Results: The orders of frequency of the Holland type in Korean medicine students were S>I>C>A=E>R (all), I>S>C>R=E>A (male) and S>A>C>I>E>R (female). The relationships between the Holland types and the MMPI-2 were R type (Mf negative), A type (Mf Pa Ma positive, Si negative), S type (Mf positive, D Pt Sc Si negative) and E type (Ma positive, D Si negative). Conclusions: From personality tests for male and female Korean medical students, there were differences on some scales of the Holland types. The Holland types are related to the specific scales of the MMPI-2.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of personality type on human performance tool compliance in nuclear power plants (NPPs) and to propose general recommendations for an enhancement of its practical utilization. Background: Various guidelines, regulating criteria, and recommendations have been developed to prevent human errors in NPPs. Despite these efforts, the accidents sometimes caused by human errors have steadily occurred, and therefore, various human performance tools have been adopted as countermeasures against human errors. The major and inevitable contributing factors among the many hazards to human errors might be the trait and personality, which are considered to be the inner world of humans. Thus, we try to investigate the utilization of human performance tools by considering the different types of operating crew personalities, and we suggested more practical recommendations to prevent human errors according to the personality. Method: We developed the Questionnaire using the Big 6 (HEXACO) models, which are human performance tools for workers in NPPs, and individual (condition) variables to investigate the effect of personality types on human performance tools. We slightly modified them to help the survey respondents understand them better. A survey was conducted for ordinary people over the age of 20. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform a correlation analysis and a hierarchical regression analysis to find the relationship between personality types and human performance tools. Results: The utilization of human performance tools shows significant differences statistically by personality. The correlation result reveals that the types of Honesty (H), Extraversion (X), Conscientiousness (C), and Openness to experience (O) show a higher utilization of human performance tools. In hierarchical regression results, human performance tools of task preview, questioning attitude, stopping when unsure, self-checking, effective communication, and place-keeping show a higher utilization with personality types. However, the Agreeableness (A) type did not show significant differences statistically with human performance tools. Conclusion: We tried to investigate the utilization of human performance tools by considering the different types of human personality and provide more practical recommendations to prevent human errors according to the personality. These results will be able to prevent human errors owing to the characteristics (advantages and disadvantages) of personality types. Application: This information can be utilized as guidelines for proactive recommendations according to the workers' personalities for more practical human performance tools to prevent human errors in an NPP.

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of critical thinking dispositions on vocational personalities in university students. Subjects were 111 University students in Busan. The questionnaire used in this research were Holland's Vocational Personality Questionnaire and California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory. The results were analyzed by correlation analysis and enter multiple regression using the SPSS statistical package (SPSS for windows 12.0; SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). The study results were as follow: First, the students had much more S and R vocational personality characteristics than the others in vocational personality characteristics and had higher inquisitiveness and self-confidence scores than the others in critical thinking dispositions. Second, there were significant relationships between vocational personality types and critical thinking dispositions. Third, some of the vocational personality types were affected by the critical thinking dispositions. Especially I, E, and C personality of vocational personalities were prospected by critical thinking dispositions. Therefore, It's necessary that we understand the relationships between vocational personality types and critical thinking dispositions. Also we have to think over how to development career programs for university students to match to the learner's vocational personality type and critical thinking dispositions.
In this dissertation I have interest in the personality classification in order to recognize the personlity classification in order to recognize the tenfency of the mentality and the action. This paper compare the temperament of Sasangin(四象人) by Lee Je Ma(李濟馬) and The Psychological Types of C. G. Jung. As a result I get the following conclusions:1. Sasang understood that Sassangin have original tendency of the mentality. But C. G. Jung understood man has all of the four psychological type though they have discrepancy among them.2. In the function of the mentality, the both are similar.3. The mentality of So-Eum-In(少陰人) is similar to The Type of Thinking. The mentality of So-Yang-In(少陽人) is simliar to The Type of Feeling. The mentality of Tae-Eum-In(太陰人) is similar to The Type of Sensation. The mentality of Tae-Yang-In(太陽人) is similar to The Type of Intuition.4. The tendency of the mentality by the personality classification is of some use in the oriental medical therapy.5. For using the tendency of the mentality in oriental medical psychotherapy, they require more studies.
Purpose: This study was to identify the relationship between parental rearing attitudes and personality in nursing college students. Methods: A total of 297 subjects aged between 18 and 28 were selected through convenient sampling. Data were collected with a self-reported questionnaire from March 2 to 25, 2011. Collected data were analyzed with SpSS/pC Win 15.0. Results: Differences in parental rearing attitudes according to general characteristics were as follows. In parental rearing attitudes, acceptance were significantly different according to school record of their children. In maternal rearing attitudes, acceptance was significantly different according to economic status and paternal rearing attitudes perceived acceptance was significantly different according to parental education level. All of parental rearing attitudes perceived denial were significantly different according to the gender, grade, parental economic status, blood type, two income family. There was a positive correlation between parental rearing attitudes perceived acceptance and personality of their children except paternal rearing attitude perceived denial. 26.3% of variance in personality was explained by maternal rearing attitude perceived acceptance only. Conclusion: The findings of this study may be useful in understanding the personality of nursing college students and developing more specific personality and parental rearing attitudes programs.

This study analyzed a unique method of problem-handling, attitudes, and specific interest propensity in the career path of the type with inconsistency in the relative distance between personality type in Holland's hexagonal model. In-depth interviews and theme analysis with six clients who showed inconsistent personality type were conducted. These six were selected from 87 participants that had received training at the Korea Vocational Counselling Association, Korea Training Institute for Self-Sufficiency and Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled. From the analysis, the six clients with inconsistent 3 Codes showed four characteristics - more than three career experience, various interest pursuits, career involvement, and career identity. They were affected in their vocational behavior by their own Holland 3 Codes and showed vocational behavior very different from Holland's theory of person-environment fit approach. They showed positive, ambivalent and chaotic types on career identity. Furthermore, Conventional(C)-Investigative(I)-Social(S) 3 Codes type and Artistic(A)-Enterprising(E)-Realistic(R) 3 Codes type in the same inconsistent personality type showed different vocational behaviors in career path development, which relates to the meaning of Holland's 3 Codes. The significance of this research lies in its provision of various points for improving career counselling.
