Some Relationships between Measurement Capability Indices of Type 1 Study, Gage R&R Study, and ISO 22514-7 (Type 1 Study, Gage R&R Study와 ISO 22514-7의 측정능력지수 간 연관성 분석)

  • Purpose: This paper reviews Type 1 Gage study, Gage R&R study, and procedure of ISO 22514-7 for assessing a measurement system, and discusses some relationships between the measurement capability indices. Methods: The gage capability index $C_g$ of Type 1 Gage study, precision-to-tolerance ratio PTR of Gage R&R study, and measurement performance ratio $Q_{MS}$ and $Q_{MP}$ of ISO 22514-7 are considered in this paper. Results: This paper derives the relationships between $C_g$ and $Q_{MS}$, PTR and $Q_{MP}$, and $Q_{MS}$ and $Q_{MP}$, respectively, and discusses the acceptance conditions for each procedures. Conclusion: The measurement capability analysis is the first step for the quality improvement of the manufacturing processes. Therefore the result of this study provides a helpful guidelines for assessing the measurement system, enabling proper evaluation of manufacturing processes.

A Statistical Program for Measurement Process Capability Analysis based on KS Q ISO 22514-7 Using R (R을 이용한 KS Q ISO 22514-7 측정 프로세스 능력 분석용 프로그램)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a statistical program for capability analysis of measuring system and measurement process based upon KS Q ISO 22514-7. Methods: R is a powerful open source functional programming language that provides high level graphics and interfaces to other languages. Therefore, in this study, we will develop the statistical program using R language. Results: The R program developed in this study consists of the following five modules. ① Measuring system capability analysis with Type 1 study data: MSCA_Type1.R ② Measuring system capability analysis with Linearity study(Type 4 study) data: MSCA_Type4.R ③ Measurement process capability analysis with Type 1 study & Gage R&R study data: MPCA_T1GRR.R ④ Measurement process capability analysis with Type 4 study & Gage R&R study data: MPCA_T4GRR.R ⑤ Attribute measurement processes capability analysis : AttributeMP.R Conclusion: KS Q ISO 22514-7 evaluates measuring systems and measurement processes on the basis of the measurement uncertainty that was determined according to the GUM(KS Q ISO/IEC Guide 98-3). KS Q ISO 22514-7 offers precise procedures, however, computations are more intensive. The R program of this study will help to evaluate the measurement process.

A Study of Deflection of Ceramic Diaphragm for a Pressure Sensor (후막저항의 기하학적 위치에 따른 압력센서의 출력특성 고찰)

  • Strain gages were widely used transducers. Essentially a strain gage was an electric element to which an appropriate type was attached. Strain was sensed by gages and provided electrical output proportional to applied forced. This paper describes the recent development of a thick film strain gage ceramic pressure sensors. The thick film resistors as strain gage in the Wheatstone bridge were fabricated with a novel mixture of ruthenium. The thick-film technology of resistors were printed on the ceramic diaphragm back side by screen printing and cured at $850^{\circ}C$. The mechanical measurements were performed with the computer simulation results(ANSYS 5.1). The output sensitivity was 1.2mV/V, of which max. nonlinearity was less than 0.29%, hysteresis was less than 0.38%FS.

  • Development of modern internal combustion engine requires more precise indicator. In the case of strain gage-strain tube type indicator, thermal expansion of the indicator's fixed part makes zero-shift in spite of water cooling. Therefore, the authors analyzed the cause of zero-shift phenomenon on strain gage-strain tube type indicator and proposed a new device to compensate the zero-shift of indicator by electrical method without detoriorating the dynamic charcteristic. As the results, we found that the zero-shift is varied linearlly according to temperature variation of the indicator's fixed part and appling a new device, we can improve the zero-shift of indicator about 0.63% (0.63 kg/$cm^2$) of full scale, though we got 10% of it without the device at the cylinder head operating temperature (c.a. $200^{\circ}C$).

