Characteristics of Insertion Loss of Transmission Line with Different Line Length Crossing a Rectangular Aperture in a Backplane (백 플레인의 개구를 통과하는 길이가 다른 전송 선로의 삽입 손실 특성)

  • This paper presents the backplane effects for two-wire transmission line with different line length crossing the rectangular aperture in an infinite ground backplane. The FDTD method is used to determine the characteristics of the backplane insertion loss and return loss of the transmission line in accordance with the transmission line spacing and additional wire lengths. The results show that the insertion gain is obtained for the narrow spacing of the transmission line and the insertion loss is appeared for the transmission line with the additional wire The measurements of return loss are performed to verify the theoretical analysis.

  • This paper is concerned with the dynamic modeling of transmission line undergoing galloping vibrations. To this end, the kinetic and potential energies of a uniform wire vibrating in space are derived. The equations of motion suitable for numerical simulations are derived using the assumed mode method and Lagrange equation. The resulting equations of motion are expressed in matrix form. To cope with bundled transmission line, the spacer was modelled by a spring element. As a numerical example, a two-wire transmission line combined by spacers was considered. Natural vibration characteristics show that the in-plane vibrations of the transmission line appeared in low frequency range, which may lead to galloping.

  • Since the first underground transmission line in Korea was installed in 1974, the two types of underground transmission power cables, oil-filled and XLPE, have been applied for underground transmission lines. As the manufacturing technologies of XLPE cable have been improved and the simplicity of installation and maintenance has been focused on, the installations of XLPE cables have been largely increased since the mid 1990's. For the first time, in Korea, the 345kV XLPE cable was installed at Pyungtaek thermal power plant in 2003, February. So, this paper introduces the project profile, the design of cable and its accessory, the cable system design, installation and site test.

Development of PU Nanoweb Based Electroconductive Textiles and Exploration of Applicability as a Transmission Line for Smart Clothing (PU 나노웹 기반 전기전도성 텍스타일의 개발 및 스마트의류용 신호전달선으로의 적용 가능성 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the electroconductive textiles based on polyurethane(PU) nanoweb and to explore that it is applicable to smart clothing. The electroconductive textiles developed by coating 2.0 wt% aqueous dispersed non-oxidized graphene paste on the surface of PU nanoweb. The fabricated electroconductive nanoweb was applied as a transmission line to connect the LED lamp, and the brightness of the LED lamp was measured to confirm its performance. The nanoweb transmission line was fixed by two methods(seam sealing tape, embroidering) to connect the LED lamp and AA batteries. The results as follows, the brightness of the LED lamp fixed with seam sealing tape was about 82 lux, and which fixed with embroidering was about 57 lux. It represents that the nanoweb transmission line which fixed with the seam sealing tape has better electrical signal transmitting because the lux value higher than the one fixed by embroidering. In order to compare the performance of the nanoweb transmission line and the metal wire, we connected the LED lamp with copper wire. The brightness of copper wire connected LED lamp was about 193 lux. Although the electrical signal strength of the nanoweb transmission line was weaker than the copper wire, it was reachable to operate LED lamp. The results of this study will provide a basic data to develop the textile based electronic devices, and conducting wire for smart clothing.

  • In this paper, we proposed the method of the characteristic impedance and effective dielectric constant calculations of a parallel-two-wire transmission line coated with multi-layer dielectric material using conformal mapping method. First of all, we calculated the capacitance of the transmission line when coated by N layer dielectric material which has different thickness and dielectric constant and calculated the characteristic impedance and effective dielectric constant using calculated capacitances. When compared with the Maxwell 2D (made by Ansoft Corporation) simulation result calculated result was very similar to the simulation result within the four percent error range.

  • This paper presents two ground plane effects due to the size of two rectangular apertures for two-wire transmission line with equal line length crossing the changeable rectangular apertures in infinite ground planes. The CST MWS is used to determine the characteristics of the insertion loss of the transmission line from the load section in accordance with the ground plane aperture size. The results show that the insertion gain and the insertion loss are periodically observed for the multiple frequency of the half wavelength resonance by the wire length when the transmission line is nearby to horizontal side or vertical side of the aperture. The measurements of the insertion loss are performed to verify the theoretical analysis.

  • The effects of involved parameters to the voltages induced at both ends of an angled two-wire transmission line are investigated for the incidence of an arbitrary plane wave. The minimum level of the induced voltages is found in case that both ends of the transmission line are terminated by the ma- tching loads and the azimuth angle of the incident wave is equal to the elevation angle. A graphical technique is also developed to estimate the induced voltages at the change of the wire radius or tilt angle between two wires.

  • Chua's circuit is a simple electronic network which exhibits a variety of bifurcation and attractors. The circuit consists of two capacitors, an inductor, a linear resistor, and a nonlinear resistor. In this paper, a transmitter and a receiver using two identical Chua's circuits are proposed and a equivalent wire synchronizations are investigated Since the synchronization of the wire transmission system is impossible by coupled synchronization, theory having both the drive-response and the coupled synchronization is proposed. As a result, the chaos synchronization has delay characteristics in the wire transmission system caused by the line parameters L and C.

  • Chuas circuit is a simple electronic network which exhibits a variety of bifurcation and attractors. The circuit consists of two capacitors, an inductor, a linear resistor, and a nonlinear resistor. In this paper, a transmitter and a receiver using two identical Chuas circuits are proposed and synchronizations of a equivalent wire and wireless power line are investigated. Since the synchronization of the equivalent wire and wireless system is impossible by coupled synchronization, theory having both the drive-response and the coupled synchronization is proposed. As a result, the chaos synchronization has delay characteristics in the equivalent wire and wireless transmission system caused by the line parameters L and C.