  • This paper presents a method for the equivalent-circuit parameters and torque characteristics calculation of squirrel-cage induction motors. The measurment of motor parameters were calculated by the stator resistance test, the blocked rotor test and no load test through T type equivalent-circuit method. Especially, this paper describes the test results obtained by using hall sensor and strain gage for the current and the torque characteristics of induction motors. 1(HP), three-phase squirrel cage induction motor has been used during the test and the parameters are compared with those obtained by the maker parameters of simulation results and experiment.

  • 정전용량형 후막 스트레인 게이지(piezocapacitive thick film strain gage)는 세라믹 ($Al_2O_3$)을 주 원료로 하는 지지대(약 5mm)와 다이어프램(약 $300{\mu}m$) 그리고 가드 링으로 구성된다. 전극 판은 도전성 페이스트를 이용하여 지지대와 다이어프램에 형성되었으며 극판 사이에는 유전체 메이스트를 사용하여 스크린 인쇄로 후막을 형성하였다. 극판 사이의 가드 링 두께는 약 $30{\mu}m$정도로 다이어프램의 변위 최대값을 유지시키는 데 필요한 간격이다. 따라서 정전용랑형 후막 스트레인 게이지는 지지대를 중심으로 다이어프램에 압력 (0.5~1.0bar)이 인가될 때 변위를 발생시키면서 커패시터 값이 압력의 크기에 따라 비례 특성을 가지고 변화하는 것을 이용한 것이다. 압력이 없을때 초기값은 35pF~40pF 정도이고 정격압력의 최대치를 인가시켰을 때 약 55pF~55p를 나타내었다.

  • In heavy industries forces which are exceeding the range of available force standard machines have to be measured. Force measuring system using build-up procedure can be applied to measure large forces efficiently. In this study strain gage type force sensors are designed and fabricated, and the build-up force measuring system with 4.5 MN capacity using the developed force sensors is 0.03% or less over the range of 600 kN .approx. 1.5 MN and the force measuring system is less than 0.06% or less over the range of 500 kN .approx. 4.5 MN.

Development of Contact-Type Thickness Measurement Machine using LVDT Sensors (LVDT센서를 이용한 접촉식 두께자동측정기 개발)

  • In this study, we developed an automated contact-type thickness measurement machine that continuously and precisely measures the thickness of a PCB module product using multi-LVDT sensors. The system contains a measurement part to automatically measure the thickness in real time according to the set conditions with an alignment supply unit and unloading unit to separate OK and NG products. The sensors were calibrated before assembly in the measuring machine, and precision and accuracy performance tests were also performed to reduce uncertainty errors in the measurement machine. In the calibration test, the precision errors of the LVDT sensor were determined to be $1-3{\mu}m$ as 0.1% at the measuring range. A measurement error of 0.8 mm and 1.0 mm thickness test standards were found to be $1{\mu}m$ and $4{\mu}m$, and the standard deviations of two 1.0 mm products were measured as $14{\mu}m$ and $8{\mu}m$, respectively. In the measurement system analysis, the accuracies of test PCB standards were found to be $2{\mu}m$ and $3{\mu}m$, respectively. From the results of gage repeatability and reproducibility (R & R) crossed, we found that the machine is suitable for the measurement and process control in the mass production line as 7.92% of total gage R & R and in seven distinct categories. The maximum operating speed was limited at 13 pcs/min, showing a value good enough to measure.

  • In this paper. a simple high-speed crash test rig for members of vehicle was developed for the improvement of crashworthiness of vehicle's side rail. The cart hanging the specimen is accelerated up to 35 mph by the force of freely dropping weight and 1:3 accelerating pulleys. The cart with shock absorbers travels on the rail roads, so it does not transfer any additional vibration to the specimen. To measure the test results, two types of accelerator are considered. the one is a strain gage type and the other is a piezo type. The test rig is rated good to test the specimen like a side rail of vehicle as developing the vehicle's structures in the early design stage.
